My current pacts(only have 8) are going towards a crossbow build but I plan on resetting it later. Trying to choose a first region. I'm pretty sure I'm doing Kandarin because it's the safest pick. The multipliers do make it harder, thats fair. And if you arent there for the challenge of it, that does feel bad.

You do not need to rely on tile markers, they exist so that you can skip the learning part of the game. Your reliance on them is self-imposed, but it is easier. This is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Safespotting and praying against incoming attacks is a basic combat skill, learned as early as fairy tale 1 doing the tangleroot by corner trapping.

Based on your feedback, this feels more like you dislike the part where its challenging you to grow, because you just want it done and over with. This is not an insult or judgement, just analysis trying to get to the roots. Its perfectly fine if you arent interested in the challenges before you, but to call it badly designed is
