I am looking to add some lights to some gauges to increase visibility, the problem is I am not a big fan of normal LED bulbs or strips and would much rather they look softer and more like older bulbs.(Think phosphor glow)

I need them to be RGB preferably or Green if it isnt possible. I have been eyeying the EL strips and the Neon LEDs and the nOOds, but it is hard to get a clear idea of which one is the right one based on the pictures.

i wanted to know from you guys that have more experience in these topics could give me a hand in figuring out the best option for me

these are the products i looked at so far

i have heard that EL tape and panels have an audible high pitch whine so i am not sure if they even are a good option
This will be running on automotive voltage, so it can range from 12.7 to 14.5v, but I will be using a regulator and a robust circuit to reduce noise and spikes to help keep the voltage clean and constant.

I'm open to any suggestions and appreciate any help

at some point you're going to have to buy something and try it out for your particular requirements - EL wire doesn't whine all by itself, that's usually been the power/frequency requirements in the power source; noods are straight up LED's in sequence, so they don't have the same frequency drivers
