#Hallowing M0 Circuitpy file not showing
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I've tried all the troubleshoot things on the circuitpy page, but nothing's working. I did see an old thread for the monster mask where it seemed to be a hardware issue
are you sure the usb cable works for data?
Yes, we are successfully able to open hallowboot but whenever we upload the .uf2 file, no circuitpy drive file is created after installation
what version are you installing?
We've tried the latest version (8.2.8), 5.3.1, and 5.0.0 alpha
For 8.2.8, we got a really quick flash through of error code that I couldn't access with the Mu REPL and then it entered safe mode, but by deduction I think the error was You are in safe mode because:
CIRCUITPY drive could not be found or created.
Older versions just stall waiting for a reload
is it a new board?
yes, brand new
it might have a flash chip that CP doesn't know it might have
can you take a picture of the chip on the back with 8 legs?
it'll have the part number on it
ya one mo
I'm not sure which 8 leg you're looking for, there's two of them on this board
winbond by the switch
W25Q64JVxQ is what cp is configured for
okay, so what do we have to do
post to the support forum and we can send another
that is the wrong flash chip. it is only 2mb
I can get you a build in the meantime that will work
Okay, thank you so much! Is that the Adafruit support forum online?
How quickly will the board get to us?
I'm not sure. you post to the forum and then send support@adafruit.com a request
I'm building you a version that may work now
but the flash size will be smaller
okay
sorry, my laptop hasn't been used to build in a while
@pastel wren you around to do a quick samd build?
@spare oak could do it too. I've gotta run
@dapper pasture thank you so much for your help!
๐ sorry it has the wrong chip! that can happen if the board gets reworked
@pastel wren @spare oak, nice to meet you, thank you so much for your help and time if you can give it!
@obtuse plank setting up my system to build a firmware for you.
@obtuse plank Please try with this UF2 file. It should be identical ot the 8.2.8 release except that support for the "W25Q16JVxQ" (2 megabyte) flash chip has been added.
I replied to your forum thread and attached the build above. But it is definitely the wrong chip (2MB instead of 8MB), and we'll see about rectifying that.
