How do you make progress with a pedometer? One step at a time.
dropped out to let someone else in!
That's a bit pedestrian of you, @waxen thistle...

I had a Russian radio like that once - an Astrad.
wow. that's... ๐ฒ
I keep planning to get my HAM radio license but just have never got to doing the test
HamSlack? CampHam? hehe
I'm planning to get some ham...
@rapid hornet Which radio is that?
Good luck on ham license.
Baofeng UV-5r
If anyone wants to listen/receive without the license the RTL SDRs are a great entry to learning about radio
@rapid hornet when I got both of my Ham licenses, I used some software availble in the apple store called HAM Test Prep and it was very helpful.
Thanks!
hah, the opposite of the normal problem, i couldn't hear anything, lol
@nova totem yup! I have an RTL SDR that I played with too
@rapid hornet A troubleshooting quick tip I learned when troubleshooting old discrete transistor radios was to check the voltage drop between base and emitter. If the voltage drop is ~0.3v (germanimum) or ~0.6v (silicon) then the transistor is probably biased correctly and may be okay. If the base is more positive than the emitter, it's an NPN transistor; if base is more negative than the emitter, it's a PNP.

nothing fancy but this program runs on a RISC-V "soft" SoC (system-on-chip) in a FPGA. The SoC is built using Python framework called Migen and another framework called LiteX
@rapid hornet The measurements are taken when the radio is powered on. Replacing the caps is a good first step, though. Germanium transistors have a shelf life and would likely need to be replaced after 5 - 10 years.
here is an example of how a register to control LEDs on the board are defined in the SoC... using Python! https://github.com/icebreaker-fpga/icebreaker-litex-examples/blob/master/soc/rtl/leds.py

@clear matrix trying to break it down a bit:
Migen is a Python framework for generating Verilog.ย It does with a domain specificย language called FHDL.

Hello all. Late again. ๐ค
According to YouTube, this doesn't start for another ten minutes. ๐
i think that's their show & tell link
Well, this is John Park's Workshop, apparently.
well not updated things
I like that Clue cover design.
yeah title in twitch say john park workshop
that does away with the glue-on bezel?
Confusion reigns.
๐ฏ
YouTube are trying to out-do Twitchbot.

Impromptu show and tell!
๐
alrighty folks here's invite link https://streamyard.com/u8wtp68zvb
That's why it was telling me 16:30 (my time)...
come in and share projects you are working on https://streamyard.com/u8wtp68zvb
Lol.
That's something I'm reading about more -- making these wickedly cool automata toys
@split gazelle How can you bear it?
Opinions are really polarized.
It's giving me paws for thought.
I always got a kick out of that old video of the man ice fishing when a killer whale jumps up through the ice and nabs the fisherman. ๐
Twitch just loaded on Twitch mobile for me -- it loaded right at the end of Liz. ๐
that's an intense keyboard!
โจ๏ธ
Was absolutely stunned by @Druz320 Canoe inspired SMOLBOAT case. I had to have it...but it was for ortho keyboards, too large to print, and I wanted to use my teensy mount as well as other things I learned from my previous keyboards. Thus, the SiCK-68 was born.
The SiCK-68 is...
ooh that mic was a little scratchy wasn't it
it's okay everyone could hear you which is what matters ๐ very cool keyboards!
This is the way.
The way, this is.

great projects everyone!

thank you!

And now, back to problem solving ๐
thanks for hanging out folks!
We still need offices in most states if people are interested in collecting
thanks everyone for coming on! really appreciate it =]
๐
I will try and make it tonight for show and tell I am overbooked for the 7pm timeslot. I've been digging out old projects and seeing what works and what state I left them in.
I can totally see 3d printed visors used in an artistic context in the future, there are so many designs for them
Like an evolution of ppe
Totally. Even after this is over, makerspaces will just print safety goggles.
I'll be thrilled when I can print custom prescription eyewear
here are those LED panel feet: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4270499
every time I post a model I think "I should have tried one of the other services this time"...
you might find your designs on other sites... under other peoples names .... sigh....

So is there still a live video?
Oh wait, no I missed it. Lol oh well ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@fallow fractal there will be more later today! Show and Tell starts at 4pm Pacific / 7 pm Eastern and then Ask an Engineer is an hour after that
So what is it exactly? I didnt get to check out much of the video. Is it just adafruit staff or users as well?
Anyone and everyone is invited ๐ Adafruit staff typically show off their projects during this time too.
I have a project im working on that needs new electronics. Since nothing is shipping right now i may have to salvage them from an old project. Iโd love to share it if it was closer to being done.
We have folks share works in progress too, so it's totally up to you. You'll have 1-3 minutes to talk about what you're doing -- so if it's a 30 second update with a cool feature or problem solved, no worries.
You can be providing inspiration for someone watching ๐
Video-- they use a service called StreamYard. An invite link is sent out immediately prior to each S&T (uniquely generated)
Ooo ok cool. Well Iโll definitely be watching the next one.
7pm eastern tonight ๐ on youtube and twitch, as well as a few other services I believe like Facebook and Linkedin? But YT and Twitch are the best bets.
The video side is actually more important. They sometimes play "maker charades" when someone's audio fails.
@little siren ya but then Id have to do my makeup and hair and thats not going to happen. Lol but Iโll be happy to watch! ๐
Got a project I'd like to show off tonight

@glossy glacier I've done work that needed a shipping truck in NYC. It's a logistical challenge nightmare.
yeah there are picks of how the laser cutter was mod'd to deal with roll stock

then placed onto the laser cutter bed as a sized sheet.
