After upgrarding archlight into emberlight ancient shards have kinda become just... something to gather dust in bank (unless you separate archlight and synapse), i think it would be possible to have NPC in kourend that would trade x amount of them for totems or totem pieces after.

Jagex needs to make this happen already. There's probably a dozen suggestion posts asking for a totem trade-in for shards by now.

I also feel like if you remove synapse from emberlight, you shouldn't lose all of your charges. Scorching bow and the staff are a lot more friendly that way.

I saw someone mention being able to grind them up for a dust to put on cannonballs like granite dust from Grotesque Guardians. But a stronger version considering they are so rare comparitively
