Description:
In the dark and isolated Mandela County, people live in fear—not of the dark, but of their own homes. Alternates, sinister beings that mimic and replace people, have grown more bold. They infiltrate through screens, mirrors, and even voices, taking on human form but with something off, something wrong.
As officers in the Mandela County Police Department (MCPD), you’ve heard the rules: “Do not answer calls from people about to die.” It’s standard protocol—there’s nothing you can do once an Alternate has them in its grip. Your training taught you that.
But tonight, a call comes in from a man named Mark Heathcliff, screaming for help. You’re supposed to ignore it, write it off like all the others… but something feels different. Lieutenant Thatcher, an officer who’s been secretly investigating Alternates ever since the outlawing of television, urges you to break protocol and assist. Why?
Mark’s call holds secrets. And what’s worse, the Alternates are evolving, and the very rules that once kept you safe are starting to break down. The line between real and unreal blurs as paranoia grows, and no one can be trusted—not even each other.
With Thatcher guiding you through the nightmarish streets and alleys of Mandela County, it’s up to you and your team to uncover the truth behind the Alternates, Mark’s plea for help, and the forces at play that reach far beyond the county lines.
