There's still the issue of needing three of these ingots just to make a ring, which implies the true yield of those 240 ores is abysmal. Like, with those ratios, it's like the adamant and rune are being used as a flux to extract something else from somewhere.
Also, it's the rod of ivandis that's silver + mithril. You make a bar of that alloy for the extreme balance potion during the vampyre questline in rs3.

Alloys don't address the fundamental issue of smithing so I don't think they have any reason to expand upon them.
