Currently spices only use is a quest and curry, and furs only use is a quest. Besides selling, obviously, and they are decent money if you aren't going a hyper efficient ironman path. However I think it would be nice to give these long standing items in the game some purpose beyond what they have right now, I can't imagine the developers added them to the game with no intend of extending on to them one day, and no intend of them just being something to sell. Spices in particular feels like it should have various uses for cooking and the furs could be used for simple gear made with crafting especially as another way to make "warm gear" for wintertodt.
#Can we have more minor uses for spices and furs for early game players?

The real hunter furs are gonna be made craftable with Varlamore, and do count as warm gear already
Anything you'd suggest to make out of these furs?
I had this idea to use them for a while but it is a bit of a stretch:

I think maybe adding more content in the game that needs warm clothing and letting players make fur lined armor sets, fur-lined rune, etc is one thing, you could also use them to make boots better than leather boots and leather gloves early game
thats two things that come off the top of the head
also capes
they seem to be perfect as conduits for really early game and mid game upgrades/utility items
I think the issue here is that you’re describing really niche low-level stuff that doesn’t currently have a need to be in the game. What, if any, new capability are you adding? Isn’t the gear going to become obsolete in a couple hours or even minutes or completely skipped over by just doing a couple quests?
If you think about the point they were added to the game, I don’t really think there was any intent at all to expand their capabilities or have any purpose beyond selling, frankly, and I don’t think there needs to be now either
