#why isn't TEdit making a .TEdit file when saving?

I just started using TEdit v4.16 and whenever I save, a new file isn't created and it just trys to overwrite the previous world file. Because of this, no matter what I've tried when I open up the world none of my edits are saved. From what I've seen normally a .TEdit file should be made, but that isn't happening for me. How do I fix this, am I just being dumb?

The .TEdit is a backup file. Did you disable the automated backups?
