i keep setting the view/render distance in my minecraft server to 32 chunks but it keeps resetting to 16 which is very annoying why is that?

Are you stopping your server, changing it in the file, and then starting it?

Yes thats what i do everytime

the max players line and the view distance line both reset whenever i change them in the server.properties file
they dont reset until i turn the server back on
