@languid mirage you recently bought a bunch of CPB's. Could you report what version of the bootloader was on a typical one? The whole contents of INFO_UF2.TXT from CPLAYBTBOOT (after double-clicking) would be great. Did you have to update the bootloaders? If so, what method did you use? Did CircuitPython 8 load on these boards without updating the bootloaders? Thanks!
#CPB bootloader version

Hi Dan, I haven't purchased new CPBs since a stack of about 100 that I bought more than two years back. I had to update all of these at the start of the semester with the new bootloader & at that time I installed whatever was current CircuitPython veresion as of that date (I don't know if v.8 was in release at that time - if not, we likely started with a version of the 7 release). I did need to update the bootloader on all of them. These were the instructions I used & created for my TAs to help as they found loose CPBs around the labs, turned in late, salvaged from old projects, etc.

So far everything seems to work great. Most students should have upgraded to CircuitPython v. 8 & no problems reported. Hope that helps!
