In multiplayer, I was flying solo in the instructor seat when I was being locked up by a MAD-4. I had turned off my flares to conserve them as I turned to notch the MAD-4. Switch the CMS page to set them to auto, I saw that my flares was still on and pressing the button deployed them as well, despite the switch being off. I will provide a video when able.

Correction, the switches in the instructor seat do not work for flares or chaff
