I would like to add that although there is a risk of being scammed in any trade. The official forums weren't any riskier or safer as long as trades were done in game. Since this is an official Jagex / OSRS discord meant to replace the forums, it should ideally be seen to serve the same purpose as a safe point for the community as the alternatives are much riskier. We already communicate with other players via Discord and are on our own with safety in that regard. Without an official marketplace to support in game trades, the alternatives are 3rd party servers which are much risker and expose us to rwt, manip, and gambling, which a lot of these servers often are involved with. It would be nice to be able to sell a 3rd age pickaxe or piece of druidic without having to go to those servers.

one way to allow it to be safe is to have it like the old forums, create all posts (like in this suggestion channel) have guidelines where its only "what your are selling" and your "in game name" as contact, with a reminder to only deal in game to stay safe
regardless, it is much safer to buy/sell on here than to be forced to use external discord servers to buy/trade these items
or increase ge limit like in rs3, that would also resolve that 🥰, you could also have the offer use platinum tokens rounded to the neared 1000gp for high value trades above 2147m and just give a warning message before proceeding, ensuring that players know it will round out the trade and require platinum tokens in your inventory to buy the item. alternatively, allow any trade to go beyond the limit and just round to the nearest 1000 after 2147 and gives max cash + platinum. it is not common for high value trades to require more accuracy than to the 1000gp and there are plenty ways to work the coding around the limit and allow these trades to pass smoothly, it is also 2024 and the game is getting better, so limitations from years past are likely to be worked out now
anyways those are some possible solutions / suggestions to a long standing GE issue that could be improved ♥️

a traded section goes against rule #1 which includes not buying or selling in-game items. there is a separate discord dedicated to bulk trading already, or just use the GE.
