lots of behind the scenes ๐
I'm leaning towards getting it as my first printer.. I tend to keep things forever.. so I'm hoping this will fit my newbie needs and have some room to grow
@paper schooner i think so, lots of additions you can add like the BL touch bed leveing or switch it to direct drive. we added the flexy bed to easily remove prints
love the behind the scenes. Jealous of how organized you and @hard hollow are. And looks like the family will be a +1 very soon. very cool!
The removable flexible beds are great, that is one of the reasons I opted for the Prusa for my second printer.
hey hey, drew and I are here (on the correct day this time)
This is my first show and tell so I'm not really suyre what to do
we post a link here to join around 730pm, join in and that's about it!
Make sure your camera & mic are working and that you know how to mute yourself ๐
I have a funny mini project that I did over the last week that I'm hoping to share. And im hoping others find it funny as well
@wooden rock Cool
I'm showing a couple of new prototypes for musical instruments: one is a soft circuit tentacle using embroidered electronics and the other is a wearable choker thing using flex PCB (my second ever pcb!)
and drew is showing some cool pcbs of course
I am showing of some of my LED panel lights running WLED firmware.
Good evening all you absolutely wonderful folks!

Once you see the difference between IPS and TN, you'll never want to go back to a TN display again.
I need to get digging on the CPB & TFTGizmo coding, to make it rotate pics that I send via bluetooth.
Or atleast get a case for the CPB & TGTG to wear it as a personal display.
Oooo, very nice!
What do u type instead of pass to have CPB advertise?

Ya of course
@solemn spear it would be a nice start to get USB MIDI working in MakeCode/MakeCode Arcade. @grim token and some others have done a bit of work with this, but nothing is out as an extension in regular release AFAIK.
been chatting with Sam who made sonic pi about the same thing.
Super!
I wanted to use one of the Midi projects to sounds tuned chimes - thought that would be a great combo
Speaking of ulisp... I've added support to it for tinyusb... so it has the same usb drive approach for getting code onto it.

@eager sapphire did you win?
Why is in makecode JavaScript beside the blocks and not Circuitpython?
No, darn
Back in the day, we had a phreaker named Captain Crunch.
Today, because of JP's love of MIDI and programming loops, we now have Captain Fruit Loops!
John's screen should be on the right, not the left. It looks odd.
Right tool for the job regarding visual code versus text code -- it's easier for mobile and for beginners to manipulate an image. Look at Visual Basic, it was an entry point to development for many. Mainly because it had the "visual" training wheels.
A little phasing with the two mics, not too bad. Wireless mic level could come up a bit in the mix.
@waxen thistle I loved VB. I really miss it. ๐
MakeCode's mix of visual blocks with script available is nice, but I'd love to see an environment where the seam between the two is more of a gradient.
@inner spade How would that look, in your opinion?
It would be cool to put one of those magnetic stir bars in it.
but are there adafruit-themed figurines to put in the snowglobe?

Missed a trick, there.
Glitter is a controlled substance, excessive use is considered a war crime by the Geneva Convention. [no, don't research that. just trust me. you know it to be true.]
@waxen thistle Similar to some of the early attempts at SmallTalk, but I don't have a very solid image of it in mind.
Sea monkeys?
You can get a shipping container full of glitter off Alibaba for about $2000
@cinder wind That's a declaration of war ๐
Gameboy Mega Maschine?
LOL.
Cool. Thinking about eggnog now.
Mmmm. Eggnog.
True fact, one of the major glitter production factories in the USA is in northern NJ -- and the process for making it is extremely secret. Major purchasers of glitter are makeup companies and automotive paint companies.

Hmm. That's not Jenny's telephone number.
For those who are of the cell phone generation, telephones used to be hard-wired, mounted on the wall, and you had to spin a wheel to dial each number. Those with many 0's in their number were much disliked.

been out of touch, is the direction going to be more towards feather type, and not so much with teensy or itsy bitsy. i love the IBm4 but want to go for something more of a "standard"
@slow flint There's at least one ItsyBitsy in the works โ the nRF52840 that was on Top Secret in October.
i love it for its size, it runs the 8x8 great, part of a prop im workign on
I love the Feather family, but I definitely use ItsyBitsy, Teensy, Trinket, etc, if reduced size calls for it.
Yay! A six sided snowflake!
io used to always use (kinda still do for lower function projects) the trinket.
CPX family for quick prototyping and beginner friendliness --- Feather for flexibility and expansion -- and the ItsyBitsy, Teensy, Trinket, etc for custom, small-size applications. It's choosing the right tool for the job ๐
i would assume the feather (PRODUCT ID: 3857) is the best happy medium for my transition to feather
CPX and CPB are just plain fun, because there's so much already built in, and it's alligator clip friendly, so I can be super lazy about hacking a project.
oh, i abuse the CP, i have several around here as tools for tools
That's a really nice one, @slow flint .

@waxen thistle I liked it but wanted a split keyboard so I have a keyboard.io now
Night all! See ya next week!
I just ordered a couple of the ring lights.. I'm going to make Suzanne a makeup light with them (adding a dimmer).
I switched from a mouse and lenovo laptop keyboard to a model M and a trackball, and my joint pain went away.
I like my trackball too.
@rapid hornet Thanks for the info -- I'm on the hunt for something new & better than the standard magic keyboard.
And i have an old Unicomp -- a remake of the IBM Model M.
Which trackball do you have?
I got my eyes on this one https://ultimatehackingkeyboard.com/
Unicomp is the Model M. It's the same factory, they've just changed ownership a few times.
The Advantage2 is awesome. But once you get into ergonomic keyboards you won't stop looking or consider building your own (my next project). Check out mech keyboards on Reddit.
for a trackball, I use the logitech Trackman Marble Trackball.
@waxen thistle I have a CST. I don't like the thumb trackballs
Oh I know, it's a rabbit hole just looking at them. I picked up a few Razr/corsair mech keyboards from walmart when they were having a fire sale -- they're awesome as a standby or for a secondary machine.
But they all leave me wanting for something....more....
I use this now: https://shop.keyboard.io/
the palm key is awesome
I've been rocking a c1984 Sun3 workstation keyboard for about 6 years now.
been talking with @obra about getting a circuitpython keyboard too
My current trackball is a Kensington Expert wired -- it's nice, but feels a bit flimsy.
@waxen thistle , I'll save you time as I'm 2 years into that adventure. Eventually you'll find this and just can't resist: http://xahlee.info/kbd/diy_keyboards_index.html

A special mention goes to @clear matrix who saved the Makecode Minute when it was in freefall.
Teamwork makes the audio work.

@haughty quiver sounds like wireless mic pack battery weakening or interference with the antenna
