Hi there OSRS Scapers,

I want to express myself about an incident that happened, I'm posting this here hoping to get some actual human eyes on a situation that has completely killed our motivation to play this game.

About 8 months ago, my fiancée's OSRS account was permanently banned. The reason given was related to a gold swap she did from her RS3 account over to OSRS. What makes this so confusing is that the ban didn't hit until a full month after the swap had taken place.

To our knowledge, swapping between the two main games has always been a gray area but generally safe as long as you aren't doing anything malicious. We assume the person she swapped with got flagged for something else, and she was caught in the crossfire.

We went through the proper channels and submitted appeals. They were "reviewed" and rejected by Mod Jane P. When we tried the second appeal chance, we received the exact same copy-and-paste response. It feels like nobody actually looked at the trade logs or the IP history to see that she is just a regular player, not a gold farmer.

For those of us playing long-distance to stay connected, or just logging in with a few local friends to raid, having an account nuked permanently without a proper human review is devastating. I have lost all faith in playing or supporting the game further if this is how customer support handles legitimate disputes. Placing a bait note on the account and ignoring the context of the swap is just not right.

If any J-Mod could actually take a second look at the trade logs for [Jagex #6511831], we would just appreciate a real human explanation.

Hi there, swapping has always been done at your own risk as the swapper may have gotten the funds through RWT, which means that you can get caught in the crossfire. Jagex has been clear in this regard.

This section is player run and there are no Jmods ready to review bans here. The only official way is to make your case through the appeal system where another Jmod will review it in good time. My suggestion to you is that if the ban is unsuccessful to avoid swapping as there is no way on the outside to confirm that the swapper has not RWTed. Since it is a temporary ban it is likely that it is not as a serious to warrant a permanent ban and it should just be taken as a warning. I'm sorry that we don't have better news and I wish you all the best.

PS: Bans are not handed out immediately, historically Jagex has given them at random times in the future from the date of the offence particularly for bots as Jagex does not want them to be able to detect what triggers a ban and future ones. I understand that you may have more wealth on one version that you wish to transfer but unfortunately it looks like the issue may not be you, but on the swapper's source of wealth that was probably RWTed. This is probably why it's only a temp ban.
