Currently, smelting items in a furnace can be quite slow, especially when dealing with large quantities. I propose adding a /smelt command to speed up the process while keeping the fuel cost balanced.

How It Works:

  • The /smelt command instantly smelts the item in the main hand.
  • Fuel is consumed from the off-hand.
  • The amount of fuel required matches the furnace cost (e.g., 1 coal for 8 items, 1 log for 1.5 items, etc.).
  • If the player doesn't have enough fuel, the command fails with an error message.

Restrictions to Prevent Abuse:

  • Only works for items that can be smelted in a furnace.
  • Won't work if the off-hand is empty or doesn't contain valid fuel.
  • Could be permission-based or have a cooldown to prevent spamming.
This would provide a convenient alternative to furnaces without making smelting free or too easy.

Yk I kinda like this but I think that the server is trying to be as vanilla as possible so it probably wouldn't be added. Also kinda agree with bl4ck

Correct

Blast furnaces and smokers are designed to smelt/cook faster than just furnaces. Anything else isn’t vanilla anymore

For sand and stuff they need to add a block of to do it faster

What?

Quick means that there should be another furnace-like block in vanilla that will smelt items faster, which don't go into either a blast furnace or smoker.

Ahh agreed. They need a… sand…smelter
