Greetings all you good people. Once again we find ourselves in the font of knowledge that is S&T. 😀
What are we talking about? Dvorak? I prefer Mozart myself...
oh the New World Symphony is exquisite
I happen to like it but there are a few issues with coding. I don't mind
good evening my new adafruit friends
I feel a S&T coming on.
@rapid hornet Can you post the link to Show and Tell and tag here?
hey kitten you made it!
Release the hounds.
something magical is happening
@rapid hornet I meant tagging @here since I don't think we can.
Thanks!
We are live!
Good evening all you wonderful people!

@here Show and tell is live! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWLzajsi6EQ
Cool project, Kattni.
Thanks!
Oh cool, just in time.
"It's kinda bonkers..." This is how the best projects begin, @lethal lagoon
that's what i was thinking!
"Use a light hand!"
Nice project. Sophy
@lethal lagoon You could mount them inside a glove.
@lavish patrol That's what I was thinking
i'll jump out so someone else can get in
@rocky reef you can remind folks about the sticker too
a little late but hey everybody!
@split gazelle Hello!
Heya @split gazelle !
Hi @split gazelle !
hi @split gazelle !
Hello.
heyo!
An engineer is never early or late, she or he arrives at precisely the time they intended.
JMK reminds me of me at that age except he is smart and creative and I was busy eating glue. But other than that ... yeah ...
was that an invite? 😄
@soft idol Perhaps that's why you stick around?
HAHAHA
@split gazelle Are you showing anything today?
ooooh pretty
This is a cool project! Truly a sound idea
You are so awesome, JMK ! I enjoy your projects.
I'm taking notes on it!
@river peak i was going to but my project is still WIP level so I'll wait until it's done
wow that is such a cool instrument
That synth is amazing!
synth-tacular!
Can you do the close encounters theme? 😃 😃 👽
@split gazelle Next week perhaps
He should call it an Alexphone.
@glossy glacier Has a guest!
more 🔬 !
Not used to seeing you fully lit, @glossy glacier !
Welcome to PatchCable City!
"It's been a process" - Spoken like a true engineer
piles of wires are very cyberpunk, i love it
@hard hollow Remember to circle back to Kitten 😃
Kids nowadays. With their rock & roll and electron microscopes!
That thing looks like a rocket.🚀
UC Santa Cruz? Go Banana Slugs! 🍌 🐌
@vernal mulch if you would like, my glowforge just came. I can make a better lens if you send me photos of the empty socket
It's raining in Seattle always?
Rip her mic
There's an echo. IS someone not muted properly?
@river peak I looked and don't think so
super pretty necklace @steep pilot
thanks!
Squishy buttons!
That is a very nice necklace, I'd love to see how it's made -- might make that for a special someone 😃
Woa! Big matrix.
Woah. I know kung-fu. Wait, wrong matrix.
@covert stag Fun!
that's awesome @covert stag !
sweet @covert stag great job!
@covert stag excellent stuff!!!
Very bling-gy @covert stag !
thanks everyone! see you...wait, none of you are leaving right? 😄
every one had cool stiff
Thanks @hard hollow and @rocky reef for hosting! Great job guys!
Good job - set a record, dudes!
stuff
@hard hollow @rocky reef Thanks for hosting! Amazing job!
🎵
thanks @hard hollow && @rocky reef
The crowd goes wild!
😦 got distracted with dinner and didn't make it in.
@odd stream Mmmm dinner
@odd stream so close!
Yay
Something fancy?
oh yeah. i should make some of that dinner stuff...
Do tell, what was on the menu? 😃
Homemade chicken soup with dumplings.. so it was pretty distracting.
@odd stream Sounds worth it
If I have a mechanical project I plan On automating, can I show it
@void hollow Doesn't even have to be an electronics project
I'm sorry @haughty quiver, i'm distracted by @odd stream chicken soup with dumplings. I'm sure you'll understand if I don't give you my full attention!
@odd stream it was a quick show
Yeah, I caught the last bit
what is the link for ask an engineer?

The usual /live i think
Now to edit build videos and work on part 3 of the series.
Showing as “john park’s workshop”, live 4/4/18
Ask an Engineer tonight is Ask a John Park.
"Ask another Engineer"
Exactly 😃
So, thinking about it - Isn't Show and Tell basically "In Soviet Russia, Engineer Ask YOU!"?
also, if you're on Twitch, http://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
Thanks., but I do not see a John Park. Am I early?
And JP is so hip, it should be “Whassup Engineer”
Yep starts at 8!
on in 5 min, thanks!
Thanks.
kind of funny to hear the discord notification noise during the streams, i'm always like, wait - is that me or in the stream?
😄
its Park @haughty quiver time
Park. John Park. He has a license...to MAKE. /adabox007
Love the music.
No Ask an Engineer tonight?
I was just going to ask that....
It's "ask JP" tonight
It's a mystery. We won't know until it starts.
@viral sail Lady Ada/PT are heading to DC if I remember correctly.
Thanks.
Also, totally think @haughty quiver should do pink hair.
i think i'm going to save my tattoo for open hardware summit
@split gazelle Nice 😃
Maybe I should get an actual Blinka tattoo....
hi @analog acorn !
@analog acorn Yes.
Hi Sophy!!!
adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
@analog acorn Hello!
@river peak JP with pink hair AND a badger beard.
@odd stream YES.
A Limor/PT mashup...
I, for one, support beards regardless of the shape or size they come in 😃
@haughty quiver Pink hair & badger beard... DO IT!
There should be an app for that
"Look Ma! No hands!"
Mouse jiggling in LA = earthquake?
love the tats 😃
Earthquake in LA -> your mouse jiggles
think make a hair coloring software what color john hair to pink and you need to use jupiter notebooks to it
Then your computer jiggles. Then it gets thrown upside down onto you.
why in it that the gemma has make code and the flora doesn't\ ?
Would not want to be under a SEM during a quake
@covert stag SAMD21
Live demo gremlins!
I was in a raised-floor, cable-tray datacenter in NJ during the DC earthquake a few years back.
@haughty quiver MAybe it's just camera shy
eili5
Not to be confused with Rubber Ducky Debugging 🦆
tee hee
Or Duck Hunt. Yes, I spy that NES zapper behind you.
@waxen thistle Doubly so
https://hakshop.com/products/usb-rubber-ducky-deluxe for others what @haughty quiver mentioned
was the first bit of code a ardunio code or python.
Does it not have a setting for Linux?
it would likely be harder to no on nix
@haughty quiver Sorry about my crazy Mac setup 😄
i just learned about apple scripts from another source and it's making me wish i hadn't abandoned macOS
@vernal mulch open the REPL and type ctrl+c
You needed to put it into the code, to have an option to stop it, like John's grounding option.
if (os == 'Windows') exec("install linux")
John Park is so right regarding the USB drive rootkit. Beware folks. It's a very common technique among those who are bad folks.
Also never plug in an unknown USB drive (like one you found lying around) into ANY computer.
a buddy used to have a pi he would cleen drives with
at the school i work at we get a ton of USB sticks left in classrooms every week and a few of my coworkers insist on plugging them into their computers to see if they can see a name on a PPT slide to return it to which then causes me to launch into a PSA-style soliloquy on the importance of never doing that
A "Disposable" computer of some sort, like a Pi that @covert stag mentioned, is a fairly safe way to do it.
And they roll their eyes at this... I’ll bet
@split gazelle Seems like a nightmare
@odd stream in windows 7 it might do that
well it's an os that most kits can't run on
Just have to experience a hack once, then they’ll listen.
@covert stag AND it's easily re-flashable.
Air-gapped disposable computers are excellent.
Fully virtual puter works too
@eager sapphire think those awesome MI projects you could do
"I didn't just admit that"... lol
@muted mesa What's that, I walked away for 2 seconds 😛
Where is a good place to shop for starting to build a workshop? Like that dotted wall board for hanging all the tools up
yeah, no clue what he didn't admit. its gonna bug me. 😉
John need to hack shirt so it have camera
Monitorception.
At my work, they just had everyone exchange any USB thumbdrives they use for encrypted ones that need a 7-digit+ code before recognized by the OS and disabled access to any non-encrypted drives (not sure if they activated that yet). Still not hacker proof if they have physical access to your computer....
That camera's having a lot of trouble focussing.
☹
Of course, mice and keyboards still work normally in such an environment, so that would not block a device like what John is demonstrating
Does anyone know the key command to get all of your open windows to line up make them more easily view-able?
in Win 10
Cascade, maybe?
@ivory kiln I just drag to border/corner.
screen capture from other device
I think the cops are coming. Something's going down. 😯
I have a window that opened off screen n I can't drag it
Pretty nefarious voice for an Apple.
@inner spade It's also slowed down.
The Five-Oh found ya! They aren't happy with you being a super secret spy hacker, John!
@eager sapphire , yes, that's right.
I think you use the MOVE command that shows up on the tool bar button for the window
@ivory kiln ohhh...i know this. but, i forgot it. 😦
@haughty quiver The camera's not on the display
wrong monitor on the monitor...
This is the imagination part of the show...
You're welcome, @haughty quiver 😃
ok got it
That "Hello Friend" is pretty creepy
scaratch that.
Yikes! That's the ghost of Stephen Hawking.
that sounds soo wierd. lol
The discount code tonight is ITSYBITSY for 10% off your Adafruit order!
Who's become a lock-picking expert?
Thanks @muted mesa 😃
payload for linux 2?
Yay. ASCII art.
Ha, Whoever looks through the site analytics on search queries is going to be scratching their head.
😆
I love ASCII
@haughty quiver Tonight's code is ITSYBITSY
Need to dig out my Teensy 3.6. The HID stuff is fun
Thanks @haughty quiver that was very informative.
Thank you, @haughty quiver !!!
@haughty quiver Thanks for a great show!
I think @haughty quiver 's code is just ducky
Tonight's alternate code is QUACKQUACK for 10% off your order 😄
QuackQuack to search quaries
Thanks @haughty quiver!
I think John's quackers. 🦆
@haughty quiver Fantastic job with tonight's show!
Good stuff... Glad I made it to one finally @haughty quiver
now if you make arrows what Quack @haughty quiver
Those might not be all they're quacked up to be
awesome stream @haughty quiver ! i'm usually hopping on a train during your normal time slot so it was great to see your show live
Thanks John, great show!
excellent show @haughty quiver. way to fill in! (next time, pink hair)... 😄
great stream @haughty quiver 🙌
Quack Quack your Adabox007
Thanks and good night.
Thanks @haughty quiver I am planning on using this to upgrade my photo booth, it'll replace my Arduino and give me more options
Agreed with @split gazelle - I'm usually not around when @haughty quiver 's workshop is
Thanks guys, I need a wig a least @muted mesa
Ok, off to walk home and unbox my new Hakko FX-951...
Yeah
@covert stag Donald Duck.
@haughty quiver or you do HID so it color person hair virtually
@analog acorn So exciting!
LOL, actually, it is!
Alfred Duck
@analog acorn That looks interesting
mask your hair control what use smart mirror and camera
@severe inlet that's really interesting, having a pin for the drive to show up
with HID control so you can change color
@analog acorn Whoa.. that looks nice!
@covert stag Darkwing Duck
@young swan there are some good books from Make on starting a workshop, check those out. also some good free pdfs on starting a school STEM program on this. I'll find the links
Now I'll go watch the Adabox007 unboxing video to find out what other goodies are in it.
@haughty quiver thank you 🙏
I got the box today and it blew my mind. It was the first one I have received since I signed up and it felt like I was a kid at christmas. Really excited to work on these projects
It really is a good mix of projects and toys
Daring duck of mystery
@young swan that's awesome thanks for letting us know!
Champion of right
Thanks everyone!
Swoops out of the shadows
Darkwing owns the night
🦆 🦆 🦆 🦆 🦆
@young swan here's the book I was thinking of https://www.makershed.com/products/the-makerspace-workbench
I should see if my library has that
@haughty quiver Awesome! I will definitely give this a read, but what I've read already is inspiring me to go out and find some spaces that are likely already around the city
i think it was in a humble bundle at one point...they do have a maker book bundle right now that includes the hardware hacker book, some arduino books among others
@muted mesa @waxen thistle I definitly didn't admit to being a teenage phone phreak...
Whatever you say, Captain Crunch.
@young swan that's great, finding people and community for making is terrific.
@haughty quiver Enjoyed the workshop show tonight. Had to miss the last few minutes (the band's CD release is tonight), so I'll check it out when it's posted to youtube.
I was never what you'd call a phone freak (my youth was misspend... I should have learned some black hat skills), but I have build blue boxes.
i started a box back in the day, but never finished it. had the wrong priorities at the time. 😄
HE is mine hands OFF
Before touch tone, I used to phreak my parent's rotary phone line from the basement workshop with stepping relays. Could only dial out like a regular phone, but it seemed like I was getting away with something. Many years later, my dad told me that he could always tell -- stepping relays were noisy. Touch-tone opened lots of new doors...
intresting
@inner spade that’s cool! I learned to switch-hook dial for fun, and once used it on a phone w a rotary dial lock :)
@haughty quiver Ah yes. Switch-hook dialing is just learning to play another percussion instrument. 😉
I am suddenly wondering if anyone has made that weird instrument from Futurama
Sorry topic reminded me of it.
I see @hard hollow is a Pathfinder
@shell mason The organization or the game?
@shell mason I actually got that hat for 5 bucks from ThinkGeek.com 🤓
@odd stream this what @hard hollow was wearing in 3D hangout show https://www.biowarestore.com/pathfinder-cap

supergoth!
huh, that's an impressive little MCU. I wonder if there's a version with an ethernet MAC
there's a few PHY, yeah
not many MCUs with the PHY on board. the TI Tiva-C comes to mind, but that's pricey
Sounds like a job for CircuitPython!
to actually integrate all the TCP/IP concerns
Is the video feed gone for everyone?
I wondered recently, how can you combine the bootloader binary with a user program/example program?
Video feed is back, you just gotta make sure you're live
went out for a few secs @unborn cairn came back
OK. Thanks
Everybody start wearing purple
It's getting to that tough point where there's so much 5V legacy, but everything modern is 3.3V, possibly not even 5V tolerant
Thanks!
thanks ya'll!
Thank you!
thanks folks
@glad mortar not sure what you mean? do you mean loading an example prog on the the board when we add the bootloader?
@mint harness do you know when the crossover happened?
@paper peak when you flash a brand new board, you are flashing the bootloader and an example program that is running. I was wondering how that is done, do you combine these two binaries in some way or are you just flashing them on after another to a different address in the flash?
Not sure how the testers are done. One reason to flash the bootloader separately is to test that it can load an example program.
There's no distinct crossover point, but over the past 5 years, things have gone even more 3.3V
adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
twitch bot is late
what's next? 1.3/1.5/1.8?
1.8 or 2.5v are the next two lower common voltages
especially 1.8v, in lower power devices
but a great many of the current 3.3V devices would also be quite happy at 1.8V. well, at least 1.8V IO, they might still want a 3.3V supply
Hi
Everyone are out @north thicket

good morning folks!

Neopixel trampoline? Great project for the spring time.
Chuck Barris
that's so awsesome @rocky reef
Now, does that project dial the alpha site?
in high school i managed to hit a gong so hard that it fell off its admittedly very old rope that it was hanging on 😅
@spring heath Indeed.
ohh modes
Wooop wooop!!!! Im back!!!!!!
I like!
Very cool @haughty quiver !
What happened?
@split gazelle I'm sure that made a REALLY loud gong sound.
video unavailable but comes back when i refresh
Video unavailable, according to YT
I see see you folks!
Same issue here, have to refresh to bring it back
video on youtube is working here
Also, @open girder YouTube feed died and many of us had to refresh.
@river peak the band director was never very happy with me but he was especially not happy with me that day
still there, I refreshed browser and pushed play
Reload fixed it here
still up
@split gazelle Are band directors ever happy?
ya maybe a youtube bug update???
ohh shiny!
We have much to talk about @inner spade ;)
@waxen thistle i had a wonderful percussion director in college who was quite jolly but that's about it haha
@split gazelle Did they drum up some laughs?
It really reverberated I'd imagine!
@haughty quiver Indeed. I've had one of those voice chips in my wish list for a while.
it's really impressive what it does. basically, everything my modular does at a 1/100th of the cost!
Cool.. I'm waiting for my batch of Tamu boards
Googlefruit
shouldn't the learn page me the most popular?
@covert stag Well, it's easy to skip the main learn page and just hit the learn thing you want.
I often end up hitting the product page and jumping to the learn page from there.
Is there a link that’ll show who is on the list for S&T on any given night?
About to drop out, if anyone wants to jump in feel free

Yes! Repurposed food container 😃
this is wonderful!
@dusk tiger let me know if you need tips about the fft work
we'll likely need a way to capture a bunch of samples in a row
wow, that paint job is wow
@vernal mulch I love the young makers, always so creative.
YAS multimedia keys!
Oh, nice
@rapid hornet That would be much needed... thx!
@dusk tiger I'm on discord during the week usually
Very good work Dan
this is terrific, @paper peak great to have this in Cpy

Growing in... ew. Yeah, that needs a solution.
@vernal mulch nice site
1 sec
Oh, I see you have anti-raiding.
Oooh, neat! This is definitely a project to be pumped up about
Have you guys trying making PCBs at all?
mine
*tried
no
@fallow fractal I have
How'd that go?
is it cool?
Yes, it's neet.
It's... not as easy as you might want, but it's SO rewarding.
I'm practicing curing the solder mask resin.
@river peak I need to make a bad joke finder bot
JLC is nice.
did ya get the invite @fallow fractal
Yes.
ok
great projects tonight everyone!
Yes.
I am currently working on a UV exposure box.
Roberto you need to add a hookup for a air compressor to push or bees through
You stick a PCB inside, shut it in, and it gets exposed by about 50 40 watt UV lights.

ummmm

theoretically microsoft could own adafruit one day
Maybe you guys should buy MS?
"Theoretically" is one of my favorite and also least favorite words.
"Literally" is another one of those magic words.
don't get me started on that one
Also, "Technically"
that's great that it's aimed at middle school kids. it's really hard to find programs that target that age group effectively
they literally changed the definition
@river peak which means Microsoft now owns Radio Shack, too.
As someone who works with 4H, it's such a challenge to be successful in getting interest and retaining it.
I thought amazon owned RS ?
All of the above. None of the above.
Radafruit-soft?
@strong bramble you should show @inner spade your string car
@inner spade likes string cars.
Cool string robot!
Ugh. Cardboard. I hate cardboard. In the same way that people hate spicy foods, or avocado toast, or whatever.
Yes I do.

I need the How It's Made guy to start talking.
@pearl shoal nah just refresh
Are all of the boards tested like that? Or is it a random selection from a batch?
sorry to have missed show and tell today, looking forward to catching up later though and seeing everyone's projects
Speaking of lasers - is there a particular laser head you recommend, @dim knot ?
@heady scarab All of em
@heady scarab they are all tested
Rainbow time!
Was that a raspberry pi as the tester?
@paper peak thanks that's awesome!
@charred mason for the Circuit Playground? Yes
Nice!
@charred mason Not all of the testers are pi based. Some of em are Arduino based.
Ooo, that's a very HOT printer!
Glad you're addressing this
Wait, wrong printer.
each part has it's own tester
Is there a link to the source? Or has it been sent upstream to the Marlin core?
@pearl shoal on my post and it's on github now
Still, I'll echo my PSA from before -- would you leave a soldering iron on unattended? Absolutely not. A 3D printer is pretty much the same thing -- with a huge roll of combustible material in close proximity. Please -- don't leave your 3D printer unattended. Accidents do happen.
@waxen thistle 100% agree
And a mess is often left behind, if not a fire.
laser cutters and 3d printers should be attended
yay @clear matrix !
Entire reels unspooled and melted looking like a giant plate of inedible spaghetti
All workshops should have a smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm, and a fire extinguisher within arm's reach too.
I didn't just hear "interrupts" and "circuitpython" in the same sentence, did I?
I read @eager sapphire 's as "Industrial Spaghetti"
@fallen rivet nah, it uses generators
ah, ty.
(they may have said interrupt but its generators to maintain position in a pattern)
The little intern is doing good testing on the project
Sounds like they had their ups and downs building it too!
It was truly a bright idea
They had problems, but were able to bounce back
@river peak Aaaaaaaahhhh it hurts
Adabox 007 is awesome!
And now you know where the term "bouncing baby boy" comes from
i wish i could still get a 007 box
@fair pebble will be in store for stand alone soon to get!
oh, cool!
Hints for 008?
ohh new video!
i'm definitely gonna get one too, the spy stuff is so cool!

our low prices are just the tip of the iceberg

Does it list the force required to engage a switch?
Fully Adjustable PCB Clamp Holder - Pro's Kit SN-390 https://www.adafruit.com/product/3791
I had one of these holders for years before I upgraded to a uber panavise
That looks similar to the one I have
@odd stream perfect for your long probe type boards
Was just thinking it might be somehow easier to use than an Uber panavise...but that panavise is too versatile
i also have a similar one. i'd say it's more handy than a third hand
also good for buttering your corn cob
That circuit board holder has me spinning in circles!
@eager sapphire The panavise rotates fine as well... just different
The uber pannavise is easier to adjust with the crank.
I have the giant circuit board mount for it, just haven’t used it in a few years

@pearl shoal Full agreement!
Any plans for an equivalent screen in a Feather Wing?
really cute cricket, also yay m4!
Carry those sweet shirts in the shop?
Impeached cobbler! That sounds amazing. They missed everything.
any chance of adding the new chip to some of the other popular boards, because more RAM is nice
@open girder Just replace "State Department" with "Solid State Department" and it becomes tech-y
So, when will there be an Adafruit T-Shirt?
I would so love an M4 Flora
The most memorable meal I've had in DC was crabcakes for brunch at a slightly divey place. No idea where now.
We want quality fun schwaaaaag
I think it's awesome that you're donating back to the foundation on the badge
adafruit cake would be so fruitful of electornics
@river peak They were some really good crabcakes.
Now I want crabcakes.
the crabcake is a lie
On the plus side, I do live in Maryland so that makes getting crabcakes significantly easier.
there is crab rave music video
They could have a "third rate Burger"
(only the old people will get that)
(The White House said they were sick of all the questions about that "third rate burglary")
@winged sigil Thanks again for another wonderful evening of shows!
Good shows!
Thanks Adafruit.
Thank you!

Oh no, what happened to Mosfet???
And now I know, and I am crying.
😥
going live!
Getting signal!
It's a-live!
Mike's gone dead.
No audio
John's talking in password. 😀
Okay now.
The DSP-G1 is a Jan Ostmann code project
"wrap" is probably a waveform skew/warp function
the T is silent... 😄
It's easier to say than phthalate.
Without thpitting at leatht.
adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
A bit late, Twitch
webhook delay perhaps
Delay seems to be the flavor of the month, it seems.
Very SciFi. 😬
Can you make it sound like a lightsaber?
very diatonic
@haughty quiver 30ms wait has to do with the HT16K33 chip itself. register/buffer collision avoidance if i recall the sheet correctly.
Sounds gone again.
Helicopter going by? THEY FOUND YOU, Secret Agent Adabox 007.
Quick! To the chopper.
Agent Park John Park
A NeoPixel / RGB Trellis would be nice...
Ah, Mr Park. We meet again.
@inner spade totally agree! but, that's beyond my current knowledge of "how to".
The led controller on the PCB is limited to single color only. Perhaps design a new PCB...
Time to start-up KiCad...
so think have RGBW
Dotstar might have the right form factor.
👋
Thanks for the show, John. Lots of ideas swimming around in my head now...
everybody type we're famous on youtube now
Audio died again
Thumbs way up on this one @haughty quiver , thank you
at-at mod to with synthesizer so legs ground hit cause to play sequence and so on
Thanks for an awesome show! Cheers!
thanks @haughty quiver ! Trells4Life! 😄
@shell mason Thumbs up for that.
Trying to get some projects done today and now I'm distracted. Thanks! 😉
right?! @muted mesa I totally LOVE trellis.
thanks for the help @cinder wind it worked great! All hum GONE
Great workshop tonight @haughty quiver !
thank you very much @lavish patrol and @eager sapphire
@haughty quiver This will be perfect for the one-voice dedicated synth I need for the Runaway solo.
The phrase that pays today is "Friends don't let friends use breadboards for audio circuits." - Tod Kurt @cinder wind
Grazie @waxen thistle
A pity it doesn't rhyme.
It's going into my log of useful maker quotes.
I bought some batteries, but they weren't included.
So I had to buy them again.
- Steve Wright
@inner spade that's terrific!
Roses are red
Audio is buzzing
Please don't use a breadboard
Or else Mr. Certainly will be punning.
Nailed it.
Ninja edit too.
@haughty quiver Have you had a chance to look at the raw sine/tri/square output on the o'scope? Ladyada mentioned that she thought the output was PWMed, but the documentation talks about a DAC output.
The LPC810 that the DSP-G1 is based on does not have a DAC it appears, so I think it must be PWM
Makes sense. It's a 44.1KHz Delta-Sigma DAC which would be pulse-density rather than PWM.
yes, he says it's a "16-bit 44.1KHz Sigma-Delta PDM" in the manual.
@void widget says Jan had released the source code at one point. I haven't found it, but this blog post from Jan says the same, just no link I see: https://janostman.wordpress.com/2016/10/13/the-dsp-g1-source-code-released/
here is the source for his DSP-D8 drum synth: https://janostman.wordpress.com/the-dsp-d8-drum-chip-source-code/
Thanks. It'll fit perfectly inside my Axiom-61 controller, watching the MIDI stream output so that it can be controlled by the keyboard or from upstream. Mono output is perfect for my application.
excellent!
Probably will need an external arpeggiator, too. Scope creep.
@haughty quiver the G1 source appears in an archive.org capture
I got it back when it was live
Looks like the code to this is very similar to the DSP-G1: https://www.hackster.io/janost/the-dsp-gplug-midi-synth-80b2aa
Should be fairly straightforward to build some MIDI helpers around CircuitPython's UART library. I heard rumors that a CPy Trellis library may be in the works.
"in the works"? is done! 😄
"Verified rumors."
If they are "verified" then they are not exactly rumors...
If you started with a rumor, and a signficiant time passes, and only then get verification ... (dot dot dot)
That's different from the Time Cube guy finding an entry in Webster's 1913 edition of their Dictionary and ... (more dot dot dot)
😮 he died
Now that's skill
jeez, how many horcruxes does the guy have?

All i know is that this fan is a storm on full blast
Hey @hard hollow or @rocky reef would you guys have the ability to 3D print something that is somewhere around 2 feet long? lol
Ah ok! One of my friends is going to model me a new frame for a new air gun (version 3 of the nerf fan gun you guys have seen) And the shell is pretty much going to be 3d printed
Thanks, guys
thanks for watching folks!
Have fun tonight! My son's coming over for dinner & gaming so I can't make it. I'll watch the recording later tonight.

Hello, all. Here we are again. 😉
That's how this works, right?
Everyone gathers for the feast...
You can check out the code anytime you'd like, but you can't ever leave....
They stab it with their steely knives...
They just can't compile the beast.
Welcome to the Adafruit Show and Tell. Such a lovely place.
