Dear jagex mods. I have been playing this game for 20years, osrs is the one game i’ve stuck to in my life. I have enjoyed it lots! And would hate to see this come to an end. I am a maxed player with the infernal cape.

I would really hate to see a new skill come into the game, hate is a strong word but yes i would hate to see a new skill come to osrs. Osrs was created because a lot of people didn’t like the eoc update, and the new skills that came with it. I honestly will leave the game if/when sailing comes out and i know a lot of other maxed players agree with this.

To make a long story short as a osrs veteran please DO NOT bring out the sailing skill or any skill for that matter. I know for sure the game can be way better with time spend on other content.

Thank you for your time.

Why exactly do you think that sailing would be the end of OSRS

#

You do know that the game regularly received new skills before (and after) the 2007 cutoff, right?

new skills didn't come with the Evolution of Combat btw

Is this a rage bait post? Seems like a stupid post.

Yeah. There's stuff like summoning that was controversial, but that wasn't related to EoC at all

osrs was created because people preferred how the game used to be - and in the early stages of OSRS, there was a desire to leave the game unchanged entirely, which then led to the game dying because nostalgia wasnt enough to keep people interested

#

and how the game "used to be" was new skills quite regularly

#

slayer was 9 months after runecrafting (and RS2), farming was 5 months after slayer, construction was 10 months after farming, hunter was 5 months after construction

Which is all honestly insane to think now

so not only are new skills quite an old school thing, you also have to consider there's only so many minigames and skilling bosses and whatever that they can add to the existing skills

#

there is a limit to how much interesting content they can actually add to the existing skills

#

that's why all the new skills they proposed were utility skills that would tie in to most of the existing skills

#

adding a new tree you can chop isn't really interesting, but adding a new tree (and other new resources) you have to train your sailing and explore the world to find, with the new resources then tying back into sailing by using them to upgrade your boat (on top of having other uses for other skills) is a bit more interesting

#

in general opening up an entire vast and significant part of the map that never could be explored before, opens up a lot of options

#

also i'm maxed and voted for sailing btw
