defense floors are thereto make sure scythe and blowpipe is not bis everywhere
and oathplate basically negated that lol
Not saying it should be everywhere. I just think content that provides bis should have megas be bis , even if by a small margin
Bonk
Like cerb
Nah, it should always be a top 3 option but not always bis. I like sra being bis at vard but scythe still slaps there
That's cuz 2x2 right
the thing that really bothers me about osrs versus rs2 is that they took all the player power that you could obtain if you worked for it like 95 prayer, 94 herb, 99 summ, 80 dg
I know what they’re there for. Having limited players is also another route to take
then they gave it all back in the form of a single megarare
Eg. If def floor was removed from Yama, ember would still be bis solo
it's even more powercreep than there ever was in rs2 but concentrated in one item you have to have for that style
not only that but the megarares also warp the entire reward space because they scale multiplicatively compared to everything else
That would be true except outside of shadow the megas aren't bis everywhere
Yeah I think the enhanced scaling is a bit over done on the megas
it's mostly a shadow problem but jagex clearly wants to shill megas as hard as possible hence the oathplate discussion
Zcb and BP are still massive, as is fang, emberlight etc...
oath basically just removes the last piece of melee slash content where you would use SRA
Oath isn't gonna be so crazy when we get a new max hit without it
And scythe is so ass in stab content I think it's fine, inq needs a look over though
Or we need a new 1x1 slash boss to make all the hlc needs 😭
That's not a design space issue that a loot scaling issue, blame 400+ toa for that
Scythe needs to have its crush bonus removed
which is like a 500+ strat
I gaurantee you people will mald about having to grind nm to get mace if you do this
nah they can just use bludgeon or zombie axe or even SRA (unless they remove that crush option)
SRA has worse crush than zombie axe (literally how?)
Slash weps should not have crush options
I wish it was better on crush
if scythe doens't have crush, i dont think sra should have it either
neither does dharoks
should
DHL having crush is also dumb
but yeah, go for it
uhhh
nah I like that axes have crush
this one makes sense
its no different than battlestaff having crush
ur taking a lance and smashing downward
That isn't how lances work bro
spears have always had all styles
Spear is just a quarterstaff with a pointy end
So like thematically it makes sense
But meh
You know what we actually need is a light ranged weapon that isn't fast, like a slow dart thingy
That way we can make a boss with high Def for light ranged
They should just give 2 more str to inq helm and remove the negative slash/stab
if the fear is scythe, just remove crush on scythe
jagex is never going to nerf scythe like that
This way it has the same str, less def, but also has a set effect in contrast with oath
Scythe shouldn't even be as dominant as it is but jagex just keeps catering everything towards it
The balancing lever of size is kinda hard to actually balance around
it's like if they didn't nerf magic levels on a bunch of bosses back in tbong meta
Well the did ignore it for years lol
Compared to bow and shadow
That said, easy balancing around scythe is just slapping on 500 slash def or making target smol
shadow remains the biggest slap in the face at the end of the day
just breaks all the rules
Interested to hear their potential rebalance approaches
Shadow is a consequence of mage gear being weird as f
It scales of off.....already using bis gear huh
Mage is % based
I wish devs weren't so allergic to things that worked in rs2
At this point why can't normal spells be scaled by % by mage level, I feel like that fixes so many issues
it would have fixed the entire project rebalance thing without the need for... all of this
If you over the level to use a spell, it gets slightly stronger but not stronger than the next tier would be
it's weird because polypore was one of the most broken parts about pre eoc mage
so take none of the good things
and then go all in on the problematic double-dipping powered staves
I really do think they're scared of pvp or smth
At least PvP removes them thank heavens
they are scared of the 50 damage ice barrages for sure
And also of making like accuracy focused mage armor
Like magic armor needs to scale like 2/3 of shadow I feel for everything
And augury needs to not be shit
Instead you make shadow to make ancestral feel like something
The % values on gear are pathetic
we'll see where things end up after confliction gauntlets
it does in theory increase acc around the board by like 10% of current acc
like what, 70>77% acc on whisperer with trident
The problem for mage is actually the mid game, after swamp trident there's nothing for so long that is a real upgrade
Because sang is barely a DPS increase
I think it's largely cuz gear doesn't do shit
For most progression gear is the incremental DPS increase between weapons
Well besides BP being a silly weapon
And there are no weapon upgrades, no nox Hally, or bowfa, or bludgeon etc...
It's better now with dragon wand but still
Powered staves can only have so much difference between them
twinflame ceiling is a bit too low but it's a step in the right direction
They're also kinda scared to put too much power on the weapon itself
Which is why they have scaling monstrosities for megas
That isn't true though, there loads you could do with effects and styles and stuff but they simply haven't. For heavens sake just make mage defence styles if we have to
Instead of just higher baseline
Yeah they could totally do more with powered staves but they don't
they said they don't want to do elemental power staves
At least mage doesn't mess up PvP as much as stuff like fang does
I think they should make a tier of magic spell that requires 105 magic or something
we're cooking
Ehhh more scrolls
if it's guaranteed like double death charge sure
I like how sang is basically a trident that heals and has 1 max hit. it also has a extremely high cost.
I'd rather make wrath in higher demand and forgotten brews used for repot after brew
i pick the healing over the dps in content like phosani or when learning CM's
Heart kinda also killed mage pots
this is a good idea
Scrolls are nice for untradeable unlock vs them absolutely tanking in price as cox drops
one day they'll fix cox
Agreed
I kinda like that soul runes shot up
Man when I see so many people dump on toa I remind them cox exists
I feel like you could do that with real wrath rune demand
toa is too generous, cox is just misery
Make a baliista like fire cannon for mage that has a dragon head and takes wrath runes
Idk, spellbook spells are locked behind not scaling with magic lvl so that's why I want that top tier mage spell
That you'd be able to forgotten brew to use or smth
And maybe that would prompt them to make a divine forgotten brew equivalent
That would feel so bad though for long content
Imagine running out of pot and having no runes to cast anything else on 5% final phase raid boss
There's salts and overloads in raids
But they do run out sometimes
I think you'd make it same runes as the current top spells
And let them smart downgrade
Plus it would screw your autocast
So it's not a usability nightmare

Yeah make that spell use the current surge spell if you don't have the higher req
And make it just like higher quantity of same runes
Also I don't think any weapon/spell should have a req above 95 tbh
I like the idea of "capstone" spells lol
what does this mean
I mostly think it would be a way to get magic lvl scaling
not me using exsanguinate being used to old spells basically costing no runes and then suddenly being out of fire runes
To spellbook spells
Barrage at 94 is already a massive brick wall for accounts learning tob
exsang my beloved
it was great until i figured out it uses the runes every tick of gconc
that was less fun
It's just an idea I've tossed around here and there
only issue i have with cox is that scrolls are still very common in cm's after 3 kits and the dust yo will never do cm's again, well outside of the insanity that is the 2k cape lol
I already don't like scythe having a 90 strength req
like super strong spells that you can build a playstyle around
I'm ok with max gear being high reqs
I like high reqs but that's probably just a rs2/rs3 mentality
seems like people here hate having pvm upgrades tied to skilling reqs
That's because skilling is actually slow in osrs
Rn they're quest locked mostly
I don't think it's that slow
Which is like 80 reqs max?
<@&385422009930219520>
90 in something like agility or fishing is a massive slog if you dislike doing it
I already think 85 mining for het 1 down was too much
reddit hated it when I said sepulchre was chill
I did 92-99 agi in a week watching dmm allstars lol
Sure but that week was probably 40+ hours
If you play 5 hours a week that would be months
I did agility in a mini window while chatting on discord
Then I did 10k seers laps post 99 for squirrel
Sepulchre is high enough difficulty that not everyone will do it
once you're in cycle, first three floors of sepulchre basically don't require any attention, it's like a couple clicks per floor
it's difficult at first but so worth once you've learned it
I agree on not pushing the reqs of auxiliary skills too high
But I think magic lvls for mage spells is just natural
Even if it's a lvl 97 unlock or whatever
More like 4k people, 26k accounts 🤣
I wasn't gonna say it but yeah
Imo no real upgrade should be over 90 in a skill, I already think the slayer bosses are too high
boo :P
ya you should be spawned into
lumby with base 80s and max gear imo
playing the game is for dorks
I think new goals to reach and things to unlock is a good thing personally
Let the 90s have real goals besides hitting 99
85 slayer for araxxor is reasonable, that's still like 100 hours
ya that's why rs2 was goated
people just want to hit sand casino here
all the power being concentrated into items spawns credit card warriors
need to have your account progression matter
i think there's good value in having items / content locked behind high skills
(cc warriors is good for people as long as gold farmers are kept in check)
some items and upgrades, not all of them for sure
if you don't care to skill you can just use whatever the best you can use is
I think quests unlocking content and forcing you into different parts of the game is one of the best things about this games progression
But that's the thing, it's not 2008 anymore, not everyone wants to skill, they play because they wanna do pvm
Quests are reasonable reqs, 90s are not
Though arguably quest cape is getting harder and harder.
Dt2 was too pushed
Which matters for lumb elite
but people understand that logic for not giving blighted brews
In pvm skill, length, and skill reqs
you can't just have an ecosystem where pvpers are given accounts to only pvp
and don't have to interact with the rest of the game/economy
But also making someone do chompys for hours when all they wanna do is hit Gmaul stacks feels stupid
I say we bring back livid farm muahahahaha
True! Should’ve nerfed yamas rates more @small anvil
suffering builds character
Like it or not, most players are not allrounders
They like one thing more than others
I like knowing that there is an end to certain grinds
It's like barely acceptable now but still kinda generous I feel. And that's my opinion despite me having gotten unlucky money wise from yama
where if I work towards a certain goal I will achieve the reward
Still too generous tbh
I have no idea how dry I am going to go for my megarare grind
But saying that, I wouldn’t mind them lowering the nex grind as well
Nah nex was too insufferable, yama is fix we needed
Increase ttc for yama, lower ttc for nex
Untradeable shards
Kc entry reqs only punish learners and the weird loot scaling makes the content less approachable
maybe some gatekeeping was what yama needed
time between uniques at yama is actually on the slow side after the nerf
Yama is fine now I think, maybe could use like another 10-15% drop rate nerf but it's like... Acceptable
Shards untradeable would have been better for the health of the market
Hi
Just like sra axe pieces
Hello
I get the sentiment but then you're just stuck there until you can cash out
I think dry protection (kinda intended for irons) not affecting the market until a critical mass is a good thing
at the end of the day Yama's just not hard/gatekept enough to have super high prices
Do i just post the feedback here?
its almost like they shouldn't have made them giga common because bitches were bitching
especially given how strong rigour is
Nex with an untradeable shard system for dry protection would be perfect imo
on release they were the equivalent of masori vs fang in terms of rarity
lowkey feel like zcb has been slept on because of how melee heavy everything has been
Ruby bolts are kinda silly
My biggest problem with their balancing is I feel like 99% of it is just regurgitating numbers from dps spreadsheets and that barely tells the whole story
"oh yeah burning claws are just an intermediary step to bridge spec weapons til dclaws"
They were told repeatedly prior to release how oath would end up with TOO meta and continuously said “we feel it sits in a good spot” only to, on release, be like “yeah maybe we should distribute the bonuses or (ideally not) entertain a set effect”
They're very defensive
And kinda obsessed with making sure things pass the polls
Instead of actually critically looking at the balance
most things are gonna pass these days regardless
unless there's some huge fuss on reddit
Doesn't stop them from trying to stack the deck as much as possible
Or just sneaking things through
Like contracts
I know, I'm just saying
Yeah I agree
the internal balancing needs to be a lot more thorough because you can't rely on the community to balance things for you after the fact
because once things hit live
people grumble when you change things
They also announce and advertise release dates
Then can't stop cuz that's set in stone
and nobody even agreed on what oathplate should look like
It’s why I hope they continue to bring in staff like Nox who has more exposure to content in a way that understands there’s a lot more than on paper dps values that go into balancing
Understandably though, you can just expect all devs to be high level players or high level players to make good devs and also want to employ at Jagex
And they never revisited 😭😭
I think you can balance things well without being super good at the game, and I'm not going to knock the devs for every little unintended thing that happens
but at the same time we've had some really really egregious shit the last year or so on both ends
like huey and mixology on release day
for sure
The issue is more that they're like really resistant or ignorant of quality feedback
My biggest ask, outside of developing a better filter internally to prevent that or better assess pre-launch, would be that they more indiscriminately or address things quickly
And act defensive about glaring problems
It feels like they pick and choose which things are worth tackling asap vs leaving for a few years
Because getting the content out and not wasting the time already spent is a higher priority to them
Than releasing with the necessary level of polish
Eg. Horn not working as 4t skilling action
And
Taking years to adjust purple rates in toa
Then they say welp can't do anything they're already out
we will closely monitor elidinis ward to be sure we don’t run into another Pegasian issue
Contracts were really silly
the contract system was such a slow-motion train wreck lmao
actual slow-motion going from "we guarantee this'll be better than orbs!"
then the horror from day 1 realizing it's like 10x worse than orbs
after everyone told them please no
Not only will it be better than orbs, it wont be like invocations
Can only imagine the stress that was going on internally following that
Surely they knew before merging that it wasn’t going to go over well
Spray and pray that it doesn’t end up as bad as you think it will, only for it to be worse
I was hoping for invocations style but atm its something I do for radiant then never again
I'm so glad I didn't stock up on contracts as speculation
Cuz they were obviously not gonna be enough
But I had no idea if jagex were going to realize and fix their mistake
And it just kept getting later and later without changes
definitely a "glad to be iron" moment
I was seeing ge bets go crazy on the contracts lol
I feel like invocations would fit so well for medium length bosses like Yama and CG, where you could make a grind harder in exchange for a small droprate increase
Going back to normal Yama after finishing radiant felt like I was doing the boss in slowmo
Can we add “xBR” as a scaling option? You cannot play fullscreen on the current 3 scaling options.
Is it me, or did they add a bunch of random ass trees to Zanaris?
They didn't want people to get small drop rate increases so they gave gnomemonkey 100M/hr guaranteed loot instead
Technically farming Bloodied Blows would be a faster to grind oathplate than doing normal Yama for me, but I get skill issued too much
I don't mind oath contracts being that lucrative honestly
Like extreme skill should be rewarded
Oath contracts are like prime target to be botted though which is kinda worrisome
Cuz it's high risk and probably doable
Its highly limited in the amount it can be done
The number of oath contracts that come into the game a day is pretty small
Unlike the high level bosses that rs3 has
I think the issue is mostly that you can’t do it for profit at all unless money isn’t an object to you
Which isn’t really a healthy thing to encourage
The profitability is self limiting
Like there are very few things that actually have a high barrier for entry in this game but somehow they made contracts, especially farming them for profit, the worst of all of those
The people doing the contracts were either gods at the game or had crowdfunded contracts
I would rather have skill be rewarded in the form of higher kills/hr or slightly better rates
This whole system is just unnecessary and introduced too many pain points when the entire community said it would do exactly this
An example of a good modifier is something like totemic when bugged or Feeling Special
Make content harder, but can be rewarded for good play
Then you have orbs and contracts where even if the content is interesting
It’s just unnecessarily gatekept in a way that isn’t really desirable by anyone
Does pizza match the oath acquisition
And I agree that the accessibility is maybe an issue, but some people object to people making x amount per hour on absolute terms and I don't agree
Like it isn't inherently flawed just because it eclipses x profit per hour
And the profit is inherently competitive
People are bidding based on their risk tolerance and abilities
The divide between those who cant and those who cant is too much to be this rewarding
Its just a massive outlier
If any one or two more people could do it it would eat into the profits massively
There's very few oath contracts in the game
Would be interested to know how many more bodies/legs there are in the game than helms because that would probably be a decent representation of how many of the acquisition contracts get done lmao
It's mostly shards
Oh yeah forgot about that
So that wouldn't be the answer yeah
You can take global yama kc though
And see the upper bound at rate
For how many contacts existed period
the prices have largely equalized for all 3 pieces now
Yeah I saw but helm is still cheaper
interesting confluence of different factors with torva helm being so expensive people started pairing different torva pieces with oath helm for like a 0.02 DPS loss
and huge oversupply of chest/legs
Back in my day torva helm was cheaper
Definitely curious how many legs and bodies are in game vs helm
Bc any non-iron has zero reason to craft helm from shards
- obviously contracts went straight to body/legs too, tho much less impact than shards
I did my part and crafted 2 helms
all 3 pieces are around same price now due to contracts
contracts and shards trashed the legs/body into the floor lol
Yeah oath would probably be a lot more pricey if shards weren’t tradeable
100%
if acc contracts and shards didnt exist/tradeable then oathplate woulda been close to torva
in terms of price
And oath coulda been 300 shards as advertised, and maybe break down into 100 or 150 rather than 50. But such is the life we live
i mean a handful of ppl farming oathplates don't even make a dent in the price vs million billybobs farming it on nm
also oath is semi guaranteed because of the shards
Juuuup lol
Thats why jagex failed the boss big time. I saw ads everywhere before release “end game boss” coming to game, they made it sound so huge and big and in return we got a boss that can be farmed by 70 combat pures. They failed big time.
All these developers and they developed such a shitty system with contracts and shards its insane how bad at developing you must be to not listen to the community instead make fake polls and not state the facts to get it voted properly.
I dont think many people at 70 combat are doing yama
regardless of what people say yama is a end game boss
Any clues on when summer sweep up part 2 gets reveiled?
Part 1 was perfect, Good job jagex
Its not end game boss.
it is, it has mechanics similar to most end game bosses, it is a end game boss. its on par with phosani nightmare in terms of difficulty.
Challenge mode cox is end game content, a monster that takes 3 mins to kill is not end game content. Get your skills up as it seems you got skill issue.
its a end game boss. to discredit as so is like saying awakened vard that takes 2 mins to kill is not end game boss lol.
I'd mostly say it's not an endgame boss because it doesn't come at the end of gear progression
It's way too accessible to get 90% of the dps there for it to be endgame
Ya oathplate is a side path to going for torva
?
Not even
Torva is an endgame side tangent now
Oath is the primary and much earlier
torva is a waste of time, you go to nex for zcb now and thats it
What are you trying to argue
This kid @true talon thinks he got high kc so he killed “end game boss” many times, son relax you killed yama that takes 3 minutes, let me see you do solo cox cm for 40 mins for 1 kc and then compare ur end game skills
your trying to say oathplate is to accessible, becausse it gives dps on par with bandos? outside of when you have absolute max gear.
???
@true talon you’re a shitter
you think solo CM is difficult lol...
Much more than yama
Yama is harder than nex, you can kill nex with rcb and ruby bolts
I lost the plot
They are kind of going on a tangent debating what "endgame" is.
I think Etube's point about gear progression and how "it's way too accessible to get 90% of the dps" at Yama is what's really the problem (#game-update message).
The problem mostly being Oathplate is too good to be so accessible/efficiently farmable with lower end gear.
So like.. I thought there was supposed to be a dedicated channel in here for new renderer bugs? What's going on with that?
So in absolutel max you save 4 seconds on sol at the cost of over 300m/700m when you can use torso which is free.
this is an example in just absolute max
If we downgrade to a SRA
The issue isnt that oathplate is accessible, its that all melee gear is absolute ass
and slash is the dominate style
Melee gear isn’t ass
They just didn’t make most of it meaningfully different in terms of str bonus
And only recently began going more toward accuracy
Bandos is good
And moons is the same as bandos
As is torso
I think strength bonus is actually really overhyped sometimes, especially at the top end. Gaining a max hit when you already hit 48s is really not that big an increase
Gaining 3 max really does matter on scy tho
Depends on the next breakpoint
For scy specifically, maybe, but in general, no
to the above discussion tho, oath top/bottom is meta moreso and yama contracts is endgame
the boss itself is like mid-late
meta and faster to get than torva
I mean most yama kills are done with mage no?
The boss mechanics are kinda simple
idk what folks do but a lot mage
I would say it's not as hard as phosani
yeah
They did exactly what they wanted, a boss that felt hard at first but chill to grind
pnm is clearly end
Which was a comp made above
Waves being kinda static made it kinda simple for p3
Endgame is a very loose definition anyway, is it skill, is it gear, is it stats?
I think encounter difficulty is usually what I would say defines end game to me
More than the gear/rewards?
yeah
Cuz nex isn't that hard mechanically but you need kinda good gear
Like you don't need bis to farm. It's getting engagement moreso from folks in midgame
yeah nex isn't endgame either
but for an iron progression it is
Nex is just annoying
But everyone doing nex is in the endgame? You see the issue
I wouldn't say nex is an end game encounter, it's kinda kq tier almost
if they are, it's for a bingo or pet hunt
Where the difficulty comes from supply usage
yeah kq would be fair
It's abnormally rewarding
But a mid game player couldn't realistically do nex
In gp/hr
But they do
its clearly endgame because you spend an ungodly amount of time for a marginal upgrade
But that's why it was one of the best springboard to top end gear bosses
mid game is very vast
and most main mid game pvmers send nex
can just look up accounts in the kodai or nex ffa
barely any boss kc, doing nex as it's gp
Imo if you need 90s and 150m to realistically do the boss it's endgame regardless of mechanics
Because a mid game account couldn't do it
Ehhh
Where people set the bar of what's midgame varies
and those accounts do it
I mean if you got 750m bank and max stats Id say you aren't really in the mid game anymore
moreso the content you send
I'm a pvm noob
And in some cases how you send
Who's soloing yama
Then this whole thing makes no sense. So it's specifically the content you send? But brother I send tob
Endgame is more difficulty of the content in my eyes
So Tob is mid game content unless I'm SBS stalling?
And there's a difference between squeaking out KC and farming it
Can access it at a midgame yes. You should see the accounts asking for help at 1 kc
it has the lightest gear reqs
I dunno this sounds very arbitrary and gatekeepy
it's not tho
But dt2 is solidly in the midgame
how it's gatekept if it's accessible
It's just terminology
It's words used to define what we are talking about
We mean x when we say "endgame"
Clearly I don't think Jagex agrees with that definition to be honest
Except so far I haven't really seen any consistency, so as a list, what would you say is endgame content?
I think yama is entry to endgame content in difficulty at most
hmt/cms/500 toa
end game difficulty =/= end game loot necessarily
The thing with CMS though is that mechanically its like identical to a regular cox
right but it's scaled up and more punishing
you need a solid baseline to start
and it's timed (althought irrelevant)
Mistakes hurt more right
yes
Yeah but that's mostly just "have a tbow" and "don't mess up"
not at all
you can camp pray mage and olm and be fine
in regs
you will get 2 shot in a cm
that's night and day
I think it depends on the person's playstyle too, like I think that colo and vard are pretty simple but normal cox and phosani are beyond me
Colo and Cox being on the side they're on is interesting
not really gonna comment on that
but 300 toa is midgame and shits out a shadow
unfortunately
good to know i was solidly in the earlygame with my 150 colo kc, with my ego i thought i was midgame
And NGL I think regular Tob and a 350-400 toa are similar (or they were pre changes)
they are both just move and click prayers, no major mechanics to react to like yama or whisperer
its not, its fake labels created by people with varring opionons often bias on what is considered end game.
You can say end game of osrs is when you are 126 combat, there is a reason they use combat brackets when describing content.
Royal titans - for people who are 110 combat with like base 90s
Yama - for people who have max stats and decent gear
Being 126 is end game of runescape, the content you do after that is broken down by its rewards/skill floor (not its ceiling)
yeah, a quick way to test if someone’s saying anything objectively correct is to ask them whether scurrius or inferno is more earlygame. scurrius has a heal mechanic that hard requires like 50 stats to outdps.
a 3 hour infernal cape is no more impressive or end game than a 40 minute one when determining what is end game content
I lost the plot
there isnt one dw
I've always had this gripe at Tob. Tob isn't hard because I need to SBS stall or godbook, people often conflate difficulty and skill ceiling
I see royal titans being meant for people with base 90's in this chat
yes.... thats is correct, skill ceiling and floor when valuing content is completely different.
this was in jagex blog themself lol
90 cmb
It doesn't even make it more complex, it means it's abusable in a specific way
Complexity is what the boss can do not your ungodly red X method
Acting like scurius is later game than inferno is unhinged
Genuinely
The criteria is not lowest level x content can be done at
people asked for endgame bosses and we got yama which is actually hell to learn with no purging staff and no prior experience in better gear, i guess what we should have done is ask for new challenging bosses with low requirements like inferno and colo
who on earth is doing yama without purging
just kirby
I was doing it without purging and it was suffering
Ren handicaps themselves with gear a bunch
Apparently doable with sangui or 4t staff as long as you take a glyph though
I might get destroyed for this take but mid game starts at barrows gear
sounds like broke
You can duo without suffering by just orb skipping no
its not a fun time, if i had one synpase id pick mage camp over doing yama without purging lol
I just really didnt want to buy a synapse during the peak
freaking 40m? to like 90m
goddamn
tbf even if it was incredibly expensive it was almost definitely gonna profit you back if you kept grinding the boss
I bought a spenny synapse but got an FFA oath contract for 92m
it totally did but ouch, I eventually grabbed it after a few days at 60m or something
synpases are good investments, they are very powerful at many pieces of content
soon we about to get another demon end game boss with delves
which will probably utilize synpase weps in some way
Considering they specifically said the crush demonbane weapon they scrapped would be good there
It’s almost guaranteed to be a crush weak or neutral melee weak demon
inq is actually slept on right now, its on par with SRA at colo and beats bofa at muspah. mostly just those 2 places tho
id say its overpriced
not enough crush content
No wonder its "slept on"
its also made of paper and has less str bonus than bandos + faceguard
price will likely drop a bit after pnm changes
they should improve the helm str bonus to match oathplate
its annoying that u need full set for weps besides mace, werent they supposed to fix that
still need to give it some time
I thought the changes were already added? less phases n stuff
Or was there more changes I forgot about 🤔
no that's what I meant
I think it should be combinable with a new armor or even justicar or something to make crush tier oathplate
but I mean to give it more time to drop in price (unless no one really wants to run pnm lol)
It's fine as is lol
Mace can be added to a new 5 tick crush wep to make a crush mega rare
Soulreaper and scythe are the crush megarares
Scythe needs to lose its crush bonus for a crush wep to ever live
I think its fine not to make every piece of gear an upgradable thing. Id say its mostly nightmare being an absolute nightmare holding it back from popular usage
Its the only way to keep old content relevent and also add power creep.
Inq has almost the same offensive stats as oathplate which is what matters
I wouldnt say so, just making the item have relevant content makes it relevant. Fighter torso is still relevant after how many years? Barrows got a resurgeance with Perilous moons too.
Ok that is not appropriate
I wouldnt call an item "relevant" if its just to be able to delete it
Imbued/Saturated heart is a huge limiter on effectively doing pnm from an iron perspective too
there we go, always said I cant even talk about that mechanic without it catching there filter. finally happened
You made it weird
What were they even referring to
True, better mage potions would definitely help
The part where u need to cure disease
i was just quoting gnomonkey's latest video. they should really remove it tho imo lmao
I dont really understand why the mage potions have all the debuffs
twin flame is pretty good there
Because god forbid we make heart worth less
I’ve used it and it is not
Literally trolling lmao
Just gotta burn a combat dose
I own a shadow it just sucks to chug 3 potions to make forgotten brew useful there or use awful standard spellbook and lose thralls
I guess 2 yeah but still atrocious
And still worse than heart by a good margin
eye of ayak surely
And no divine
Still heart issue
we love the state of mage today
someone remind me to be mad if they actually release the gloves not working with blue moon staff cuz its "deliberately introducing a bug into the game"
?
i mean they should just make the spear 1 hand or make it bluemoon hasta lol
1*
obby staff too? devalues my obby staff only inferno
Also the delve boss thing has a huge door that it hides behind, so it would make sense that crush typing is ideal
Bc… nobody is gonna slash or poke a door down
Not true, but it would help
If PNM had like 15-20 more def, mace would be bis dps
Bc scythe has the crush accuracy of an addy mace. Though removing it’s crush style would also accomplish the same
also we don’t even need a crush mega rare lol. Where tf would you use it with current content? Gz you have a new PNM bis
Doesnt have to be super useful immediatly
Hi hi
For a mega rare, assuming it’d come from a raid bc they all do, you’d hope that it’s pretty useful on release outside of just the content it comes from
they should just unshaft the aegis it fills a gap at glyphic attenuation too
I think asking for a crush mega or stab mega is about as beneficial as asking for a light range or heavy range mega
Feels like it’d just be a waste of reward space for raid level content bc we don’t have enough distinction between the typings
Without another rebalance or a lot more new content
a light range mega would be cool, just give it the same stats as unnerfed blowpipe, itll be useful everywhere!
make it 6 range like drygore so u can use it at zuk
to be fair the bp is already as strong as a mega under certain circumstances 👀
it beats shadow at most things
Yeah so a light range mega thats even stronger than bp would be scary
dragon darts blowpipe with its highest max hit is actually the most universally strong item in the game and costs under 100m. deadeye is only 3% dps loss for it too cuz its 1 max hit
Yeah so a light range mega thats even stronger than bp would be waaay to strong
or weaker than bp in which case lmao rofl
it costs 2m an hour to use it but its worth it tbh. beats bofa and shadow even against things with relatively high def like jal zeks (260 def)
it even beats bofa at triple jads on task
and the boots are gonna be an extra mat hit without requiring any switches, probably will make the setup over 100m tho
🙁
its also nice that u can keep the max hit with no helm and just bring a glove switch if u have vambs, cuz gloves are biggest switch for other styles
if anyone raids with me theyre gonna see me blowpiping in ancestral hat
combine all the capes
Twsited scythe bow of tumenken
btw when can we repoll chivalry im making a zerker to go for 99 combat zuk helm on and 😭
lemme use chivalry, i cant get holy grail xp btw it already forces me to 43 for required quests
I’ve never liked the “continuous upkeep” cost/hr metric bc it’s just not relevant in most cases imo
Cost per action is such a better metric and you can vary your true cost by how many actions you do at different content
Eg. Bp true cost per hour at Zulrah is going to be different than bp true cost per hour at vorkath (if people even still bp vork?)
its not that big a difference tbh, at colo for example ur still gonna be using it over 2/3 the whole hour even if u have venator and melee sol
inferno too especially without tbow
even more so, potentially over 90% max use
Cost to use is pretty irrelevant. unless the cost is extremely difficult to up keep as an iron. anyone who can afford a mega rare can afford to use it lol.
ur gonna have to do over 4 hours of brutal black dragons for 1 hour of continuous shooting
Cost to use is irrelevant and overstated because only in nmz will you continuously use charges. Everywhere has up to 80% downtime
It’s why when people were bitching about scythe costs being too high, they were disingenuously spamming shit like 1.5m/hr and comparing to likes of tbow
But frankly, tbow being so cheap to use is and was a problem back in 2017-2019, and probably still is
rich get richer. u can never escape midgame if ur using dragon darts and black chins in inferno all day
It's the mentality that leads to being poor
^
it is bank value poor tho, if u have tbow then u can tbow magers and use less darts. means u can do inferno for longer without having to go do something else instead to resupply
Here’s a thought
ngl it seems like u actually have to minimise costs until you get your first mega if you ever want to have to one
Don’t fire expensive ammo at inferno, do something profitable instead, unless you can afford it
If you can’t afford it, switch ammo
u know u might be onto something, i never even calced how much dps loss amethyst darts are
could also just use msb
You shouldn’t have to calc it tbh
Just don’t throw all your stuff on the ground and do literally anything profitable
Yeah, he’s taking idiotic and extreme examples that aren’t likely to happen
irons and 2b bank havers whenever a new player wants to pvm:
I had over 16k ddarts and never even used them for inferno
Will keep stacking them in protest until scar ess for these things are made
Same with d arrows/darts. odd that javlin heads and dragon bolts rain from the sky but d darts and d arrows are protected
they should make delve boss drop over 1k darts per hour at max efficiency
or do something even more extreme instead of adding to boss loot tables
blowpipe needs a buff: cheaper dragon darts, even for mains
How was I supposed to know I shouldve picked up those shafts from demonics 😡
Also make quiver charged bonus work on everything ty
The way that projectiles fly through the air makes them look super funny
I always planned to use javelin heads for xp so I picked up every single one
Kinda crazy there’s not a better way to make javelin shafts in 2025 though
essence of finality when jagex
Surely quiver could work for all ranged gear and not be too broken
It’s pretty hard to obtain
Or expensive to buy the service for, if you’re a Super Weenie Hut Jr
And in doing so also hit Bowfa, Ven bow, Ballistae, Atlatl and all sorts of other ranged shit
Ven bow ammo even goes in the quiver lol
Yea it does, ven bow shoots arrows
webweaver is nerfed with it thoughg
quiver works with everything that fires projectiles from the quiver.
just dont work with throwing weps, bowfa, blowpipe
gatekeeping 1 str and 10 acc meanwhile new booties gives 3 str and can be bought (also splinters need more use anyway)
make it make sense
well d arrows is gate keeping more str than anguish lol
same str as anguish
ddarts are a whole 7 str above amethyst for some reason which is wild
and those str lvls matter in content like scorching bow/ven bow lose a lotmore max hits than say tbow
that in context, zero reason to gatekeep 1 str off of blowpipe (and 10 accuracy) from a bis difficult to get range cape
Not really, any weapon that scales like demonbane and tbow scales really hard because 1 str can mean like 3 maxhits
also bowfa, ballistas, etc
Like when I was still doing Hydra 1 piece of masori or venator ring was 3 maxhits with amethyst arrows
On my GIM I just got 90 ranged and that's 2 maxhits salted with deadeye
then 1 more and it gives 3 maxes
scythe has the same issue an emberlight
emberlight on str is 3 max hits over embelight on stab
almost as if any weapon with any multiplier scales better off gear
isnt a "problem" per say
I thought it did but doesnt use charges
Oh that might be it. It definitely doesn’t use quiver charges, I thought it also didn’t get boosted
it uses arrows in the quiver/ammo slot so it should get boosted
it gets boosted, nothing with charges uses charges tho
Why is this dudes name aloud ^? Isnt it against rules of server.
i dont think its against the rules to have your ign in your discord nickname?
Oh no, my rs name is my discord name I'm in trouble
Mine is only the name of my alt that's f2p rn, checkmate
That's forward thinking
Its attacking a mod
The ign part is irrelevant
It is?
Yes.......
Which mod
Mod North
Lol
Brother lol
he's the new CEO, replaced Mod Pips
It's the CEO

Read up on the new rules
That's not the personal attacks that matter lol
Lol?
Calling for a resignation isn't even an attack
It's doxxing for sure. 😏
huh
what a relevant game update discussion
This is just the sweep #2 waiting room
Game update disgussions are probably 50% of the disgussions taking place here rofl
update was over 12 hours ago so now its random stuff
this week's update was mainly the new renderer which has its own channels
Okay, but why am I completely unable to play or even log in on mobile?
#archived-mobile-help could ask there
I just did.
i don't get mantas at zulrah at all anymore and while I can live with every other loot table nerf it makes me very thad as an iron man
very hard to get noted mantas anywhere besides masters and a few bosses I was about to send.
I think reducing the amount would have felt better than reducing their drop rate by 75%
yep, it is harder to get passive food as an iron now
dark crabs with a fishing barrel is a good alternative
I mean, getting some hard food isn't all that bad. It's that mantas are a top tier food, and it was a silver lining to me while 1.9k dry at zulrah to be making a fat stack of mantas. I feel like food 10% better than sharks from content like zulrah, vork, and muspah isn't op.
mantas and dark crabs heal the same though.
My 8k stack of mantas is also mainly from zulrah
right, but for one I'm fishing actively and the other I'm bossing. Like I could also do trawler or something, but I don't think the manta drops were problematic. no ree, but they're actually the only way for uim to stack mantas in the game.
While i also enjoy the benefits of getting all my skilling activity done through bossing, it really shouldnt be the case
yeah mantas were/are largely a pvm drop because the only actual source was trawler
and yknow. thats trawler
that's kind of a leap
same for sea turtles iirc
Yeh i know that uims had the same problem back when it used to drop 100 noted sharks, and they changed that to the 35 mantas
I wouldn't be surprised if they planned on having the sailing/fishing hybrid method be a possible source for mantas/sea turtles
that'd be cool
and they wanted to nerf the boss drops now so the economy could start shifting a little earlier
would it hurt them to make shark bait not suck in the meantime 😭
I'm open to other sources being added to maybe keep building a stack for harder content
but like it's not about skilling vs not skilling. it's there's no way for uim to even stack manta or crabs any other way
i doubt that you will get many noted fish from sailing though
I skilled 15k sara brew doses
If I could skill it i would
i'd argue that for a high tier food three pretty decent mid/early late game bosses dropping some food that's like bis in tob isn't so far fetched.
its all a conspiracy to move UIMs to pvp worlds
Would anyone like jagex to create a server with the 2009,2010 version of runescape?
sure, id like them to make it a project zanaris option
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but jagex scrapped project zanaris
<@&385422009930219520>
they should unscrap it
how can they code a trailblazer reloaded toggle and then not release it to me
where are those hard drives 😭
Its fine for people to ask Jagex for different versions of osrs 🤔
I wouldnt consider that rule breaking
ah i see, they had posted it in another channel first, where they had this
"Would anyone like to create a server with the runescape version of 2009,2010?"
now that would be rulebreaking
i want old varrock too current varrock is ugly and not nostalgia, but honestly i could not care less, 0%, compared to trailblazer reloaded 🔥
i guess its fair asking for jagex to do it, but they are just putting the message in different groups, seems like they are just looking for private servers tbh
Ive looked into it further ty for letting me know
I know no one cares about linux nerds, but the new renderer finally is able to do fluid 50 fps on my gaming pc. The old C++ renderer was unable to do 30 fps in Varrock for some unknown reason. Runelite was perfectly fine
looking forward to finally be able to move to the official client
Thats quite nice, considering linux users are usally getting shafted, and might not even get to play whenever jagex fully requires their launcher to play
Hopefully with Linux becoming more popular for gaming thanks to SteamOS they'll take some time to make OSRS have official Linux support
yeh
I do remember Mod Ash mentioning interest in it a while ago
that just seems like a higher up decision rather than something the devs get to decide
very true, but the devs could get it to their attention and explain how easy (hopefully) it'd be to support Linux
Yes, basically the manager in charge of the launcher was deeply against Linux support. They've now left the business and Linux support is being considered again
we should have a polling booth in the gauntlet room, don't make me have to leave the prison cell to vote
Put one in with Hunlleif so he can voice his opinion
not official, but its pretty easy to do it with a package from github
used to take me about an hour to an hour and a half to fully set it up on deck, now it takes about 15-20 minutes
I'm confused, the poll mentions changes for newer players, but I don't see a single change that has to do with newer players
I think that's more the unpolled stuff
That's not either though
well yes it is
Id hardly call Kandarin medium diary or Tithe Farm a new player thing
the sheep herder improvements and the hunter experts giving hunter kits
charter ship numbering
world map font
pet insurance changes helps noobs that spoon a pet and end up losing it because they died, and don't have the money to reclaim it
fremennik sea boots teleport changes lets people use the teleport with the easy and medium fremmy diary
It's no wonder everyone is confused starting this game if this is what jagex considers new player improvements
New poll looks great. Does anyone know if nex spiritual creatures are still bugged? (I.e. air weakness and no 200% fire weakness)
free pets is cool
honestly though, why do we need to have free reclaim?
like, literally having to go reclaim it
True it could just be kept on death like in leagues
yeah seems a bit silly to not just do that if that was a thing
unless that's what they meant
in leauges they dont stay though
you just get infinite reclaims
Still bugged lol
Im sure its a spaghetti code thing
oh ya, you can claim it for free
what they COULD do
is add a pet reclaim at death spots
but that feels a little private servery
I wish they just didnt go poof on death
that would be WAY better
or pet thing in the bank would work too i guess
Have they tried adding them before and they got reverted like the tool leprechauns did?
Related to Question 6, but please expand the point cap at BA. There’s no good reason why it’s so low points (5k each role).
VM went from 65k to 2.147M as well.
That is all.
BA is spaghetti code so they cant change it
I will risk the the tbow spawn returning

you remove the cap and suddenly queen kills are a bool
that turns on/off after every kill
While we're addressing the Fremmy sea boots can we also address it's southern neighbor? Currently you get 1 teleport to Sherlock with hard diary and unlimited once you hit elite.
Can we change the number of teleports they provide increase with tiers from 1 → 3 → 5 → Unlimited as you progress through Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite
This should be done for everything tbh.
however i think currently, some diaries offfer unlimited at hard?
sherlock has a teleport?
often forget it exists tbh, cammy tele is enough
I think the lumbridge diary offers unlimited at hard tier
Even the desert diary. It unlocks 1 teleport at medium, nothing for hard, and unlimited at elite
yea its very odd how the teleports are balanced
(they arent)
back before i had ardy elite, id just teleport to the ardy farm patch 5 times a day then wait for reset lol
ardy is just omega tier broken
Should just be a flat 1-3-5-unlimited
well 1-3-5-unlimited is a nerf to lumbridge i think lol
but thats ok if everything else gets re-balanced
yeah elite is split between ring and fairy ring
Double cave goblin wire is received when thieving
huge elite bonus
lumby beiing 1-3-unlimited makes more sense because elite = dramen free teleports
some diaries are giga game changing and some arent lol
much like CA's, once you get elite CA tier then the rewards past that are whatever. but 25% more superiors is insane
double thrall timer is huge lmao
its not huge, it saves some runes an prayer points
not even close to how good the elite rewards are
like yea its nice to not need to summon thrall all that often, but i wouldnt call it huge lol
if anything the ghommal penny for the rare bit of skilling is better
That would be nice 👍
I was thinking 10% charges saved instead of 5 but +2 prayer makes a lot more sense
put it on par with radas
the abilty to stuff the penny inside the elite blessing to make it Ghommal's lucky blessing
the benefit of double thrall timer is less the resources saved and more that you only need to actually go to your spellbook and summon a new thrall half as often
dont have to think about doing it as often
Super nice to have
Especially at bosses where fights are usually a bit over 1 min
Pre-master tier, it always felt bad when my thrall expired 15 seconds before the fight finished
Yep, and technically, half prayer thralls would be better for a bulk of content
Olm is one example
wardens was another
Verzik technically
before thrall update, master was 50% longer thralls right? or am i crazy
Yes
yea master was 30 sec extra thall, GM was 1 min extra
No no, you’re crazy (gaslighting)
also ghommal’s penny should get +1 prayer bonus
however does that scale with magic lvl? i know if i heart an thrall my thrall is out for 1:45 instead of 1:30
before the changes to GM moving down to Master
probably cause i personally dont feel a huge different post update
but i dont boost magic things so 🤷♂️
if u had master before then it's not that noticeable
if u didn't have it it' svery noticeable
ok ye, not crazy confirmed, ty
places where u have ovl u notice it less also
Yes, thrall duration scales with magic level. You can see the times here https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Thrall
does the mastr increase scale first or is it magic lvl scaled first then trhall time increase
ie - 1 min thrall + 15 with heart becomes 2:30 with master
looks like it scales with magic lvl first then the bonus is 2x
so master thrall hearted is 2 mins and 15 seconds
If you have master you get 2ticks per magic level. If you dont u get 1tick per level. So the bonus is getting boosted by the CA threshold as well.
Pet Reclaim - wanted to bring up another problem.
The 1M fee is one part, but having to go to Probita to get the pet back is another issue.
I’d argue that if pets went to gravestones and cost 50k to reclaim, you’d find a much bigger gold sink and people would willingly pay 50k NOT to have to go to Probita in most cases.
If you’re super broke, then reclaiming from Probita is an option, but I’d pay 100k towards the 500k cap just for pets alone
Oof the old android mobile render engine stays open when I turn off my screen or switch to another app. The new render engine dies right away
New renderer not rendering roughly 50% of the poison splats on vorkaths special
Ouch
Jagex introduced hard mode vorkath
Or just free but in gravestone
50k vs 2 law runes oh the horror
If they’re going to remove the fee altogether, might as well just make pets not get lost on death
Extra steps for 0
Yeah that’s why I want a middle ground for us lazy folks
I will pay for the convenience
As many others have said already can we also get rid of the strange pet restrictions when it comes to where they will follow you
Seaweed runs are annoying to do with a pet
Make it 100k and have an auto insure toggle where it will be pulled from your coffer/bank and the pet stays with you. If you don’t have enough for the fee, it goes to probita? Till you claim
That’d be really nice tbh
Do we know if there is an appetite to introduce the clan bingo functionality in game as they showed off on a summer jam post a long time ago?
There is.
Wish there was more features added for clans
Maybe in poll 86
Still nice they added something after years
just to confirm curse of arrav quest is not required for varla part 3 right?
wiki just says heart of darkness and perilous moons
