Its just an afk combat method, they didnt need to add anything else to it, the gems are a nice little bonus, but its really just stirring up more drama with it.
The boss doesnt need to have a scoreboard for who can min-max their spec swapping alts the hardest/who can get the biggest group to lag out the world/etc.
Just leave it as it is, a very simple, whack the boss and get exp. No need to find a convenient sand crab spot, no need to get into a fighting match "I was here first I just reset aggro", just sit there, and move to the new loc when it digs

it aint stirring up drama its not like people are gona be "reeee you need higher dps on the crab" unless they are being ironic (would be kinda funny and make crab talk more entertaining tbh lol)
i think it would be cool because it would be the first instance of which i can think of that a world record isnt really "controlled", sure you could get a clan of 2000 max accounts to all whack the crab at the same time but that isnt going to happen
