Since we already have so many different kinds of dragons, it would be pretty interesting to see dragons with more heads, We already have monsters with multiple heads like the Hydra, Colossal Hydra, Alchemical Hydra, Cerberus, and of course KBD himself, but we can do better!
For example, a twin headed dragon might have 1.5x the combat level of a regular dragon of the same type, count as 2 on slayer tasks, drop 2x bones/bars/hides, roll twice for a visage, and/or use double hit-splat attacks.
I was also thinking it would be interesting to create a new combination dragon that contains multiple different dragon types together. Conceptually I think of this as being called a Chimeras. Specifically I was thinking of three variants:
- Twinflame Chimera (2 heads - Frost, Lava)
- Chromatic Chimera (4 heads - Green, Red, Blue, Black)
- Metallic Chimera (6 heads - Bronze, Iron, Steel, Mithril, Adamant, Runite)
The Chimeras would be considerably more dangerous than regular dragons. They would be bosses with more heads being harder. While you would be attacking the body, the different dragon heads could all be attacking in rapid succession for a fast attack speed and potentially multiple attack styles (think Cerberus souls).
Upon reaching a certain HP threshold, it would trigger a special attack phase:
- 33%, 66% for Twinflame
- 25%, 50%, and 75% for Chromatic + Metallic
Special Attacks would include:
- A rotating fire breath attack similar like the windmill pattern on the Elidinis' Warden fight.
- Lobbing giant fireball projectiles like Vorkath or Kephi. These would target random tiles on the floor with an area (3x3) affect instead of targeting the player's tile
Since the Metallic Chimera is the hardest, it will actually be performing BOTH special attacks at the same time each phase. The weaker Chimeras would alternate between the two special attacks for each phase. The weaker chimeras would also have a lesser number of larger sectors in its rotating fire breath attack.
