Indeed!
I was here the whole time, but my super old laptop happened to not load Discord - good now 🙂
evening, folks!
Ohhh, I2C CAN!
Hi! :D
hello!
Tony Stark needs coffee too ☕☕
Hi, just got here! Hope y'all are doing alright!
I'mma be Iron [cat] Man for Otakon!
This is a big deal for me! Wow, cool chip!!!!!!
Q for Lady Ada: I would love to see a digikey search on fans. I am using an Ender3 Pro 24v PSU and looking for a quieter replacements for the 24v Motherboard and Hotend fans with comparable specs. What is considered "quiet"? Anything under 24decibels? My goal is to document it and use as few voltage regulars as possible.
Same, I've wanted to build a device to work in my car for getting data like fuel info, so this would make it so much easier!
Very cool
So this is wireless I2C
CAN-CAN bus.
Hehe
@open girder Is there an SPI version?
You can tell this isn't Adafruit documentation because it uses master/slave instead of controller/peripheral
CAN bus microcontrollers are reeeaaaaalllllllyyyy expensive... as are most CAN adapters I've looked at
Bless you PT!
I know automobiles use CAN, but are there any that use I2C?
I haven't heard of I2C in a car
pros/cons of I2CAN vs. differential I2C via NXP’s PCA9615?
But being able to talk to CAN over I2C in my car would be awesome!
That's what I was getting to.
i'm hearing that it's just i2c over can, not really reading any random can bus via i2c...
What do you consider expensive? Many STM32 support CAN.
that's cool!
I wonder -- did Digikey release their "how to start a makerspace" book yet?
Digi-Key Innovation Handbook https://www.adafruit.com/product/5154
Question of clarification: Does this I2C over CAN adapter enable communication with CAN networks such as in a car?

Biiig chonk motors
2.8A??? wow!
GIANT 3D PRINTER TIME
i2c is a terrible interface, especially in a noisy environment of a car.
That motor pricing is rather fair, given what I've seen some motors go for...hmm. Might have to grab a couple.

But in a home, it would be cool to use @nimble cloud
Don't those usually go for like $40-50?

Q: What is the popularity of the RP2040 compared to other microcontrollers in the shop these days? Will SAMD processors (especially M0) still have their place in the future?

I kinda wanna get one of those trackballs and make a cleaned up enclosure for desktop use
Looks fun

Why does it matter? Unless you're concerned about future supply, use the product that best suites your needs.
I’m only curious how many they’ve been selling or if it’s a shortage thing.
I got a few of those in my Analog Discovery kit - they’re fascinating!

Not associated with Lego
Hahaha.... PT !!!
....I have this feeling that these aren't associated with lego....
Ohh, those stacking building blocks with built in LEDs are cool
are they associated with lego? lol
Are ThoSE LEgO?
And their HDMI DVI breakout isn’t associated with HDMI
Not-lego glow bricks are cool

Ohhh, atomic clock Trinkey sounds awesome, lol
Yeah
Lol the cost
We can see farther if we stand on the shoulders of giants.
@open girder Good answer
#worthit
Atomic Clock Feather Wing seems more realistic
Thanks LadyAda for replying to my Q.
I like and agree with the Adafruit reason to go open source!
CAN bus is exposed on the OBD-II port of a modern car
I love that CAN bus attitude
SPI and I2C tend to be communication protocols used on the same board, while CAN would be more for board to board (over distances, with a signal that is less impervious to noise)
The CANT buss is closed source...
Plus Adafruit is sort of proof open hardware doesn’t really affect profitability because I don’t ever see Adafruit boards not manufactured by Adafruit.
Not like there are a ton of clones
Q: is Arduino support in the works for the ItsyBitsy RP2040?
Robotics needs open source!
I've seen Adafruit clones, but they're so close in pricing it becomes a matter of "why even bother? it's not worth saving 20 cents and have the risk of it not working. plus adafruit has stellar support and the learning system. it's worth it."
Agreed
Looks like this might be SPI over diff signal... LTC4332 https://www.analog.com/en/products/ltc4332.html?doc=LTC4332.pdf#product-overview
The LTC4332 is a point-to-point rugged SPI extender designed for operation in high noise industrial environments over long distances. Using a ±60V fault protected differential transceiver, the LTC4332 can transmit SPI data, including an interrupt signal, up to 2MHz over two twisted pair cables. The extended common mode range and high common mode...
I think the RP2040, in addition to being an interesting and available chip, is pretty popular because it's Raspberry Pi too, a valued and popular brand
Q: The CRICKIT board itself is quite expensive and it must be paired with a micro controller. (About $50) Now that the Seesaw chip onboard the CRICKIT is more expensive than the RP2040, have you considered making an updated integrated board?
Plus documentation and it works with CP, MP, Arduino.
YES!!! You rock J!
The biggest thing with Adafruit being open source is that small companies can develop with Adafruit's hardware, then adapt the designs for their needs, which enables them to make money in whatever niche that Adafruit probably wouldn't be covering specifically. Adafruit makes money, they make money, win-win!
@open girder Do you make all your money from hardware?
Good show! Thanks guys!
Thanks for the stream. Excellent as usual.
Thanks Guys
Thanks @open girder for another excellent evening of shows!

Thank you!
Great! Thumbs up
@open girder Thank you!
Have a nice night!! 🥰🥰
Bye
Thanks all, have a nice evening. Back to speedbenchy hardware!
You are owned by your cat...
Thanks @open girder and good night. 🌘
❤️
thanks for a great evening of shows!
ahhhh so long since I had a moment of zener
I still find the way PT says Zener to be amusing, lol
Uh huh and I’ll BE HOLDIN that Ada box soon 🤣😝 can’t wait!
Just subscribed to Adabox and I am super excited! Thanks Adafruit folks!
See ya all next week!
Back to the (vcv) rack!
See all the JP fans tomorrow!
@open girder Just a quick clarification on the CRICKIT topic. I know the microcontroller is only a few dollars of the entire cost of the board. That’s why I think it would be nice to install Circuit Python on a CRICKIT and use it directly instead of over I2C.
Versus using it with a feather or circuit playground with a ton of unneeded support circuitry.
one reason we went with a coprocessor was that 1) it allows us to know for sure the time critical code isn't contending with other execution and 2) allows for flexibility with what coprocessor you are using on the board that plugs in
Ah I see. But wouldn’t it be possible to have both use cases?
I’m not arguing with you in any way. But I feel as if this topic could be explored further to make new exciting affordable robotics.
I know one person remixed the crickit board but I can't remember who
Maybe even using one core of the RP2040 to as the coprocessor and the other to run other execution. This of course isn’t functionally in CP yet but that would be so neat!
Anyway thanks for the response and I appreciate all the things you do with CP. 👍
Quad-core CP-compatible microcontrollers when?
I feel like people forget 2040 is dual core
It's like...however good it is now. You're only using half of it!
And it already costs half of other single core microcontrollers.
I haven't even flexed the one core I have been using XD but it would be cool to have access to both, I'm sure CP will get there
concurrency programming is really hard to do correctly
I'm more interested in the earlier phases of learning to program and use computers
Definitely. Although today my goal was to experiment with it in MicroPython. Fun stuff.
cheap microcontrollers are the opiate of the masses
If Adafruit is going to sell RP2040 boards that ship with Circuit Python there should be a way to utilize them fully, in my opinion.
(though I'd love to see it added. it's just not anywhere near the top of my priority list)
But yes the Micro Python support lightens the load. It's already there to have fun with.
that's the wrong way to look at it
What if dual-core microcontrollers became the norm? Would it become a higher priority to get concurrency in there?
you'll never finish anything if you focus on 100% support for something
instead, it's better to look at what you want to do with something, and what you need in order to achieve it
use what you need
You don't have to use all the fonts unless you're writing a random note.
Is that a challenge
there is a ton you can do on the rp2040 without the second core
The RP2040 is DANG fast!
Thanks
Plus overclock-able.
I mean, it can drive VGA signals with that one core, it's nuts!
The things I don't get about the Pico is the pins labeled on the bottom and no reset button
Otherwise it seems a beautiful and perfectly cheap board
I just use a second Pico to tell which pins are which :P
It's so cheap it's my reference!
Cheap good!
Next I hope Pi Foundation is planning a wifi board
Or chipset
Gonna move to #general-tech

Hello there!
Hi everyone from beautiful Sturbridge, Massachusetts
Good afternoon
Morning/afternoon/evening all 👋
General Kenobi.
hello there the Park of John
@ionic garnet I'm pretty sure when we visitted the Old Sturbridge Village when I was a kid I thought the people there were time travellers or something.
I'm at a point where Adafruit boxes come4 out of 7 days a week. Brings me joy! Now I've got some work to do. Interesting art/science/math
@haughty quiver yeah. I visited too. I lived in South Windsor CT growing up and we went annually to Sturbridge Village
Bleeps and bloops are a go on Twitch
As a resident now, I get in free! Lived here for 13 years now. I work in Boston, but that means my house in Sturbridge
When you find the person that makes the rules, I want to send them a strongly worded letter.
@ionic garnet If you hit the bars in Boston, ask for Portico beer. My son is the brewmaster.
We have Bleepage, and we have Bloopage...
YT is alive with bps and blps

Good evening @clever summit 😀
I am interested of getting Adabox. Please add Sweden to approved countries!
I think Lars is falling asleep.
Who is this Lars you talk about?
Lars isn't sleeping. He's inspecting his eyelids. The holes are still there so he can see you while he's sleeping.
I do my own Adabox by randomly picking stuff from the different products and then figuring out how to use it

Lars sounds like a swedish dude.
I missed JPPPotW because a gust of high winds/suspected EF-0 tornado hit us and took out a bunch of trees, power lines, and even destroyed a security camera we have. 🌪️ 📹
Everyone is fine, and nothing that the power company, tree trimming, and epoxy can't fix.
@waxen thistle are you in FL?

wow, the storm went that far?

You were fortunate, then.
Yes, a few tornados touched down here from the storm
Very much so, down the road it wasn't so nice. It was a super brief yet insanely strong swirl of strong winds.
Today will be the third consecutive day of such storms

It's alway a sign of a good person when they disclose any possible conflict of interest (like receiving free product--not the same as sponsorship). Nice job JP
Lol. Not Rick Astley? 😄
a little late to the party but seems like i'm just in time for the rave
Hi, @split gazelle
hello!
hello
hi!
An engineer is never late -- they arrive exactly when they intend to!
Lol.
Hi there!
Nice robotics project JP, making Lars dance in time to your music. 🦝
Could this kind of interaction with Ableton be done with a NeoTrellis M4?
I’ve been waitlisted ##”since forever” to get a Macropad. So frustrated 🤯🤪
Be patient -- there's a high demand and limited supply. But you did the right thing, putting your email in.
Also check out www.digikey.com
to see if they might have it, as they're an Adafruit reseller.
I believe so. This is pretty standard CircuitPython USB MIDI code. The main change would be how the keys are read (the NeoTrellis keypad library is slightly different than the one for Macropad)
Thanks @cinder wind
I was browsing the Adafruit Learn Guide github and noticed JP added the code for this recently https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Learning_System_Guides/blob/main/Macropad_Ableton/code.py
cool. I will look into this later.
gosh I'm late
Thank you Bruce
@grand tusk Better late than never. 😉
Not sure what you're clicking on in Ableton.
Need more screens. 😄
thanks
I've heard that MIDI could even be used to control lighting.
I wired it to set the tempo based on the NoteOn value.
@haughty quiver cool project
@haughty quiver Intense very cool project
that was a lot and fun
Thanks JP!
Cool project. Gotta leave for a meeting. See you all later

Thanksmuch JP!
super cool!
I made a 3x7 touchpad on the TFT FeatherWing.
I can't wait to play with this
Excellent workshop session, @haughty quiver. Got me thinking about using an Abletron-like controller for live tracks. Need to see how it might interface with Studio One 5's performance mode.
I'm new to midi(so forgive me if this is a crazy question) . So I can download a midi program, connect the MP and start making music? How is that music saved? and can the MP connect to a smartphone(usbc) with midi app?
@woeful pond In this case the Macropad is being used to trigger "clips" in the music software. Those clips can be pre-recorded sample files, such as .wav or .aif, or the clips can be a type of music notation on a type of piano roll saved as MIDI note messages which create the sounds in realtime using synthesis.
@haughty quiver understood, thanks
I haven't tried yet, @woeful pond but the Macropad should work as a MIDI controller on phones and tablets.
Using an OTG cable.
@woeful pond there's lots of free music apps on computers. On Mac, GarageBand is surprisingly good. On Windows, Cakewalk. On Linux, LMMS is pretty great. On Mac & Windows. Ableton offers a "Live Lite" that I think is free. And all of these will work with JP's MIDI controllers he's built
Hey @haughty quiver - would you be interested to be in a podcast? Scott was on in an episode.
Ahh, I see @cinder wind , @haughty quiver . I have to study midi to get up to speed, then run through your code to totally understand . Thanks
I'm using I2S to build a stand-alone groove box using a Metro M4.
wow, that's a killer project.
Do you have more Info on this somewhere?
@haughty quiver - send a message to SimpleElectronicsYT@Gmail.com!
Still in development, I will post the code on Github when it's ready.
Tell him I sent you! 🙂
I also post on #help-with-audio.
@haughty quiver Killer project, I see alot of thought went into it. Thanks for the show.

no they don't include masks in the orders any more

Hi All ! Sorry I am late ;-P
with the foray into keyboards, any chance of limited interrupt support? Using the keypad and the led_animation libraries on the Macropad RP2040 is a little clunky.

oh @upper sandal !!! That's awesome... I've wanted to do this for > 18 months!!!!

im gonna share 2 games for the microbit im gonna share it with all of you
I made a branch for adding STEMMA_I2C, but I don't want to PR it until 7 is stable, there's only one board that needs it anyway, it's just an alias on every other ones
yes but if you have im gonna share privately to you
thats ok
Ok i wil put a link for the dowload of 2 thing that you can do if youre bored
Diference the microbit has a 5x5 dislay and the circuit playground 10 leds
wow amazing
@rapid hornet all good in mods

but on discord i made a channel for my youtube channel
i made a art contest for shoutouts

so when you have n ( starting with 2 ) devices with the same vendor/product - do you have to interract with the device, or does the user need to guess?
I think it's a list of filters.

same. console.log driven debugging is the best.
Scoping rules
Main difference is scoping rules. Variables declared by var keyword are scoped to the immediate function body (hence the function scope) while let variables are scoped to the immediate enclosing block denoted by { } (hence the block scope).
^^ And this why I say JS is designed to make me feel bad about myself... way too many ways to do things
is there really no way to test the code syntax without loading it into a browser?
what's on line 359 ?
Is this javascript code with semicolons?
WOOT !
Maybe mixing (circuit)python, C code and javascript must be bad...
I got back from a social false alarm just in time to see the magic
looks great
You built a console keylogger
Is this the time where I need to order a micro:bit v2?
I see a github pull in my life soon

I used to be passable but am long out of practice. I love French crime cinema, Jean-Pierre Melville etc.
ah operating systems... "oh no the drive went away, PANIC"
I managed to get a hard crash when tring 7.0.0-alpha.4, but a reset cleared it.
Can confirm:
7.0.0-alpha.2 works
7.0.0-alpha.3 does not work.
alpha.2 -> alpha.3 was when Scott did all the MicroPython catch-up merging
Showing 511 changed files with 11,997 additions and 6,415 deletions.
This is going to a fun one to hunt down.

Binary search time
It's not as bad as first look

but discord does not have the same streaming features as youtube (yet)
Glad to see ladyada back in her classic hair!
"This was a triumph! I'm making a note here, huge success!"
@open girder youtube unfortunately does not allows direct streaming to discord but I think twitch does. On the video game I play (black desert console) they stream twitch to discord and I can watch on twitch, twitch allows me to make a tiny window I can watch and read chat
🇸🇪 👋
sharky trinkey but what kind of trinkey would it contain?
That’s really nice
Has ladyada tried GitHub Copilot yet? I got access and I think it's creepy/cool.
I don’t like TE in NC lol
Texas is good
Wow witth that kind of lead time you guys have to strategically plan what you need
Oh, and hi 👋
Looks like playing keepaway with the battery!
Lol yea
Oh, nvm, PT beat me to the punch 😦
"taunt children with this battery"
"make them want that internal erosion from hydrolysis"
"Oh, I'm sorry little child, did you need this battery for your loud, noisy, annoying toy? MWAHAHAHA"
What's really odd is that the parents who HATED loud toys are now the grandparents who give those loud toys to their grandchildren, to annoy their children
battery holders are cool for sure
Oh man, she's been back at it since probably last may?
There is a lot of women doing electronics
Thanks @open girder and good night. 🌑
But maybe only woman electronic broadcast
Thanks everyone! Have a good night and awesome week!
battery holder types i think the remotes use the side one
They were only down for the worst of it in NYC, they've been my smart mental lifeline 😁
Thanks all, have a good week!
even the remotes have that battery holder plastic part what you slide in
Goodnight everyone!
Happy Tuesday! Setting my alarms.
<@&846780953275006976> We're on for a 🤿 this Friday at the normal time (2pm pacific) and @fierce glacier is going to join to discuss a tough bug in the native emitter.
🙌🤿💦💦🏊 wheee! Sounds awesome!! The BLE workflow stuff is blowin my MIND 🤩 thanks for all the hard work!
great! have you tried the ble stuff yourself?
I actually have a dive of my own today 😁 I have 2 esp32 feathers, and also a 2040 feather stack with an esp32 wing, and a circuit playground express (and am still very new!) but I have circuitpy on the 2040 so far - any ideal candidates there?
unfortunately no. the ble stuff is for nrf52 boards at the moment
🥲 whelp, some of those are prolly in my future too, since the PPK can do so many neat things with em ☺️ once I’m done poking around espressif land Nordic was gonna be soon enough anyway (hey, maybe my adabox will have one! 😆 crosses fingers, waits for Ada 🤶 Claus)

Good afternoon all you wonderful deal hunters....and yes, you too Lars. 🦝
Hmm. Lars made a weird hissing noise and went back to sleep.
Good afternood
He approves of this broadcast and more so, of the discount ahead.

....eeprom breakout?
break-in?
Break out? You're not breaking out. Youse pins and ICs are stuck in here with me!
Breakthrough?
Is there a skin care product for an eeprom breakout?
Flux.
I can't break away.
[no it isn't a skin care product, don't apply flux to your skin -- it's bad for you.]
YT just went live
YT is a wee bit slow with restreaming software.
from @cinder wind (bot caught it for repeated characters):
Originally coined when the inventor accidentally sat on a hotplate "EEEEEEEEEEPROM!". Later shortened to "EEPROM"
hahaha yeah dangit
It does more good than harm, sorry you got snagged by it 🙂
Two bucks for chip? Even Doritos aren't that cheap.
🇸🇪 👋
That was odd.
Did anyone else get a Max Headroom effect?
JP Headroom!
Oh yeah
can't wait to stick that in Ableton and make a remix
Yes. Maxxed for a few seconds.

Any projection for when a CircuitPython library may become available?
Put your entire resume on it, in ASCII format, and if the prospective employer can figure it out, you'll work with them!
Here's the library example code he's referring to: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_FRAM_I2C/blob/master/examples/Generic_I2C_EEPROM/Generic_I2C_EEPROM.ino
Thanks JP!
Thank you!
Thanks @haughty quiver I grab a few.
Thanks @haughty quiver !
Thanks!
thanks very much!
I would pay good money to hear JP sing broadway hits, like from Cats. Late Night Adafruit Karaoke. 🎙️
On it.
@waxen thistle Thank sounds like a challenge...I think
yepper
ah ah ah ah
I've never used one of those XD
if you want to play with this in CircuitPython, I think you don't need a library to get started, but rather doing simple two-byte writes and one-byte reads, like:
(Tod just volunteered to write the library, sweet!)
to write to addr addr with byte data:
i2c.writeto(i2c_addr, bytearray([addr, data]))
to read from addr into data:
data = bytearray(1); i2c.writeto_then_readfrom(i2c_addr, bytearray([addr]),data)
excellent!
https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_CircuitPython_FRAM
This might be a good starting point
Hey JP, I have a present for you whenever you get a PO box!
Doesn't the eeprom have a "read device id" function? ( I just checked the data sheet, and apparently not, so I guess to find the capacity you have to write and readback like the demo does) One thing important to notice is that the endurance of the memory differs: The first 4k is rated for 10,000,000 Erase/Write cycles while the rest is only rated for 100,000 Erase/Write cycles! Something to keep in mind.
Package arrived today. Hello, ThinkInk. Hello, red key switches.
Yay eInk! I have red and brown and black switches and dunno what to do with them XD
is ada broadcasting today?
I have a class in 55 minutes
I have never taken a real class this late at night like this wth

So, 16G is good with the 3D apps?
I have 2019 Macbook Pro -- i7, 16gb ram, dedicated GPU, etc.
And the M1 mac with 8gb ram and integrated GPU beats my machine in nearly every metric and real-world scenario -- hands-down.
I would upgrade if I didn't already sink so much into this machine. Maybe the M1x/M2 version of the upcoming Macbook Pro 16" might be enough to get me to change.
the M1 mac mini is the category killer if you're on the fence - Regardless, no matter how fast an intel arch chipset is going to get you, that RAM is not on-die... the RAM in an M1 is essentially an L4 cache
@hard hollow @rocky reef Learn issue is now fixed.
M1 mini is such a great deal, especially the base model that has constant $100+ off sales.
exactly
Just started using an M1 Mini -- so far so good -- very smooth transition -- once it installed Rosetta!
If the M1 supported more than 2x total displays (I have a triple monitor setup in my workflow)....I'd be onboard with migrating from a 2019 purchase.
I have a maxxed out 2018 mac mini (64GB 3.2Ghz Hexa i7), and the base M1 mini with 16GB beats it almost everywhere
@rapid pecan would you reccommend more memory with the M1?
it depends on what you're doing... for 90% of folks, its probably unnecessary
The M1 platform is such a radical improvement on usability, that it's stopped me from buying a Windows laptop. "I could drop $800-1300 on a windows laptop, and it wouldn't even come close to the entry level Macbook Air. Zero contest."
@rapid pecan for apps like F360, spreadsheet, simplify..etc?
I was asked to make this one, so here it is. Since there were too much variation in reference pictures, I made included two different types that I found the most pleasing. Original pictures had fully looping shape, but I also included a cutted shape, that might be easier to get right (might require string or something).

@woeful pond in isolation - probably not, but for someone running multiple docker containers, an IDE running in debug mode, and too many browser tabs to count - yeah
@rapid pecan up toward 32G I guess....thanks
concurrently running apps, or editing huge graphics / video files is really the only reason why you would NEED more RAM. I'm guessing they might put 32G in the M2 - at that point, you're not going to be longing for much

aw, am early. now I have 20 minutes to clean my room. 😦
I see that YouTube is up @waxen thistle is twitch going to be up also?
Adafruit restreams on a variety of platforms, including Twitch, Youtube, Linkedin, Facebook, etc.
Ok
Hi folks,
Hello
The link to join will be posted here right ?
yes
Just to YouTube I follow her on twitch so I can use discord on mobile
I discovered this business when I was in college it’s one of my favorite businesses but unfortunately her stock seems limited and it’s hard to find what I want in the stores but I like the broadcast
we're in a global chip shortage, which really can't help the stock levels
Oh yeah I heard Ford shut down plants
Last year I wanted a PS4 controller I had to drop ship it from China
At least this year there is better stock than last
How long before the show they usually post the join link ?
The YouTube gave me an alert but I am waiting for twitch to come up
I mean for me to join the broadcast to show what I am working on 😉
there's going to be a streamyard link, which runs in your browser. the link is usually posted right at 7:30
Thank you @split gazelle 🙂
no problem!
should I keep the YouTube open too or just StreamYard for my presentation?
You probably only want streamyard open at the time it is a few seconds ahead of youtube
yes and you'll be able to see and hear the show on streamyard

But bowties do matter. Bowties are cool.
Private chat?
yes they will bring you up when it is your turn
I yield the remainder of my time to the honuorable processor from the raspberry pi foundation.
Wow I was just talking about asynchronous python
What about the SECOND processor? :O
Nice, simple demo
nice
I'm pretty sure async is still there but haven't used it myself
shout out to WarriorOfWire for implementing async and await for us in circuitpython
Wow lol
You could use the second core in the Pico to do true parallelism 🙂
Thanks!
I do hope that parallel support is something that comes to CP sooner rather than later! Especially since the RP2040 is exploding
I wouldn't say either is better...different use cases 🙂 You could do asyncio on two different threads on both cores!
Async is really important
Especially when using async to wait. For fetch request of database etc
Mmmm, microcontrollers will start getting labeled 2C4T, lol
Agreed....waiting for websites or sensors, etc., it's super helpful

Woosh!
wow @open girder LadyAda's hair looks awesome! such great colors!
@teal river oh, Well, its going to be interesting (next marvel movie with new villian)
I can imagine a good synth board being built from the MacroPad concept and library!
The Moog ladder filter is a great design

Took 9 long weeks of waiting (short by current standards)
I moved and lost all my electronics

Has been a while since I showed something... 🙂
Hope to have more soon...
I got a bit behind but I'm catching up at 1.5x speed .. I don't think I caught all the details
Haha
I have returned! With corndogs!
I had springroll here
Cherry Fro-Yo mmmm
I have leftover springrolls but opted for the leftover thai noodles first
these were fresh, Ingrid has cracked the code and makes pretty darned good ones now.
Thai food tries to kill me DX
following a good recipe is the key
that sounds good
me: I don't need to make the naughty cat project... also me: watching my cat chew on a houseplant...
as far as thai food goes (if that's the origin of the springroll) it's very mild. Mostly fresh vegetables, some noodles, some rice paper, and some peanut sauce. We used pan-fried tofu as the protein.
herbs -- basil and mint
The sauce is what will kill me

Hey everybody
Cant wait until that EEPROM to arrive
I haven't come up with something that I need an external EEPROM for yet... XD
Hi Jason 🙂
I want to learn the code around it.
Spoop music
To give a project memory (from EEPROM)
MIDI style with synths like Park, JohnPark like to do
I mean, I haven't come up with a project where I could use extra EEPROM so far XD
Ahhh.
I kinda do things that don't use non-volatile storage, or it needs more and I use like an SD card
Mmm formatted strings...
Yes. I'm thinking to remember something when it turns off and come back on with that retained memory, same colors, same data
Yeah. I usually have things start at some default and not the last used value
oh I loved Miner2049er
what kind of game is it? I have not heard of it.
I shall be working at a convention that day DX
It's a mining game
Kinda
ohh. thanks
I'm bad at explaining XD Wikipedia is better https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miner_2049er
Miner 2049er is a platform video game created by Bill Hogue that was released in 1982 by Big Five Software. It was developed for the Atari 8-bit family and widely ported to other systems. The title "Miner 2049er" evokes a 21st-century take on the California Gold Rush of around 1849, in which the gold miners and prospectors were nicknamed "49ers"...
I realize that since starting with CP a year or so ago now, all my project use it. I can't recall my last arduino project
@teal river seems interesting
I only started with CP a couple months ago, and I think I'm totally done with Arduino myself! Although I might just find some uses to use up my existing stock... but with the Pico, how dirt cheap it is, the power of CP, and the ease of use, I don't think I'm going back
CircuitPython passed 2,500 stargazers on github! now at 2,501. https://github.com/adafruit/circuitpython/stargazers
Free :O I like free
I would join if I actually had time to check email and read newsletters DX
@teal river Agreed. but I can't write off Arduino yet. I have to still learn to do some of the things with python first before I write off Arduino
@teal river but the CP code load is much faster
Fair. Arduino certainly has its uses as well -- I've heard that C stuff will run faster than CP, even on a slower ATMEL processor vs. the RP2040 in some cases
Mmmm NeXT
I do run into some cases where C or Arduino would be better but nothing I have spent time on in any depth.
Question: is there an advantage or disadvantage to having the OSWH logo on devices? I've seen some things have it and some don't
I like LadyAda's rambles
Transcripts are great
Nobody looks like they do on fancy pictures XD younger or not
I like CP better, but I'm more fluent in the C family - (meaning Arduino, C, C++, and C#)
I'd like to keep both for now
Yeah, having started with C, moved into C++, then C#, it's ingrained in me... but I'm not married to it, and CP seems to give flexibility I felt lacking in C family
I solved my itch to still do C by contributing to the CP core ha
Looking good @proper trench
I remember PCDuino
@nova totem and a great job you did!
Thanks, not phishing for compliments, but really trying to say it is a great way to have fun with C and help out too.
What’s the code tonight
