This happens outside both elevation and azimuth. Typically an autolock will occur if the radar FOV is moved over the target.
This can be exploited to confirm a target is able to be locked without pointing the radar at them.

Expected behaviours would either be an immediate STT via autolock, or no visible target on the radar screen.

I just assumed this was intended behaviour because TWS also holds track outside of azimuth

yeah i think if thats the case, autolock should just grab them

but showing the target and not locking them is messed up
