You get the armor before you fight Surok. You don't need to fight the Balance Elemental and Tormented Demons to get the armor.
You get the whole set for free as well iirc? with the option to farm more from the elite black knights. I might be misremembering and you need to farm 1 set and get another free from the wardrobe though.

The Slug Prince has invisible prayers, you MUST fight with melee or the attacks don't go through. He also drains prayer with his attacks.
Elite Black knights can be fought one on one as long as you dont aggro others. They only attack with melee so praying that makes the fight trivial too. If you wanted to, I guess you could also use this to your advantage to farm gear faster by grouping em up and bursting/venator bow them.

both are trivial to get and defense is irrelevant in the first place since you would only ever use prayer armor if you are... praying. Its fashionscape at the end of the day, there are a million armor sets in this game that have few to no uses and its impossible to make them all balanced. Elite Black is exceptionally useful compared to many other sets

If you gave elite black offensive bonuses it would just make prayer progression awkward as sunfire fanatic armour has no such combat stats.
The offensive stats would also make it better than bandos and blood moon tassets in several situations where the +2 str does not give a max hit.

Dream Mentor is a trivial quest too. In the end quest "rewards" (if you can even call it that, its more of an unlock) never have correlated with effort/difficulty very well

I dont even think many people know that elite black armor is a real armor with prayer bonus. Dont think its a big issue people do that quest for massively diffrent rewards that are cracked
i used this armor once in wildy and then never got it again cuz it was to annoying to reget. having extra defense or not itd have to be buyable imo and cheaper then prossy idk mb ironman brained

If you keep AI generating responses I'm closing this thread. The purpose of this channel isn't for throwaway AI suggestions with users debating with AI through you. If you have anything to contribute then you are more than encouraged to do so.
Prayer usage is the same mechanic. Having to swap weapons is still just prayers, both are there to limit your options. Slug Prince and EKB both attack only with melee with stats both in the negligible range. EBK hits harder but you pray melee and take 0 damage.
Youu just agreed that you don't have to complete a GM quest and now you're saying you do. EBK armor is not the reward for the quest, burning claws and synapses are. EBK armor is basically a cosmetic sidegrade.
See that's a real response. All I've done is respond to your messages and tell you to stop using AI multiple times. How is this power tripping?
They'd use it when they feel like it, that's the point of fashion. As others have stated multiple times the reduced stats don't matter. It's prayer gear, you're blocking all damage with prayer so your defence stat means nothing.

Heck people actively use fighter torso over bandos despite objectively "worse" stats with it being lower defence as well.
They're using it over cost with the benefit (str bonus) being the same. The same situation applies here with the benefit (prayer) being the same with proselyte.
@topaz shore I run messages through AI checkers and one picked up his messages as 100% AI generated so I wouldn't say so. I don't rely on just the one result though so I didn't close/penalise him immediately.

but ye I agree I just feel like ud have to buff this item far more then u want for it to change anything. at best ur just suggesting another prosylte with gm reqs it just becomes a cosmetic. why even go through the trouble of changing it? id imagine itd be more expensive then prossy armor to cuz its harder to get and for irons they wouldint have a choice

If those were your personal thoughts then you were wrong on so many things I'd say you should complete the quests first then come back. That's why I'm saying don't use AI because it hasn't played the game and doesn't know how the game works. That's why I had to correct so much in my responses. That's why I'm telling you to use real responses because what you know is much much more than AI in regards to the game. Yes, people do type "Give me reasons why X should be implemented into OSRS" and then copy paste the output. It's fine if you want to stick with it but suggestions would still need to pass a poll and if others don't agree then it's unlikely it will pass the poll and be implemented into the game. You're trying to convince the devs and the players here that your suggestion is a good idea.
I don't think I said "Trivial" anywhere so I don't know why you're saying it with quotation marks. It's a good set because it has the same bonuses as Proselyte. It does make it okay because they add flavor to the game and players always find unique and interesting ways to play the game that make those "pointless" pieces of armor extremely important. Swampletics is a great example, Ironman is also a great example.
You teleport out, bank, and come back. Same thing you do when you're wearing proselyte. I think anyone in that moment would want another prayer pot over a little more defense.

I called the requisites to both proselyte and black armor trivial which i think is fair, dream mentor really isnt a difficult quest. I just think you are looking at this set in a wrong way, it is NOT a reward for a gm quest since you dont need to complete a gm quest to get it. Its a cute fashionable set that even has a use which you cant say about most fashionscape items. Plenty of high level quests give access to new areas, bosses and rewards, many of which have bad drops, niche drops or no use at all. Its not the design philosophy of this game that everything gets stronger and stronger the later you are in the game, even the highest level bosses often give low level skilling and combat supplies.
Would it matter if they buffed the defense? No. But the point is that they would need to spend time polling and implementing it (if it even passed) and id rather have them spend that time on literally anything else
