Make scroll boxes a reward from slayer costing 1000 slayer points. Unlocking the ability to obtain 10 clue boxes of each kind from slayer sources. The clue boxes does not interact with clue scrolls so that you can save up your scroll boxes from slayer in your bank. You can still only have 1 clue scroll of each kind in your bank.

Additionally increase clue drop rates from slayer sources by by your slayer level. For example:
80 slayer 10% increased drop rate of any clue
90 slayer 20% increased drop rate of any clue
99 slayer 30% increased drop rate of any clue

This makes slayer a more fun and grindable content past 99 and allows players to chill around, explore the game and collect up a couple of clues this way if they prefer it.

Make the combat achievement tier unlock clue boxes from any sources. This would allow players to send multiple raids and collect a couple of clues to do before they tune off for example. 🙂
Easy: 1
Medium: 2
Hard: 3
Elite: 5
Master: 8
Grandmaster: 10

Make the upcoming collection log changes unlock clue boxes from any sources.
100 clogs = 1 clue box
200 clogs = 2 clue boxes
300 clogs = 3 clue boxes
400clogs = 4 clue boxes
500 clogs = 5 clue boxes
600 clogs = 6 clue boxes
700 clogs = 7 clue boxes
800 clogs = 8 clue boxes
And so on...

Personally I'm still more fond of gating it behind either:

  • Achievement Diaries (assuming it's both PvM and skilling. Personally I think it is. Though some players think it's about skilling, or that it's too easy?)
  • Treasure Trail Statistics (since doing the activity gives you the benefit for improving the activity)
  1. I'm not fond of gating it behind Slayer, since I dislike paper-thin connections between PvM and skilling. Also, I think 80+ Slayer is quite a high and harsh level to gate this at, especially with how controversial the skill is.

  2. As above, I dislike paper-thing connections between PvM and skilling. Though I'll admit that it is a nice continuation from CAs already giving the Clue Scroll boosts across the board (though maybe it shouldn't do that).

  3. I personally dislike the idea of the Collection Log providing functional rewards, as then it provides compulsion to try and do it. At best, I'd want it to be "clogs from only Clue Scrolls" - but at that point, it's a little similar to Treasure Trail Statistics (i.e. doing the activity gives you the benefit that improves the activity).

I do worry whether there's any actual solution that would be acceptable by a diverse range of players.

I do know some of the devs do not want stackable clues, but I would like to hear their responses to some of the ideas that have been suggested recently.

When I think about how Treasure Trails is a D&D, I think about how Shooting Stars is a D&D, but can be "trained as an activity" since the POH Telescope exists. So I wonder whether there could be a similarly-acting idea for Treasure Trails.

My favourite is that it's up to collection logs, but i also like the achievement diary idea. I'd be happy to stand behind any 4 of those.

I'm afraid i don't support the treasure trail statistics giving it as a reward as it can be easily abused by bots so my suggestion is heavily cruel to them. 😛
