#That's great! This is exactly the kind

well, we are not good enough neither for the design part nor manufacturing. to my recollection, there were some diode or other that should be somewhere. its a long time ago... cant remember the versions either. so, we want the masters at Adafruit to do it. How do i suggest it?
it should probably have the latest of adafruits solar charger as well, to get rid of the cap.
1.0 is the latest
There is a contact form on their website where you can recommend products to carry. You can recommend a product especially a feather that you would like to have designed that you (and I) would purchase. Can also bring it up during ask an engineer live show. The more people ask for a certain thing the more likely they are to design a PCB for it. I would certainly buy a few!
@wanton talon I snagged the brd and sch files from your hackaday article. Will take a look into them with EasyEDA when I have time. What program did you use to design the PCB? just because it's a .brd or .sch doesn't necessarily mean I can import it. If it's designed with Eagle then I can definitely import it.
i have trouble remembering. my student did this, and he had Eagle (via Fusion) . i doubt we had fritzing. i think we "stole" some files from adafruit and added things. but from what i remember i got nervous about feeding current the wrong way, hence the need of a diode somewhere. or we though of it. well, dont count on it to be correct. unfortunately, i cant find any files now. but your very welcome to use whatever you find useful!
but id be a nice thing to have, just plug in to any feather project and make it solar powered, with stats.
also the solar charger we use is a little dumb to use for charge measuring, since it pumps current in spikes into the battery and we take around 500 samples and make an average to catch these spikes. that takes time, a couple of seconds. and you dont want that when youre trying to save on energy
also, what to do with the 4.4 V LOAD output, connect it to USB pin (diode needed), will it power the feather. will it be dangerous? things i dont know
