DUDE I just love that ice blue case.
Number one thing for people putting MakeCode Arcade games on PyGamer is to use that /beta URL otherwise the thumbstick won't work.
+1 for "i'm this little space duck"!
Lol.

Here's the Learn Guide for using Asset Tool: https://learn.adafruit.com/next-level-makecode-arcade-games
I recommend saving the .png of the game to a shared drive/server.
it's the floppy icon at the bottom.
it seems to be the simplest way to do "version control" at the moment.
just seems to save easier vs. the .uf2 which may try to save as WebUSB download instead.

I can also split my Macbook keyboard... grabs scissors..... um, on second thought, don't do that folks. ✂
@rapid hornet have you considered the kinesis keyboard? https://kinesis-ergo.com/
@waxen thistle That's not the key to making it work...
@waxen thistle that's actually what I have now
the advantage 2
but it isn't split and is a fixed tent
ah, gotcha -- i saw the concave key layout, and made me think....I've seen this before.
fixed. silly win10... 😄

Glad you made it, @odd stream
Speak n Spell is some sweet hardware.

It's part of a revolution in controllers.
Be nice to rotary encoders. What goes around, comes around.

Congrats!
Thanks

Congratulations, @sage aspen on joining Adafruit!
Thanks everyone 😃
With all the hard work you've done with CircuitPython, it's no surprise 😃
I can see @haughty quiver was driven to complete this game for Show & Tell.
He was responding to the Steering Committee.
He needs to stay properly caffeinated, or else he'll crash.
Development was slow at first, as he couldn't get the rubber to the road.
@wanton dome use plumbing terms! "Elbow", "T"... 😄 🚽
This guy;s keeping abreast of developments.
Did ladyada say Nashville?
@muted mesa perhaps.... I really like "euinelle" though
yeah...i can support sticking with that.
No one in the hangouts is laughing except for ladyada.
I think it was Ashville
Got it.
@ripe blade Does it help avoid noise in the ECG signal?
@slow spire it doesn’t completely avoid noise (noise in the ECG comes from a number of things), but since you isolate 60Hz a bit it does end up being relatively cleaner than normal as a result.
Hmmm. I've got an old Garmin hiding somewhere...
Without the isolator, I’ll usually hook up my ECG circuit directly to my Arduino that’s plugged into my computer via USB. With the isolator, the ECG circuit is solely powered by a separate battery and is isolated from the USB.
Thanks for sharing everyone!
thanks for sharing everyone!!!!
Thanks everyone. Keep up the great work.

So exciting to see all the momentum behind Circuit Python! I'm working on a couple of CPY projects right now and also trying to figure out how to get involved and contribute.
Thanks @open girder

Lol.
@dim wigeon there are a whole host of ways to contribute. you can ask in #circuitpython-dev, and i'm sure one of us circuitpythonistas will help you find something to contribute! for a "browsing list", here are a couple spots:

Question for @open girder: How the I2C and SPI Excamera devices deal with 5V vs 3.3V logic breakouts?
Those seem nice and simple to use.
The SPI one would be super handy for working on displays 🤔
Q: excameras - do they have "scroll back" on the display, or is there a data stream back to the Python script?

Thanks Adafruit
@dusty salmon Probably.
Thanks, everyone!
I kinda wonder: how many man hours are spent scraping the dross from the vats of molten solder? Would something like wine preserver work?
The selective soldering machine has to dispense onto the board contacts, than reclaim the excess. So there's always some contact with air, and whatever's on the board.
@slow spire hi! to answer your earlier question: i made the diffuser shown in my tweet with my vacuum former so there's a heater in that, but I haven't tried just free-form thermoforming that material with a heat gun or anything like that. i am playing with other shapes and will try to show next week on show and tell 😃
On a couple of Ask An Engineer shows, they have mentioned an app-in-progress that shows an AR (Augmented Reality) view of boards with information about the board superimposed on the image of the board. What software and libraries are being used to develop this app? Will it be available on Android devices? Thanks
most likely Apples iOS AR kit

Very cool project.
There was a Band in my hometown playing this song when remembering right.

You'll just edit the individual board files to match your pin mapping, on-board status LED's, etc. You can even add frozen libraries like the CPX. Do you have external SPI flash? I saw "EEPROM"

@paper peak EEPROM, not flash. Do I need flash instead?
Lol. That thumbnail says it all.
@ripe blade with SPI flash on board you can have a larger on-board CIRCUITPY filesystem for storing your code and libraries. IT's visible as a USB drive. Without an SPI flash chip you only have 64kB partitioned from the 256kB flash. Also we just came out with an Arduino library that can expose the on-board flash as a USB drive to the host computer: example: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_TinyUSB_Arduino/blob/master/examples/MassStorage/msc_external_flash/msc_external_flash.ino
if you do add on-board flash, choose a chip we're already using so you don't have to figure out the timing, etc.
adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
@paper peak oh this is perfect. Can I just peak at a few schematics to see which flash you guys are using or is there a master list by chance?

🍕 ⏱ 🎮 @haughty quiver's MakeCode Minute was 2min 16sec of perfect pizza pixel placement parameters! 🎮 ⏱ 🍕
I work at a school and we have a Computer Science program. I was wondering if Adafruit does purchase orders from school districts? I hate ordering parts for our Micro:bits from PLTW only. I need more of a variety and Adafruit helps.

@rocky reef Hello Pedro, I looked for your show today and it wasn't there. Did I miss something or did something change.
Long live that Make Controller ; ]
The Make Controller was my inspiration for making the Arduino ScrewShield kits w @cinder wind and Brian Jepson.
Bring back these Make: open source boards. Lol. I'm so down for a retro kit.
You'd be hard to find someone here who hasn't been inspired by or whose life wasn't directly influenced by Make.
Same
TheScreenSavers has come back, they have a whole streaming "channel" with the original hosts....
one of the guys has a show and he talks mostly about cell phones
forgot his name...cool person grrrrr lemme google it lol
The New Screensavers went belly up late last year and now Patrick Nortons Tekthing is no more as well
BIG Question. If some of these older Make: boards are no longer available (schematics got lost, etc.) anyone interested in a side project of remaking them and putting them on a repo or maybe even on Crowd Supply or something?
oh yea.....Leo Laporte!

Come on by @heavy siren -- it's gonna be fun!
The learn guides are what kept me buying Adafruit products -- such a wellspring to draw from. I love them, though my wallet might have other words to say 😛
I think it was the selective solder machine.
Though those who know more about it can speak in more detail.
I wish it were called a selective solder geyser
Old Faithful -- solder will erupt whenever a project is to be made.
@haughty quiver Ok, thanks, It's been a while and I really miss your show. I need to be careful though because I have left Adafruit and moved over to Element14.
And the solder pools are the hot springs.
They call it solder paste. I call it robot droppings.😜
i dont know how i went so long without using them
They are great.
Noe and Pedro's videos are so cleanly edited -- I'd be lying if I said I'm not a little jealous at their production quality 😃
Watching the videos tonight, the production is much more labor-intensive than I had thought.
I'm curious -- for a "silent" video like this that's a few minutes long, what would you say is your actual time (prep/recording/editing) to runtime?
Love the music.
So that's how the Stargate's Iris works!

Is there still plans for the NRF24l01+?
"What gets measured, gets done." (W.E. Demming, iirc)
EDIT: i recalled wrong. it was Peter Drucker (debated).
@swift turret I asked this question in #circuitpython-dev in a related discussion. Here was the reasoning. Which makes sense.
Good point!!
@muted mesa A corollary: "It doesn’t matter how precisely you measure something, if you’re not measuring the right things.“ ~ David McCandless
Yeah. Brilliant really.
@dim wigeon that's a good one too!

Hey hi hello there!
Got the AC on in my workshop. How about yours?
Here on the 3rd floor in NJ, even on a nice day in the mid 60s, it easily gets so stuffy. And I don't dare open the windows -- so much noise + pollution. So AC, always.
It's 90F+ here, but it's a dry heat today.

JOHN PARK'S WORKSHOP LIVE 6/13/19 Trash Panda @adafruit @johnedgarpark #adafruit
Is a Trash Panda an actual animal, or just any critter than messes with the rubbish bins?
A raccoon?
It's a cute name for a raccoon.
It's a raccoon, yes
Made famous in a NY video...climbing a tall building, I think it was.
Don't have those here but we have an abundance of urban foxes.
That's what we used to call the....never mind
@eager sapphire 🤔
Oh hey, that's one of my extensions 😃
That MakeCode Minute really pressed my buttons.

Now I'm confused.
@halcyon linden 👍
Ah, camera offset. Clever solution.

Trash Panda 2: The Raccoon Strikes Back
@sage aspen Which 96boards er… board is that? They're 1.8V logic?
Trash Panda 2: Day of Garbage
Like the shoes...
Ok, I have to give you credit -- biking in those shoes? That's awesome 😃
@sage aspen Might be interesting (but sort of niche-y?) to make a FeatherWing adapter board that has built-in level shifting between 1.8V and 3.3V.
I see @steep pilot will be a hit at Burning Man this year.
It's at least a Tindie opportunity, now that their platforms are about to get all that Adafruit wing support goodness.
Very niche-y since the 96boards connector isn't the same pinout as the raspberry pi and is a bit smaller.
Still, congrats on all the new board support for
Thanks
That is totally not easy work, and it's giving everyone more options. Very nice job @sage aspen 😄
Thanks @waxen thistle. I like the challenge of it.
I'm sure it's giving you lots of ideas about improvements facilitating portability.
@pearl shoal are these for students who have difficulty expressing themselves?
Oh i see. Wow. That’s really cool.
@pearl shoal 👍
Yep @ripe blade
@pearl shoal That's some awesome work 😃

@pearl shoal this is wonderful!

hi yall! just in time for AAE
A wild Sophy has appeared! She used 'wearable electronics', and it was super effective!
Hi, @lethal lagoon
hiyo 👋 @lavish patrol @waxen thistle
Hi @lethal lagoon
hi @sage aspen !
it's turtles all the way down
@pearl shoal will do
Faster 🐢 now!
Did everyone see what Simone did to her Tesla?
YESSSS
A pickup?
Someone suggested she call it a Tesla E-Camino
Oh cool. Saw the headline but didn't watch
@upbeat coral It's half an hour long but worth a watch.
@lavish patrol Yup. @lethal lagoon linked to it on one of my feeds.
Has Musk responded yet?
Cool. Will watch later
@pearl shoal I believe so.
He "liked" the tweet
That's kinda weak
@open girder I would totally wear Adafruit t-shirts, hoodies, ball caps, socks, etc.
@upbeat coral Noice.
@slow spire adafruit logo is for our boards , that said - we'll have other things that are from adafruit that folks can wear with some of the circuit playground art/ characters / blinka, etc.
my adabox arrived Monday in Southampton UK via Germany, East Midlands and London

@open girder I do have some of the pins.
Who you gonna call? Trash Panda!
adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
ooh i'll be there too, excited to see you there @sage aspen !
@slow spire yah, we've been good at avoiding things like "adafruit shot glasses" and things that folks do not want or will toss, that said - we have some things coming that are wearable and interesting 😃
I'd settle for AR app for Android
AT Makers totally embodies the culture and ethos of the maker movement 😃
are all adafruit boards open source hardware or just some, I might have been looking in the wrong place but I couldn't find Eagle Cad files for pyGamer?
As much as can be open source is open source, I believe, @dusty salmon
@fallow fractal yep, open source, if it's not there, we may have not uploaded it yet
Your name suggestion was great, @inner spade !
that's just lack of time sometimes
Rapid development 😃 [for trash panda 2's graphic]
I'm happy to see shipping prioritized slightly above documentation. 😃
@haughty quiver Trash Panda 3 will be Rise of the Dumpsters...
More Trash Panda happiness around our house.
oh good!
Microsoft is totally not the company I remember back in 2007. It has changed much for the better.
I live in the country where Trash Panda(s) aren't so funny. Rabies issues, trash to clean up, etc..
BUT, I love thatb game
Agreed @waxen thistle
Agreed, @waxen thistle . Optimistic that it will continue that way.
Is Trash Panda climbing a skyscraper?
OSHA needs to investigate that building, there are bricks falling EVERYWHERE 😛
@waxen thistle How does Windows fare nowadays? I've been in the Linux world for a couple years now.
yah, mario and luigi are plumbers, and plumbers can be a problem too
Go for it
trash panda climbs the UBS building, that is what trash pandas do
@dusty salmon yes -- there was a real life event of one climbing the UBS building in Minneapolis a year ago or so.
Thanks @haughty quiver
⏱ 🎮 @haughty quiver's MakeCode Minute was 1min 44sec of the Konami Code! 🎮 ⏱

Fast Blinka is awesome
looks faaaaaaaasssssst!
@lavish patrol to be honest, it's not my primary OS but they're always improving. And competition is good.
Warp speed - Make it so
@lavish patrol All *nix, all the time.
@waxen thistle I'm considering whether to move to Mac. 🤔
@upbeat coral I've already had a cup of Earl Grey (hot) today.
@waxen thistle I did a hackathon using Google's cross platform Flutter to develop mobile apps on iOS, using Google's suggested MS VS Code IDE. The world has changed.
I stopped moving so much away because they started doing MakeCode. I was moving everything to Raspbian linux.
@lavish patrol Older 2008-2015 macbook pros are on the used market, and many of them are on the cheap. Surprisingly, they've aged incredibly well. [this is being typed on a late-2013 MBP, my daily driver for nearly 6 years now]
Nice. My 2011 MacBook Air was awesome for about 7 years.
@waxen thistle Thanks. Once I've moved house I'll be giving it serious consideration. 🤔
When my son passed, I inherited his Macbook from 2003-2004. Just haven't had the heart to do anything with it.
@upbeat coral Feels.
Thanx
Am I the only person that strongly dislikes pythons indentation based syntax?
@upbeat coral I would put it aside, and open it up occasionally to remind myself and relive.
@dusty salmon Ditto here.
@dusty salmon I used to hate it, but I've gotten used to it. shrug
thanks again for the Qwiic joystick lib, @heavy violet !
note: it and you were mentioned on Ask An Engineer.
I like those different colored headers!
Nice soldering, @haughty quiver
Thanks!
@dusty salmon I once spent about half a day trying to fix five lines of code. It turns out you can't mix tabs and spaces. 😠
I'm going to be just a bit self-conscious now about what I post.
@lavish patrol I know right
I'll be using those headers to distinguish between M4 and M0 and ItsyBity and Feather boards.
Indeed very nice @split gazelle !
@lavish patrol The indent thing in Python became a lot less frustrating for me when I got editors and IDEs that catch those sorts of mistakes for me.
@inner spade that's a nice idea. I think I'll do similar so I don't need to put on reading glasses to check which board I pick up...
Most code I find online is spaces and I like tabs, forever a hindrance.
I'd changed editors, which is what tripped me up.
@haughty quiver M0 = black, M4 = yellow
down at the bottom there in Chrome browser window, Google has a link about the 4-H news.

@open girder I don't get boosters at all. Someone needs to explain them to me. Like I'm 5.
always loved the thinkgeek emails and cheeky product descriptions
@slow spire It's a revenue stream for Discord. An incentive for folks to contribute $10/month to Discord, it "unlocks" different levels of perks for Discord servers.
Ohhhhh. So it's something I need to buy. That's not new hardware.
I sold wooden mystery boxes I made through Think Geek at one point. A few moons ago.
@haughty quiver You sold a few moons? 😉
You were too early for the loot box craze, @haughty quiver
That's no moon, that's a space station.
I still have a moon left for sale @lavish patrol ...
yeah, sad to see ThinkGeek fold. Slasdot, TK, SourceForge...were once on my regular websurf rotation.
@haughty quiver Is it made of cheese?
Or stars?
That's very Gouda, @lavish patrol
Did you ever finish your escape room @haughty quiver ?
Lol.
If that's what you'd like, yes @lavish patrol :)
Savage Builds is sooo good! Love seeing Adam working with so many other talented and creative folks!
@dusty salmon I created many of those effects and gags for a storytelling escape room mystery experience event called The Mystery of the 49 Boxes. They hold the events in different places including Two Bit Circus.

@slow spire I forgot about the games that PT mentioned....you get access to a pretty decent amount of games to play while you're a booster.
Maybe they're cotton candy.
Gems?
I'm craving carbs.
They're the ones boosting the server 😃
Oh.

@lavish patrol you mean, there are instances of Not Hammer Time? 😮

If a starship leaves earth with an atomic clock orbits a planet orbiting another star for a year and returns assuming no discrepancy from travel would the atomic clock be out of step with one that stayed on earth?
'night, all
going to wash out my ear.
@dusty salmon Yes, don't even need to go that far, GPS satellite clocks run faster than ones on earth, measurably so: they run fast about 45μs due to GR and 7μs slow due to SR, for a net difference of 38μs faster per day.
