I was trying to setup Runelite today which involves loggint into your Jagex acc.
The issue is I think my jagex account is different from the account on steam so I can't link them. I visited https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/6532029137297-Upgrade-a-third-party-login-to-a-Jagex-account but upon clicking the first link and selecting my character, I get hit with:

How can I get the character that i've been playing on steam over to my Jagex account so I can use runelite

Hey, I see you are having some trouble. I want to double check that you already created a Jagex account. Is this your first Jagex account that you have created, is it possible that you may not be linking it to a Jagex account?

ive never had the launcher before. i only use steam and i was trying to get runelite today

Yes, you need to use the launcher then you can launch runelite or vanilla.

Yup, you can selelct runelite through the launcher and it should work.

sweet got it. did i even need to install runelite like as its own program initially like could i have done the whole thing from jagex launcher

As long as you have runelite it will work hand and hand.

yes just one more quick question sorry. is there as way to make it so all i have to do is open runelite or do i need to use the lagex launcher to open the game each time
