#"Playing" sounds on my Grand Central M4

Can I use the I2S thingie because from what I can tell it can input and output sound but not play them to say a laptop to use the laptop sound card/speakers directly ?
If I understand correctly, are you trying to output an audio signal to an entirely different device? For example using a cable like this https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Speaker-Subwoofer-Gold-Plated/dp/B00NO73MUQ
If so, there is a way to do that as well, but it's something I've not yet done so I won't be much help there sadly
no, I wanted to play sound directly on it without external hardware but it doesn't seem possible. And reading what I2S does it doesn't really help playing sounds it just redirects it
you don't need I2S with the M4
It also don't seems to do any DAC(Digital Audio Chip)/DSP or codecs so it cant play anything else than raw waves
but you do still need a way to output the audio signal
I see so Id need an aux output to aux input in my laptop to be able to use my laptop to play sounds from it or otherwise the speakers you said
Or 3rd choice hooking up pc speakers directly since they already have amp circuits inside
I think both of those are possible with different circuitry
Again, I've not yet done much hacking in this particular area( so far I've always included speakers in my gadgets), so I'm of limited usefulness, but I think what you need is a way to propagate the "line level" signal, if you are going to amplify it elsewhere.
ah Todbot has a good response in the main channel
