“This was never meant to happen. Realms, each delicate in their design, each cradled by its own laws, stars, and gods were never meant to touch. Yet here we stand... watching them fall into one another like dying stars.”
It began not with a battle, but a curiosity, a question whispered by gods who should have known better. Across seven realms, each deity sought a greater understanding of the force that binds all things: Existence. One by one, they reached beyond their Veils, unknowingly weaving threads meant to remain severed.
Then came the fracture.
Teyvat’s skies grew strange, its constellations unfamiliar. On the Star Rail, the Astral Express received signals in tongues long extinct. In the Sea of Quanta, the ripple became a tidal wave. In New Eridu… the Hollows multiplied, pulsing with anomalies from places that defy reason. Even Jinzhou, home to Resonators, felt the stirrings, as ancient Tacet Discords screamed louder in reaction to unseen forces.
Thus Ecliptide was eventually born and we are all stuck here, forced to watch things crumble until we go with it, we are The Vigil, a coalition of scholars, seers, fighters, and survivors drawn from every world before their final collapse. I believe the gods gifted us something in reluctancy, a device forged from these.. crystals of divine power and we used parts from the astral express to power it and now we have a Tetherlink.
The Tetherlink binds to the soul of the bearer, allowing them to traverse new memories of their own world and other twisted echoes of what once was. Through these echoes, the Awakened can uncover the mistakes of the gods, face horrors born from their arrogance, and piece together a path to undo the collapse or forge a new world from its ruins.
You are Awakened, a soul unbound by a single world, touched by forces that seek to fix what’s broken… or finish unraveling it.
You are not alone. You will find allies, yes, but you will also find versions of yourself you may not recognize.
The Vigil watches, guides, and fights beside you. They cannot enter and exit the heart of Ecliptide… but you can.
