in theory
but this one is made in cheap plastic
and it's even closer to a fox than a rabbit, to me .-.
It is full of symbolism
except that this part is a flash back, so there are more things we can take for granted
especially since we have the first part of Birthday to confirm most of it
I am going to main the animals are different people but share the same souls of the old islanders family
hey @copper hawk is there a fast way to skip to the sliding rooms puzzle in Paradox?
you have to get the picture peices I know to open the cupboard
the books I can remember
nope, there's no way
the only way to activate the first trigger to continue the game, wether in chapter 1 or 2, is by completing the pieces, including the one inside the two sliding boxes
ok, thanks
Stilts could be a posiblity of David as a 9yo of having stilts and also great magic back then, since he already got the blue cube and bend time itself to save his family.....
no, that's purely part of the memory, they're all dead, and no one saved them
Ah. Even though I just finished Birthday i should of knew that.
I was dipping into the whole "no eyes" thing into the white rabbit mask. Maybe it was covered by a mask, of where you cannot see their face.
the thing is, the Lake is changing Dale's memories for... whatever reason
and it decided to help Dale "fight back" the killer
by killing him in his mind
though it didn't change anything in real life
So the last black cube was just like inception? A dream within a dream then?
Case 23 highlights it in the entire game, i think.
no, case 23 is legit in every way, what you see is what happens (if you don't count the weird things like a beard transforming into a baby crow...)
Right now, I am playing Case 23, it is legit of where Dale is back at his real job.
I was thinking what if Case 23 was a dream for the corrupted soul to suffer with, the soul wants out badly.
I do need help with the last bit though, i just posted in #🛖|the-cabin
I'm beginning to wonder and theorize about an aspect of some of the games: Ceilings. Why do we see it in some, but not others? Is there always a ceiling, and we just can't see it? What was the last game when ceilings were a thing? Who can, or can't see them?
It's just gameplay mechanics, there are no ceiling conspiracies
my school friend tell me it, and its really semelhance
hey, yours did caroline is the only that not become a humanoid anima?
@night forge as far as I know mill is the last one with a playable ceiling
I guess there just wasn’t a need for one in the others
Where there were ceilings, all of them had some aspect to the puzzle except for the roof of the mill’s attic and turbine room, and the roof of case 23’s chapel and cabin
Come to think of it
I think all the games without ceilings are also the ones with the shelf inventory, so I guess between mill and hotel they just made a mechanics change
Caroline is kind of included in Mr. Owl I think. It's kind of confusing.
I guess because it was her memories that were put in the lake, and were transferred into Jakob I think
Paradox you can see only the top of the room, the eye of Dale is looking down at himself as a cartoon version.
I’m not quite sure what you mean
The actual room does have a ceiling, you just can’t look at it in the game
It’s not open on top or anything
I am wondering if each cube is in the underneath of the hotel, and case 23, since both are extremely large areas.
Also roots and hotel.
what ?...
@past wren Can you clarify maybe?
Just an idea we had about a few weeks ago, of how each game stacks into one another, or was it in the same long gated city itself, like what if you really escape from room to room.
Sorry been writing down a lot of notes on my comp. There is still a lot more going on. 😃 I am a huge geek in this way.
I'm really sorry but I have absolutely no idea what you're saying
I'm a huge geek too 😃
@past wren The problem with what you're proposing, are the games that take place outside, assuming that you mean each room of the game are all connected, and It's all fake. I dunno. Just seems like...
Like it's a little far-fetched.
Elevator tells me otherwise, @night forge
ok, so
there are 2 elevators
one that goes from the cabin to the bottom of the Lake
and the other one from the Cube to the Hotel
only two elevators, one for the first few games, and the other one submerges.
and every game where we see an elevator, except Case 23 since it's when he got in, and Cave since we're not in Dale's point of view, is inside of Dale's head, so this means Birthday, Theatre and Paradox are just in Dale's head, 2 of them are memories, and Paradox is most likely during the machine in Cave
It's actively shown that Birthday and Theatre are just memory cubes floating in the Lake
and that Dale relives those memories
so no, Rusty Lake isn't meta
I know what you said to me red, unless you are saying it in the group.
I am looking up each item in the game, I am starting to wonder more and more down the rabbit hole.
what group? 🤔
@plucky swallow group of people here. 😃
ok
Well finished Seasons, Birthday, The Mill, Harvey's Box, Alres last night...
It meta
I told you so it was meta!!! 😛
It's not
What do I think about this life... ?
... that's... obviou...s.
It's a shit game.
Seven billion players are moving plans around as they please.
It's a crappy game with no rules or objective.
You get penalized if you win or loose to much...
You're pressured if you stay silenced, you're shunned if you talk.
If it's not a shit game, what is it ?
i have no idea if you're joking and this is going over my head but sure there's an objective
it's to find the good stuff in life
like rusty lake
It's a No Game No Life quote
ah
Don't worry, I'm not THAT depressed
And in Spore, the meaning of life of the creatures you encounter is... To search for the meaning of their lives .-.
And it's kinda depressing
It's just an endless search, and if they ever find, then their lives don't matter anymore
°-°
Why do I think about stuff like that
It's super depressing and dark
Sorry about that
I'll try to not do that again
Have you read the Library of Babel short story @copper hawk
It’s an interesting concept
Eh..... Well there is always the short film, making it reality.
Heard of Farenheit 451, of where the author predicted almost everything we take, for granted today?
I can almost make this entire Rusty Lake into like CSI: SVU.
So
How does Williams soul be in two places at once?
Is it time travel or can he split the soul
Well part one and part two
what ?
The well part one and part two (sorry homonym 😃 )
AH
uh
Souls have been shown to teleport
so he just alternates between the two points of view I guess
Although it would seem like you are playing as him all the way through each part, not switching back and forth
May just be gameplay tbh
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, but there are actions that the characters do without the help of William
William puts the stuff in the bucket too though, considering Frank can’t even get off his rock and past the grate without the stick
That’s how I saw it at least
the rest of it is just gameplay made to... play a game
but it could've just been made by Frank and Rose themselves
yeah ?
I’m not sure it was intentional
Considering all the other guests were killed by Harvey
Do you think it was the camera flash startling her like someone said?
I think she really was depressed
She was already on the edge of the roof
Harvey just gave her a push
Ok, for this you have to believe me
But most depressive people smile all the way through
That’s true yeah
It’s just there’s nothing indicating that she was depressed any more than the other guests imo
But the only other explanation is the flash startled her... which I’m not sure about
she was supposed to play 3 roles during the same show...
she has a puppet show of Guignol and the policeman that DESTROY each other...
the photo of Mr. Crow with a knife...
The fact that she carries a pistol with her...
I mean there are plenty of evidence she isn't mentally stable
Well they all seem far from mentally stable...
Keeping a baby bird locked up to electrocute, a stoned boar eating his own poop...
Mr boar has a massive axe in his room
Mr deer has a deer skull
What Harvey did is, seeing her stress and kinda obvious suicidal tendencies...
He just gave her the pistol "for the shoot", if you know what I mean
for me it is
but I spend way too much time with depressed people
And I kinda fit in the group
Just remember you have everyone here on this server with you
You’re part of this community, and it wouldn’t be the same without you
yeah
it's actually kind of difficult to imagine red not being here
❤ ❤ ❤
It’s a friend heart 😃
:P
Though there’s nothing at all wrong with homo
Of course
I do wonder why and how Dale handle all the weird stuff in Laura's house
i bet he thought the same thing john mulaney did when getting an impromptu prostate exam
I am biploar myself, I can really understand what the calm lake can tranquil yourself, one of my early paintings in class was in fact "Tranquil Lake"
huh...
Life is funny that way.
red: What you mean by "She has a puppet show of Guignol?
Yup, seems that way
Seriously I can understand why she does not want house guests 😃
@plucky swallow I think it could of been the flash and the stress behind each photo, clock, music box, as well as getting the wet pallet on the reel.
Thought that was a Mr. Rogers reference : Neighborhood of make believe.
It’s supposed to be wet, it’s a silver halide solution or something (glass plates were used before film)
Np I’m distracted literally 100 % of the time 😃
Cheers Greenpixel 😃
Cheers 🥂
What does each symbol mean, like the target, circle, square?
I also noticed the white fur underneath the brown, rabbit's face in hotel. Makes me wonder if they are brothers or distant cousins. Even though we all know if - DNA connected to their mother.
Why is there two bellhops in Rusty Lake hotel?
Mr. Crow is the receptionist
Mr. Bat is the bellboy
and Harvey is roomservice
He actually the concierge
Ah thanks. I am starting to type up notes on my comp, and just wondering why...
Well, he's both
Mr. Owl is kind of in a lack of personnel
Eh febel old fool.
Before the elixeir or after it?
Ah. thanks again. Just pulling my own hyposis.
Yeah we have a guesstimate
Architech design reminds me of my other stomping grounds, of Victorian Houses up in Boston.
I think that camed to play around when John Quincy was still around. I am not so sure.
Well he was a young man in the late 18th century
Honestly the hotel has a Gilded Age feel
Also Dale said beard give birth to crow
But wears the owl mask😖
Dale was not around until after Seasons though.
Yes gameplay wise
But he older then Laura by five years
Duel animal thing hint at something
Funny thing there is a few buildings down here, that is a sort of like dumb down version of Gilded age, a few are just across the street of where, I get my hair cut around that area.
I was right about Victorian houses, there is an image on google in NYC.
Well I know this because my family, father and mother's own stomping arounds are in Boston 😃 on subject yeah it could be that of the earilest.
Wonder if Nichalos and Dale are brothers?
I'm done
OOPS LOOKS LIKE I BROKE RED 😮
Nicholas Eilander : at least in his 30-40s in Paradise
So he was born around 1760
Dale Vandermeer : december 18, 1930
Ah, come now, lets have fun 😮
So unless Mrs. Pigeon is somehow Dale's mother, there's no way they're brothers
Then why do we see the deer chasing him in case 23?
Because Dale is in Mr. Owl's side
kind of
Then what side does Nicholas belong to?
The side of the killed and eaten hotel guests x)
Ah.
Now what is the monster of the lake?
Well water, monster of the lake, water kills.
well I was going for the cube of prospective, thinking of foggy areas, mostly the game throughout it, it is fog.
I was more thinking of this monster, but now it will forever be the tetanus monster in my mind
True, I can practically see the tetanus coming off it
Actually thats what the dots are
It's the gigantic fish we can see in Paradise while he was a baby, and in Cave in the submarine
Idk it doesn't look like that fish at all
Oh that one. That giant monster...oops...
this?
No worries @past wren I am prone to posting ambiguous questions 😃
ok but like that doesn't disprove it's not the tetanus monster
this is a pretty big, beefy looking fish
ALL EVIDENCE points towards a tetanus monster
overtime i bet it has eaten so many fish hooks from fishermen that it's just like
50% metal at this point
Not to mention metal chests
That is a pretty big, beefy awesome neato fish, I wonder how i could not see him in the cave?
You see him only breifly
It's on a very specific location on the map
plus once in Paradise
i don't remember seeing him in paradise
That screenshot is from the standard walkthrough
There is another fish from the easter egg
I don't remember if its the same one or not
Plus the merfish!
Wow. I have never seen that fish:O
oh jesus
Ikr
the second one is the baby
Yeah those are both the Easter Egg fish
I think the second one could be the Tetanus monster
What? Is ? that giant eye?
the second one is literally rust colored
and on the eye you can see X : 11
it's part of an easter egg
there's a legged fish and some other thing that hold the Y and Z
and it gets you idk where
oh i did find that fish in paradise
huh
well i hope the tetanus monster comes back in future installments
I know right, i wish they would of have those easter eggs in the mobile game.
oh yeah Y : 5
oh not playing it right now 😄 Finished hotel, got the sad ending.
But this is like sticks on here, until the next poster does, thanks 😄 I will keep that in mind.
I have read your theories this afternoon, RED, they are very nice
I am starting to wonder, if they had much more lighter magic instead of like having "good memories of one another.." Unless that is it though.
What do you mean ?
Maybe rebirth though, that did a white cube.
I know that each birth is something very happiness, and next to it is the downfall of death, ergo white and black cubes we all have within, no matter what we had duration of a day or two within.
But would it be a mandatory in this case ?
death?
Nope, a white cube for a rebirth
It could be mandatory for a huge rebirth, but something prepexulated me with the ending of hotel, why was there a white cube, when after that Harvey set off so many red flags for everyone?
I have no idea for this 🤔 But can we call Aldous' "rebirth" as Mr Crow a huge one ?
Well if Mr. Crow was a hoarder and gave away over and over, for each crime he committed on pourpose, think someone hired Dale to investigated .
So it means something is missing in the story. Btw, is it possible that some cube escape game could be added before Paradox in the timeline ? I think that the transition between Theatre and Paradox is quite weird
Cube Escape: Case 23
Cube Escape: The Mill
Rusty Lake Hotel
Cube Escape: Birthday
Cube Escape: Theatre
Rusty Lake: Roots
Cube Escape: The Cave
Rusty Lake Paradise
Cube Escape: Paradox
Paradox - A Rusty Lake Film
Oops ok
Its from here, underneath #📚|resources @vague imp You have to play them in order. I have been playing them in double sequence.
You're missing a few from the beginning
meaning after I killed it in Case 23, done the mill, at the same time as Birthday, and The Cave. I just finished Hotel a few evenings ago.
@manic glade I know, its at the useful links url, Vevarda was just asking about paradox.
All of the games come before paradox 😛
And timeline wise that's definitely not the right order
Care to collabrate on it @manic glade ?
On what?
This timeline is questionable, but it is the most plausible. But thanks
you said "And timeline wise that is definitely not in the right order" what is the main time then?
Well if nothing else Paradise happens in the 1700s. Definitely not after...any of the other games
I'll have to change the timeline
there's a consensus that Paradox plays while Dale is in the machine in Cave
and also, if you look at the way the elevator moves in Birthday and Theatre, it takes place after Cave
and sure, we don't see the golden cube in Dale's hands, but his hands are behind his back, so it's still a possibility
Also, the fact that Dale has a therapy about who he is, including his traumatizing past (Paradox ch 2), and right after that, a therapeutic win over the killer in his mind (Birthday) makes a lot of sense
the other way around doesn't fit as nicely
I would agree that paradox comes before theatre and birthday
We really do not know what is really inside, but is is just a strange new clump of emotions. I think that Cave starts before The Mill, adding the hotel just in the middle level too. therapy for him would be fishing.
No, it's clear that it's the 2 first chapter of Case 23, Mill, the 2 last chapters of Case 23, Cave, Paradox, Birthday, Theatre
So what is the beginning?
Do not say Seasons, i have a funny feeling it is something else.
Bingo, it is the events, not the full game, since it is too time travelish.
Lake is happening almost like within a different box, inside seasons.
Even though the game feels short, i think it is like a portal to like Summer event in seasons.
It could be, considering we use a code that comes from another memory to change what happens
Right.
@past wren mill takes place at the same time as case 23, and case 23 is where Dale travels down the elevator. Since in cave Dale is already down the elevator, cave should take place after mill
Funny @plucky swallow That is how I just finished up Mill and picked up Case 23.
well, Dale is teleported to the Chapel by Mr. Owl during Mill
So Mill takes place at the same time as My office
not "The Office" but my office, hahaa.....that would be so cool of Steve Carrell looked like Dale...
Actually
the events of Mill take place during several months
because we teleport Laura in the Mill, which is something we see in The investigation
and there are months that pass during Case 23 ch1 and ch 2
hmm..... Television clues.
so Mill is just a fast forward in time from Mr. Crow's perspective
if we just hurled just on the television numbers, random ones that can be like dates. three of a kind like in paradox.
?????
Anyways @copper hawk
The timeline for mill is weird because you see both investigation and my office in the tv
So they could theoretically be recorded tapes
Because it wouldn’t make much sense to be live
Recording tapes, like a very strange wifi thing.
Except
Because if Laura on the tv was live Dale on the tv would y have happened yet
Even though they do not have wifi back then though.
you teleport Laura and you see Owl teleporting Dale
so it's not just tapes, it's just a way to tell the story in fast forward
Exactly, time must be weird in the mill
no, there is no time bending I think, just storytelling
Time was really weird in the Mill, it was like huge gasps around each single look of each puzzle.
But you can look out the window with the telescope before you see Laura on the tv though
I think?
Wait, what triggers Laura on the tv again?
I have a strong memory on that Green, the cow utters is what triggers Laura being on the television.
Each symbol if you really did your homework.
I... don’t think so...
In the lake, i just noticed when the black cube is floating around, it is sunny out.
Ok Laura on the tv just shows up when you get to the top floor
There is no trigger
I suspect it’s just gameplay like you said @copper hawk
yeah, not everything has to be true
there are things that are just made because of the medium it's on
Or mr crow is just standing there in the attic for a year
“Hurry up Dale! I’m getting a cramp!”
"My old bird bones, ah where is my drink?"
yeah, it's just months that pass by
But Laura can’t be a tape because Dale is on the phone
Investigation is in 1971 I think
Whatever I don’t think it matters
december 71 or something like that
Harvey is really getting strangled, like i think it follows her events at Hotel.
What does?
I'll have to go
I always stay way too long...
I wouldn't want to make a cute girl wait 😏
Jokes aside, bye
Could it be that the puppet show in hotel is a show about mr owls past? because Elizabeth (the girl puppet) was abusing Jakob (the boy puppet) until he was able to get his revenge only for her to burn him alive.
I don't think that burning the puppet is a reference, you have to do it in order to destroy it and get what's inside. There are puppets just for the Guignol reference
I do not get the burning puppets is a reflective part, inside Cube Escape series, Elizabeth could not know what she was doing all the time, because she was blind, virus two chapter. @wind depot
When was Rusty Lake launched? Thought it was two years ago, but I shared a facebook post, it dated Roots as a 2016 release.
I think it was three years ago? I am not much sure tbh
First games came out in 2015, yeag
Thanks buddy.
*yeah
And look about the fanbase still today.
Ah underneath f.b. they made Rusty Lake Hotel a bar XD
On subject, started Theater 😃
So got to Bob's green door, anyone know the combo?
Samsara room came out in 2013
Thank you RED.
no problem
On halloween, there was someone dressed as death, is that right, one with the white out eyes?
Here is another buzzworthy thing, what is the full name of Harvey?
since theyre laura's bird i assume their last name is vanderboom
In paradox, I accidently , without writing down the code, found a red tie. Is that a secret achivement?
I don't recall seeing Harvey's card, and I looked at them all
But I can search
and it's something you unlock with the codes you get by getting the 10 film related achievements
I think I did get all 10 film related achivements. It has been sometime since I have played Paradox.
when you look at the achievements in the game, they each represent a symbol
well, it gives you two codes, one for each chapter
And I can confirm, there is no Harvey card
and Harvey is his pet name
his "real name" should be Mr. Parrot
I mean you could argue that he's called Harvey Parrot but...
"Hi Mr. Parrot welcome to the hotel."
hmmm....something are just rolling off the tounge.
I mean it doesn't really sound dumber than "Mr. Crow" or "Mr. Owl"
It's just a question of being used to it
Psittaciformes Harvey?
sounds like someone just wrote in latin how about "ppstt its a Ciformes."
I should not think about this game, when I am going to bed ahh..... I am so out of here folks. Always just leave a message below and I will get back to you as humanity possible.
How did you come up with Psittaciformes ?
I googled the Latin name of parrot.
huh
A lot of times, even the most complexities are simple and dumb. Like I mentioned before RED. I really do not want to think about Rusty Lake before I go to sleep. I will see you soon. Peace out yall.
Actually it's Psittacus
Psittaciformes is the english latin name
Psittacus is the latin latin name
Ok, bye
Psittacus is a particular Genus of Parrot
Psittaciformes are an Order containing 393 species of birds that are all called Parrot
Psittacus contains two of those species, the Grey parrot and the Timneh parrot
I do have a question
Why are there significantly more black cubes?
I get it you're investigating a murder/suicide, or at least observing it
But they're just memories
Unless I missed how those machines work?
Extraction of ones memories into the lady of lake, @inner pumice It is at the heart of the matter, she gave up on her sight, from seeing way too much in the past.
You can find it in Theater.
I was not quoting the game, extraction does add up black cubes. White cubes is warmth emotions.
If you looked into Bob's brains, you can see white cubes, he looks at a photo of Laura, I think that there is something dealing with her case.
Yeah
I think it deals with the lake, at the end all you see is a bright light.
Maybe the apple symbolises light
apples, trees, seeds, plants in general of Rusty Lake, rebirth.
Bob is being reborn .
In theater, is there another ending to kill the soul at the end?
Nope, at least none that I know of
Did I miss something or we don’t know at all what’s Mr owl and Mr crow’s plan neither what’s the purpose of Dale in their plan?
Because, yeah, I get it, they need to feed the lake with memories, but why would they need Dale? And why the gold cube?
And what is it anyways?
Also that
in my opinion, the cube escape Seasons: Detective Dale was investigating the blonde girl
And his ex
Yes...
Dosen't she have a name?
Laura
Bob
Though, it doesn’t answer my questions at all
or well Robert "Bob" Hill
I think that's the reason why he became the part of it
And Shadowman is definetly not human right?
I summon you @copper hawk
there will be blood
Who dares ?
I
You
Me
And what do YOU want from me ?
Scroll up, and you shall get your answer!
Oh, I see
Well...
For why Dale is involved, I have... no clue, except if he really is Aldous' grand son, and in that case, it would be for family reasons
Any idea of what would be their plan?
Now, for Mr. Crow and Mr. Owl's plan, what they want is definitive immortality
Sure
the power of the elixir isn't perfect
and to work, it has to transmute a life into more life
since it's an imperfect alchemic product
what they're searching for
is the philosopher stone
You play Aldous
Wh... when was it mentioned in the games?
Enlighten me
The philosopher stone is an artefact able to break the laws of reality, and create anything out of fin air.
It's also said that it can give immortality to its owner.
And its most common representation is a golden stone.
give immortal life
golden stone...
I think you get where I'm going
Golden cube...
Oh
the golden cube isn't the philosopher stone per say
Also why the fuck is Vanderbloom still investigating this
oh, also, many of the real life recipes for the philosopher stone involves
what is called a "philosopher egg"
an EGG
that has mystical powers and can create an elixir...
WhaT A CoiNciDenCE
Indeed
AN eGg
Wait what
How, though?
I mean who cares at this point ?
Yeah
I do
No matter HOW it works
it works, and for a reason
I mean we can't really awnser how
Seeing as Vanderbloom is still investigating this when he really should be checked on
I love how I'm kinda your joker when there's a plot hole in your theories x)
Vanderboom*
And by this, I mean I did almost none
Yeah, I'm kinda obsessed with alchemy
so much so that I copied a book named Alchemia
I didn't finish, there's like 2 pages left to do
But I'd like to finish the puzzles firts
Hold on what's the first in the series (by the time it was made)
and it's... strangely hard, considering it's very basic
Seasons
No not chronologivally
The first rusty lake cube escape game made
Is samsara really connected?
Wait really?
Yeah, really
It's not officially said it's connected
But I think there is an untold link
Nope, Seasons was the first
they came out in the same order as they play on cubeescape.com
I don't really know, but it's really weird
Gotta leave the chat for a few minutes, see ya
for example, the body in the clock, that is clearly the former body of our character
really looks like Mr. Owl...
It looks nothing like Mr Owl
I can't play the samsara room
Even as a human
It's not in the app store...
it's only online
How the fuck did you get from Mr Owl to that fat dude
Yeah
I don't know...
But what site
Wait
Kongregate
Jakob's hair burned away for good
the fat bald man is Mr. Owl, yes
hnnnnnnn
It can't be Gerald either...
The Old Man in the boat isn't fat
what man in the boat ?
In i think Case 23?
the skinny old dude with a sawed mouth ?
Whatever one had a timed puzzle
that's Mr. Crow
Aldous Vanderboom
the same guy you play as in Mill and Cave
and one of the two Alchemists brothers
friend and employee of Mr. Owl

Possibly Dale's grandfather
Yeah
If Aldous is the father of Dale's mother, then it's possible
he got his name from his father
and his noble title from his grandpa
Mr. Meer married Mrs. Vanderboom, daughter of Aldous Vanderboom
And thus created the Vandermeer family
or at least Dale Vandermeer
since the father cannot get the title, as it passes through by blood
they're the Eilander
Sits back and waits for you to explain
Uh...
Sorry lol
There are clear signs that point the Eilander either being dead and coming back as the guests, or just transmutating as them
For exemple, their masks at the end of Paradise are the same animals as the guests
and Jakob is clearly shown to be transmutated as Mr. Owl
and no, not reborn, because as a human, Mr. Owl has no hair
which is the result of him being burned alive
Also, in Paradise, the sandwich level is clearly both based on Gerald, but also Mr. Boar
as we can see a Boar reaming in the forest
and it's a level based on a sandwich and shitting
the same as Mr. Boar's level in Hotel
Oh ok
Also also
The killer of the birthday massacre is a magician called D. Eilander and wearing a Rabbit mask
D. Eilander as in David Eilander, the possessor of the rabbit mask
Rabbit that also happens to be a magician in Hotel
they also all have a switch in personnality
seeing how they maybe died or came close to it, and wanted to start anew
sure whiskers paradox, but I'm talking about Paradox, and not Birthday
and in Paradox it's confirmed that it is David Eilander
Ohh... I thought you were talking about Birthday. Apologies 😅
no worries
Just thought about this: don’t you think Mr crow’s wife has something to do with all that. If not, she must be aware of what’s going on, because there’s a fricking hotel in the middle of the lake next to where she lives
Which is pretty unusual
It was more of a mental facility stylized to be a hotel of relaxation for me.
Also what clues can we gather from Paradox (movie)?
Seeing how Mr. Crow goes all the way to hide his true identity as to make a mask of his human face and sawing his mouth...
I think that she knows nothing about the paranormal side of the story
She only knows her husband works for a guy that happens to run the Hotel, and that he does weird things with corpses and cubes
I wouldn’t feel safe if I was married to somebody doing such things, tbh
Yeaaahhhh
Sawing the mouth would be especially creepy
She also has a bit of oddity... Locking herself in a small compartment in a mill...
Maybe she's insane too?
Which the key is stuck in a cobweb IN THE CEILING.
This is a puzzle game
so it's Mr. Crow that locks her up
maybe he just wants to protect her from all this nonsense
Well, he did a great job at that, amirite?
You heartless bastard
Apologies 😅
I couldn't help myself.
Also, can I address the laws of thermodynamics being ignored on the mill? You can hold molten gold with your bare hands while you need a mitten for an ovened turkey.
Yes
it's also done in Cave
Physics!
You hold it in a container
btw. I know it's a stupid question, but why was Harvey stuck in a box?
maybe because of Laura moving?
Or he got in the box and got stuck?
It's more convenient than a cage for moving, I suppose
A parrot like Harvey is quite small
Harvey's amazing
If I had a parrot in a huge cage, I wouldn't move with it, or I would move the cage several days/weeks before me
We need more harvey fanart
Harvey basically:
- Killed off 5 guests
- Gave a needed item or piece in every game he starred on
- Solved a puzzle
- Wrote a sonata
- Killed off a soul
What else...?
Good bird!
and have difficulty getting out of a fu***** box
Well... He did write a sonata, and he's cute
Yes
- He's cute
- We can't know which gender Harvey is for sure
Even the "real" Harvey in the Paradox movie is cute
He layed some eggs, so I believe Harvey had been a female for a long time
in theory,Harvey should be called Mr.Parrot as red said
If he "turned" male
Omg wait
Yep that's right 🤔
MR. Parrot.
Did you guys got into the chapter 2 secret ending with the promo thingamajig?
Yep
in game, Harveys gender has never been referred to
But you have to be a female to lay eggs (or Rusty Lake is the wierdest place ever about its biology)
Isn't Harvey a boy's name
that's true, but the name does sound male and also there are no visible beewbs when we see harveys humanoid form
Since 1880, a total of 114,861 boys have been given the name Harvey while we have no record of any girls being named Harvey.
Since 1880, a total of 114,861 boys have been given the name Harvey while we have no record of any girls being named Harvey.
And RL takes place in the 1900s
Yeah, but does this count for birds, too?
Maybe
maybe harvey is hermaphrodite
Darwin would be proud
heckin johnsson
(Then as it turns out, I was correct and Johnsson was actually the antagonist all along)
(Oh, I wish.)
Well
Actually you should get the stats for Harvey's name in the 1790s
Since he was in Paradise
So I'm pretty sure it's a dude...
that...
can magically lay philosopher eggs
for some reason
we are questioning the genre of a bird in a game that a hand leaves a piano, people see animals and train a lake that has memories?
are animals*
yes
have*
sorry english is not my first language im using translator
Well, the Hand always appear in memories and hallucinations, and is the physical representation of the Lake in said memories
Question:
In the Paradox Golden Cube Ending, Dale will be going to the hotel already, in theory, right?
Or "to the next step of his journey"
So... Paradox is settled on the bottom of the lake?
So, as I'm seeing this... As Dale places the two cubes on the television, Mr. Owl takes him and places him on the machine. The machine then creates the simulations in order to prepare, rather 'empty Dale's mind' in order for him to be a possible candidate for the ruler of the lake. Is it correct?
The machine being the one seen in the Cave.
I don't think it's a simulation
more like a memory manually messed with
because it's still a memory
Dale knows this place
just like he knows the Theatre
it's the same place as he visited it awake, but different because it was changed by something, or in that case, someone
A recreation of a memory?
no, just a memory that they are able to modify at will
and also transport where they want to
How about Paradox? Was it also a memory?
Oh, I see...
except they are not changed by the same person
Paradox is changed by Mr. Crow and Mr. Owl via the machine
Birthday and Theatre are changed by the Lake
Mhm...
But in the continuation of what was already done in Paradox
Also, is it possible that Paradox is a memory of Laura considering she is also in the machine?
no, that's just because they're connected
so she is kind of a parasite in the memory
an interference, a noise
Mhm...
I don't know if they wanted this, or if it's just a side effect of the creation of the cube
but it's there
Damn, things are really vague after Case 23 and the Mill, aren't they?
Black Cube Simulator 2019
Yes please
Has anyone noticed that the detective is still bearded? it means going on in memories, not in a real place as some people speak
or he couldve just not shaved in a while
ha ! im glad i wasnt the only one noticing the beard
but its only 2 memories before this, did not give time to grow a beard
He's obviously sleeping between these
probably this and another memory, as Red said, probably in a therapy session, where he faces the fear of his parents' murder
I wonder about Mr. Crow's wife, being in a cupboard in mill. She does nothing but eats and sleeps. 😃
When I scrolled up and @spice frigate said "Bob" Hill, I automatically thought of Bobby Hill from King of the hills hahaa..
@inner pumice That would of been a giant possibly duration that, Will could of just did a lot behind the scenes though, there is no direct game again to play him as though. But I think you do play as Will as the Dale, in some way of Theater.
@red wave
This wikipage is made to register every plausible theories about the Rusty Lake/ Cube Escape series of escape games. Feel free to add any theories you want, as long as they make some sort of sense...
thanks ^-^
How do you rest? Seriously RL gave me horrible nightmares brah, @copper hawk
ehh
that sense of horror is something i feel like is toned down in the more recent games
there's no more innocentally panning the camera up to see a shadow figure right there in your face
like in harvey's box
Still the shadow, seriously one of the - well the only spooky thing I have seen these days. Not into horror type anything. It has to be a well lighted room and duration of the day, after that a lot of cartoons.
Well, Paradox was about therapy, so jumpscare are harder to add
Plus we know all the "monsters" and at this point we expect to be surprised
Not mentioning the fact that as theorizers (what most of us here are) seeing the games over and over again makes us immune to this type of horror, and we're more focused on the details for the lore than relaxed and not prepared for spoopy shadows
So you'd pretty much have to be new to be scared by those games
@past wren
And to answer you, I regularly force myself to watch hardcore gore, to cure the downsides of my hyper emotivity
So that plays too
I only play through roots and paradise only once, the rest well I did it more recently too. I should really turn on the soundtrack as I am playing though... @copper hawk that is great to focus on that too, i have not touched my ps3 in a while. I will play some games tonight.
Great
Thanks for answering my question red.
No problem
Don't do like me, though
I only do this so I don't lose consciousness whenever I see someone hurt
I'm gonna go now
I'll be back in an hour
Bye
Alright. I should get going on a few myself. See you soon chat.
The movie had some good jumpscares tho
It did
So what game should I play next, Paradise or Roots?
After theater?
Well, between Paradise and Roots, I suggest playing Roots first.
Although, I'm not sure if it's after Theater.
Was it?
I think it was before.... paradise, since it only had their first gen in it.
I might play it a bit later on, since I want to cure myself away for a bit though.. 😄
roots was released after theatre
Thank you @hollow raptor 😃 I will then play roots.
In my opinion, Roots was the best in all of the other exclusives.
It is so long though, much like Case 23. Paradise, also paradox.
Well you probably rush right through, @ancient blade ?
Although long, it's quite immersive, a problem I had with the other exclusives.
I barely realized how long I played it.
no kidding, there is still a lot do finish per puzzle.
With that in mind, i should vacat the room, see you soon.
This is the order of games I SUGGEST for you to play (not necessarily chronological)
-Lake
-Harvey box
-Seasons
-Case 23
-Paradise
-Hotel
-Theather
-Birthday
-Roots
-Paradox
Paradise that early? Interesting
I always recommend release order/the official suggested order
I've only ever lurked here, so take my input with a grain of salt, but you should look at the steam community post on it
Yeah that's the official order, they have it posted here in #📚|resources too
Chronological order, but reverse
I have first done Seasons, the lake, Birthday, Mill, Hotel in that order.
*Case 23 unfinished at the ending though. I still want to delete it because of the speed puzzle in the end.
*Arles before Birthday i think.
It's because I think that in this order you understand things better.
@red wave Freedom points are deducted to me, let me play however I want second time around, I have read so many wikis of each person in the game, went to the musuem in Chicago to understand Van Gogh twenty years ago, I have a mug of him right in front of me, I know everything but I do not want a nasty troll comment like that structuring around the letters and cause my emotions to riven up like a normal internet person.
What?
Please do not mock me or try to force your tiny little Ace up your sleeve, @red wave you are just a hyprocrite on citing on what games I should play in order..gee get over it.
I'm not forcing anyone ... I'm sorry if I explained myself wrong
I am perfectly calm right now.
You certainly don't sound it
Nothing on this planet will ever get my goat.
You seemed perfectly fine to me, C-Kade
I honestly do not know why they are getting so worked up
is because the word "you" here in Brazil refers to someone in the third person
It does around here too
assumptions. Again I am sorry. I will just look at this one day and use it against seeking out another black cube.
Jesus
ok..
Again you cannot see my sincerities on this only text chatter.
Anyways lets talk about Rusty lake.
ok......
I’m about as lost as you are, you’re not alone
I just wanted to let you know that I was not referring to you, willian
Again, if I was really anger at this irc type chat, i would just of left it for now.
you should of said "For the public who does not know of, how to play rusty lake." It got me confused @red wave
ok,im sorry, but lets talk about Rusty lake/Cube escape or whatever
I am going off Rusty Lake for a long time, honestly you can get so obesseive over it, and trying the right type of puzzles too. Then again I play them on mute, I really rarely allow anything to get out of my phone. Because the public would like conversations on mute.
okay
I think the telephone conversations link up in each game, like the conversations do not start or stop.
What do you mean by that?
Can you give us a narritive?
Each passage starts with like "There will be bad blood" That phrase is uttered throughout the entire Rusty Lake, even some that are subtle.
hahaaa..... was thinking Walter White, i was wearing my Breaking Bad shirt, and thinking "What if Walter White fill in for Mr. Crow.?"
It's just "there will be blood" but, close enough I guess
hehe.... 😃
I think that all dialog is foreshadowing something of the upcoming games, each line is connected.
i mean there is a lot of blood in the games so
I am stupid, just say it, it will not hurt my feelings.
But I'm gonna calculate how much blood you need to make an actual sword
No, the stupid one here is me
I'm going full Austin
Genocide ammount. Trust me.
Red, you reminded me of that one Japanese youtuber who makes knifes out of everything
they end up being quite sharp too, no matter what material they were made from (even chocolate)
Oh yeah, that girl x)
How...do you make a sharp sword out of chocolate?
she's awesome
most of the time, she turn the elements into dust, then boil them and cast them in a way that make them incredibly hard
Ok, so, I'm gonna calculate for a few types of swords
Say what?
I also think the telephones are also inter connected, no matter what kind of puzzle you face.
Say my name
Mr crow?
No
Aldous?
Youre goodam right
hahaaa.. 😃
Anywho, I think that Jackob is hiding something, when he turns back to Mr. Owl, and you start to see the ending unveiling.
Anywho is there another Russian Doll in the RL Universe? I know I did discovered it in seasons.
Where was it?
Spring time.
@past wren Matryoshkas appear only in Case 23
Tell me where did you found the silver key - oh wait thinking of I think Case 23.
she suffered from depression after the loss of her son and after losing her last bit of hope she killed herself
huh. Depression leads to art skills..
Really 29 years young? Wow, that is still pretty young.
Where are the matches in well part two?
Soooooo..... The board itself in checkmate will not turn into cerabellum. Whats up with that?
@past wren what do you mean?
I figure it out @dreamy dawn - I looked at the video and played it amongst the way, played it nearly six hours on my phone. I need a huge break again today.
I wonder if they put the giant mosquito in the game, to be a candian eh ? 😃 I saw a sign on f.b. of it hahaaa..... 😃
rusty lake developers of Paradise, hmmm set in Cananda
why do you say that ?
Hey, I just thought about it
But you know how I already said that the big cube at the bottom of the Lake maybe it's Caroline's memories fused together ?
Well, what if the moment when it turned from black to white is during Hotel ?
Think about it, her son just avanged them both by killing their killers
So the bad memories of her being slaughtered became good memories of vengeance
Trying to make a digital version of my poster, so I can modify it
ugh...
and I only did the family trees, for now...
my god...
there
My god...
red line is "kills"
so it counts for murder and suicide
and I counted Dale killing Mr. Rabbit even though it was in his head, but...
you know...
some people don't think it's in his head..
so there, everyone is happy
Also, I counted Owl and Crow as murderers of the guests because
- Owl ordered the murders
- Crow was aware of what was happening and actively helped
(I'm reposting it, because the red lines were hiding the fact that Harvey is a pet)
Harvey is an imortal birdboi
he's 200 yo
Best bird
You may now use this as "clean" interaction map
I mean it's hard to do better
And you gotta admit, it's cleaner than this
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DeqyW84UYAAqnJT.jpg:large
I was thinking outside of the box, but that's much cleaner red
Dale did kill Mr. Rabbit in his head, because Birthday is just a sepia toned game, sepia can repersent dreams
The question mark can be remake into like forest or even elixiers both are arggresive tones, hint that Mr. Crow just pops into the forest but it could mean like the dark corners of Dales own mind. Maybe this is all in his head, trapped in cubes. All the way the back ends of like oh - paradox per sa.
Almost forgot some details...
It's so horrible that it's hard to keep track of everything
I don't know I like the pictures a whole lot better and I just can't read that bad boy on this screen
Of course I do I've been in the service for 7 years
x)
