YOu could install proxmox then that is the easiest way. You might want to invest in a second IP then

When doing the vm install on proxmox for ubuntu server. I get this error after I have set everything up. [FAILED] Failed unmounting /cdrom.

You need to manually disconnect the ISO from the VM
