Banned From Multiplayer πŸ›‘ battleye

If you received the message: 'You are banned from playing multiplayer', you were likely banned by Unturned's anti-cheat provider, BattlEye. More information regarding appeals, techincal support, and errors regarding BattlEye can be viewed on the SDG Support Site sdg.

Server Modified Map Version πŸ–₯️ πŸ—ΊοΈ

The map files you have installed likely do not match with the map files currently being used on the server you are attempting to join. Normally, the problem is from either outdated workshop files or a local copy of the map. In some cases, the server may not be using the latest version of the map available on the Steam Workshop (steam).

Some fixes for the problem include:

#

Unofficial Modules Not Supported RocketMod battleye

This kick reason is normally displayed when you have a module installed in your 'Modules' folder within the local game files. To resolve the issue, remove any installed modules from that folder. Most of the time, users leave RocketMod installed by mistake, but with the emergence of newer third-party modules, this issue may become more common.

Chart Displays Sand Texture πŸ”¨ πŸ—ΊοΈ

Chart colors are normally determined by the height of the terrain. Your terrain is likely assumed to be sand because of its low elevation (this is tied to water elevation). One fix for this is to place a cartography volume and resize/move it until the chart appears properly. This video provides a good explanation of the volume, despite it not being a tutorial.

UI Scaling Too Large πŸ’» πŸ”¨

Go into your command line settings for Unturned and put -ui_scale 1, this should allow you to access the menus properly in-game so you can actually reset your UI settings.

Buggy In-Game Editor (Rotated map elements, etc) πŸ—ΊοΈ πŸ“

Unturned grabs map files by name, so if you have two maps installed that have the same name, you'll have to change the name of the map you are editing to something different. Go into the Unturned Local Game Files and access the 'Maps' folder, then rename the folder of your map to something else. Remember, your map folder name is the name of your map.

How to Enter the Admin Workzone ('Advanced Build Mode') banned βš’οΈ

In-game, if you would like to precisely transform buildables, you can use workzone. In-game, press Shift-F6, you'll then have a UI and a set of tools available to you, similar to that of the map editor.

Unturned on a Chromebook πŸ’» Chrome

You can install Unturned through Steam on Chromebook models that support Linux. You can follow this guide. Through Steam, you should be able to run Unturned. Please be aware that the hardware on most Chromebooks will fail to keep up with an excessive amount of workshop mods if you wish to enjoy modded servers.

Random Vehicle Under Map (Cargo Train) RocketMod πŸ”¨

If you happen to find a cargo train underneath the map while playing in multiplayer, it is because someone is using /vanish with RocketMod4. This has been a thing for a long while. However, hopefully with the emergence of RocketModFix, someone will make a better implementation of /vanish.

Removing Map Objects Provided By Uninstalled Mods πŸ—ΊοΈ πŸ› οΈ

If you would like to remove map objects that were from mods that you no longer have installed, you can use the command line -NoPreserveMissingObjects. This will remove missing objects from the map so other players won't notice them if they happen to have that old mod installed.

Using the Old UI πŸ’» πŸ”¨

(not recommending this in any way, I have a vendetta against IMGUI)

  1. Right-click Unturned in your Steam library.
  2. Click 'Properties...'
  3. Click 'Select Launch Options...'
  4. Add '-Glazier=IMGUI' without quotes.

Certain Modules and Plugins Will Not Load DotNet

Newer libraries using .NET Standard 2.1 require netstandard.dll to function properly. If you are using a module, put the file in the folder with the rest of the .dlls. If you are using a plugin, put it in the Rocket 'Libraries' folder.
