Tone: Lush and fantastical JRPG story with complex emotional depth and themes of oppression; think Valkyria Chronicles meets Eternal Sonata. Bright set pieces and heartfelt character moments balanced against themes of realistic oppression, personal struggle, and emotional self-discovery.
Requirements: A decent microphone, consistent internet, and an interest in character-driven storytelling. (Heavy themes will arise, but real world political debates or heated topics are not allowed. Respect for others at the table is expected as a baseline.)

Cascada is a radiant technicolor world shaped by Melodia, an invisible emotional resonance that turns feelings into music, and gives all life on earth it's inherent tone and color. Cities float amongst waves of harmonics, strange forests bloom in the tune of forgotten keys, and crashing storms bring positive omens for those who trust in it's rhythm. And yet the world’s great guiding force, the WorldHymn, has fallen into an extended silence for the first time in history.
Resulting from it's absence, the rigid Arrowfeld Creed has rose to power, preaching that uncontrolled emotion is dangerous and must be contained. Through “purification,” they drain natural Melodia from communities; leaving them obedient, but hollow and lifeless. As fear spreads and discord corrupts the land, strange anomalies called Disonant Faults appear; Fractured spaces born from collective trauma and suppressed emotion.
You begin your journey at the dawn of this crisis, drawn into a small group of unlikely allies whose hearts resonate in ways they don’t yet understand. A simple assignment quickly unravels into a conspiracy involving strange beasts, sealed memories, and the dangerous truth behind the WorldHymn’s disappearance.
What melodies will your emotions create?

Tales Of Melodia, heavily inspired by the Tales series, is a linear campaign that seeks to tell the personal stories of the PCs within; Their history and triumphs that ultimately lead them down the rebellious path they take to dismantle the oppressive Arrowfeld Creed. Players are encouraged to create characters that have strong musical themes (mostly around music terms and sound-based vocabulary.) Players are free to build their Level 5 PCs with any of the official additional supplements that have been provided; Homebrew can be ran by me, but it's not guaranteed to make it in.
IMPORTANT: This game is using milestone-based leveling and is being played with a prebuilt world, so the group World Creation portion of the usual Session 0 will not be included. I will talk with players 1-on-1 about their character origins and locales, which will be established prior to Session 0.
