#*actually* deadzone deadzones

osrs is the only mobile game to do it this way, it’s lazy implementation of deadzones.

deadzones on the sides of the device are supposed to be non-input. currently the side edges of the screen cannot be used to tap/click on mobile but for some reason they still accept input (like to zoom in/out). this is awful.

this is why so many people have experiences with dead clicks (taps do nothing if you’re already touching a “deadzone” somewhere else) as well as needing to double/triple-finger tap their screens to get inputs to work again. it’s all due to the mobile app accepting arbitrary taps/drags/long-presses from their so-called “deadzones”

please make the deadzones (where you can’t tap anyway) actually deadzones so we don’t have to deal with accidentally zooming when we don’t mean to. I know “thumb-only” mobile scapers aren’t the norm but this is literally one of the reasons why people end up depending on styluses or index-finger-tapping. it’s all because the deadzones on mobile are not implemented correctly at all.

again: deadzones on mobile should not accept any initializing input whatsoever, including the initial “on-down” tap/drag to zoom.

I personally just wish there weren’t any dead zones at all.

Pretty sure there's a deadzone adjuster somewhere in settings
I've never used it

there used to be and they removed it, either way the current implementation of it is not good

tap and hold one finger on either “deadzone” (left/right of ui stones, edge of screen) then suddenly nothing in the game works. why even have deadzones if they’re like this?
