#That is overkill but it probably would

Thanks danh. I'm currently using a Stemma/QT to Grove cable. I'm looking to put it all in a transparent case so aiming to keep things neat and tidy

All our I2C breakouts have pullups, so if you added some other STEMMA/QT sensor or switch board (e.g., https://www.adafruit.com/product/4980) to the chain, you would also get pullups "for free"

Sweet, so I could add one of those or the hot-swap board, and either would work?

yes, or a temp sensor or acclerometer or humidity sensor or whatever. I was just thinking the pushbuttons might be up your alley in terms of the project.

Sweet, thanks so much danh!

but if it's easy to add pullups temporarily to your current setup to test that they solve the problem, I think that's worth doing. If you have a spare STEMMA/QT cable, you can add some resistors across the lines on that

and that would be the easiest. Could add heatshrink or tape over the resistors if you do that. That's assuming you have some ~5k-10k resistors lying aroudn

Brilliant, thanks for your help! I'll get on it
