I am playing through a 1936 start as Denmark and my ally, Italy, is declaring war on my other ally, Japan, due to "Incursion leads to War". Since there is such a great distance between these two nations, especially with the limited range of WWII era units, I was curious as to the source of the incursion. I have a save game just prior to the war breaking out.

Taking my save game file and loading it into Multiplayer so that I can select to play as either Italy or Japan, I am unable to find the source of the incursion. As far as I can tell, there are no units of either nation remotely close to eachother's territory, let alone even on similar sides of the world. Which leads me to wonder, what actually causes "Incursion leads to War"? Because in this case, it seems impossible that a unit from Japan has entered any Italian territory.

It could be from a previous incursion. Usually if they go into territory at some point, and they declare war later it'll get cited

Yeah I was hoping if I loaded the save file as Italy, I would be able to view the "Territorial Incursion!" message Italy would receive and identify the location of the incursion. But no message arrives, so maybe while my save file is prior to the war declaration, it is too late and misses the actual incursion message.

Overall, not a big deal to me, just piqued my curiosity since I cannot find the source, nor anything close to being the source. I know later game, units can start mixing all over the place. But with a relatively early WWII era campaign, I was impressed Japan was able to logistically travel all the way to Italian territory. But, alas it appears not, and the incursion source continues to evade me
