I am currently working on this guide https://learn.adafruit.com/ez-make-oven. I do not have a readily available relay module so I am trying to make my own. What is the logic voltage of the D3 and D4 connectors and would this circuit be applicable? I have checked the datasheet for both the transistor (ON SS9014) and the relay (RTD34005) and this circuit seems to pass a safe amount of current through both.

I believe they are 3.3V
alright, cool
I have some 1N4148 left over from a keyboard project, would this work for inductive kickback protection?
I think you want a schottky
Also are you familiar with high voltage design? It can get dangerous
No, not yet
if needed, I could pull out a pre-made relay module out of another thing I built
I personally would just buy a module.
Functional Devices makes some high quality, CE and UL rated/listed devices for decent prices.
Keep in mind that any fires started by devices that aren't rated/listed won't be covered by insurance.
good point, fwiw I am better off using the IoT splitter listed in the guide
