Hi, could we preface the instructions on renaming boot.py with explanations on how to get into safe mode ? It's so much simpler. The led blinks on boot showing when you can press reset to go to safe mode (though it didn't until 8.0 beta 6 or something, so for earlier versions its "within one second but not too fast" which, granted, isn't the best).

uh that's unclear to me now too, sorry for that 🤦
did I forget that the pico doesn't have a reset button or did I mean that we should tell people to setup a reset button ?

I am a big proponent of safe mode first as a solution before pretty much any other method that requires renaming files, accessing the REPL, or erasing the drive (which is sometimes given as the first solution in the help channel, which makes me cringe).
But with the pico's lack of reset button, shorting with a wire is not an easy way to make a double click...
