#FCS mod installation problem...:broken_heart:

Hi,

I’m looking for help specifically with installing FCS (Field Creators Studios) mods for Subnautica on Linux. I’m using the Epic Games version through Heroic Games Launcher.

To be clear up front: general modding is already working. Subnautica runs fine, and BepInEx loads correctly. What I’m missing is a proper understanding of where FCS mods are supposed to go and how their folder structure should look. Right now, I just want to make sure I’m placing the right files in the right directories (so it works lol)

I’m not looking for help with:

Getting Subnautica to run

Setting up Proton/Wine

Installing BepInEx itself

I only need guidance on:

Correct placement of FCS Alterra Hub

Correct placement of individual FCS mods

What a working FCS folder structure should look like

Any differences to be aware of when using the Epic Games version

System details, in case they help 🙂

OS: Fedora Linux 43
Launcher: Epic Games via Heroic Games Launcher
Wine/Proton: GE-Proton-latest

Game install path:
/home/Arniee/Games/Heroic/Subnautica

Wine prefix:
/home/Arniee/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Subnautica

Game status:

Subnautica (Epic Games version)

Runs perfectly vanilla through Heroic/Proton

BepInEx loads when running without mods + other mods work

If anyone has successfully installed FCS mods on Linux (especially with Epic + Heroic), I’d really appreciate a short step-by-step explanation or even just a folder tree example showing how the mods should be laid out.

Thanks in advance 🙂

The FCS mod suite is for an older version of the game

It is being updated to a newer version soon, it's not out yet but just keep your hopes up.
