Soo years ago I taught as a drum instructor at a local high school, one of the students I was teaching was a foreign exchange student from Japan. Awesome kid, think he was a junior at the time. As a joke he would playfully bow and call me Sensei in front of his classmates and ofc they always had a good laugh. One day the director of the department over heard him call me that and he later that day jokingly called me senpai in front of the other teachers in the department. I played Destiny with 2 of them every other night and they convinced me to change my game name to senpai
