System: Play-by-post strategy similar to Total War
Date/Time: A promise! to be active and engaged. A couple posts a week
Available Spots: 3
Preferred Experience: Literate, creative, open to adventure!!
Preferred Player Age: 22+
First and foremost, must be age 22 and up to participate. Sorry kids, this campaign ain't for the feint of heart and applicants must have a tolerance for descriptions up to a grimdark level. Thank you.
Second, this campaign will happen in about 2-2.5 months from now, but we're looking for a tight knit in-group. The quintessential applicant will be an interesting even eclectic individual with a passion for writing, history, and/or storytelling.
Also, some context before I get into the pitch- we're debating on setting but thus far have landed on something cohesive i.e. Necromantic Gauls. However, if someone were to suggest a different setting, they are encouraged to make that proposal! The only certainty is we want to play a pbp large scale war-strategy game with friends. Similar to the style of Total War or Dawn of War where you will be manipulating a BIG army of 10,000+ men. And this will be accompanied by maps, maps, and more maps!
The Pitch:
You are a Gallic commander backed into a corner. Your men have been cut down by the Roman onslaught, that at every turn have battered you, broken you. Resources are stretched thin. It's beginning to dawn on you that your enemies are to overrun your countrymen, your villages pillaged, and your people's wives and children enslaved. Your last hope is to turn toward an ancient and poorly understood magic, even unpredictable! But predictable enough that you know if you perform the ritual, the souls of the undead will bow to your command... and the bodies of the slain will reinforce your ranks.
