#What phone to buy for osu!droid?
1 messages · Page 4 of 1
ok, the thing is that the phone use the snapdragon 888
which is notorious for being very inefficient compared to its predecessor the snapdragon 865
so the thing run like a firebrick
otherwise its spec is pretty "run off the mill" for a 2-year-old near-flagship device
lucky i picked s20 instead of s21 lmao
for that price you can already get these
- poco x6 pro and f5 pro but too new so its inconclusive about its longevity
hell at this point the garbo tensor-based pixel would make more sense for the software update
feel free to go one round on gsmarena
considering oppo's demographic (non-gamer) these review are not even kind to the phone
if you want to go to the extreme, the chinese redmi k70 pro cost 10 dollars more having a freaking snapdragon 8 gen 3, 4 generations newer than the 888
though its not recommended due to it being a chinese-only phone so one need to jump through some hoops to get it to work right
but like... this is the value proposition we are dealing with in the 400-500 sect
your random oppo bought from a brick and mortar store wont fly
@fluid stone so yea, please do more research

you could simply say "i play droid on this phone and i find it to be good" and i will have nothing to say, but since you went out of your way saying it is the best and cheapest(?). sorry bud

its ok, you live and you learn

infinix is shit
Bruhh
Infinix moment
At my Infinix zero 5g was a good phone
Untill android 12 ruins it all
Tbf
Hmm is andoird 12 phone actually bad?
it's not really about the android version, but how the phone maker (oem) deliver those update thats the problem
honestly in my experience, the original android version come with the phone should be the most stable
with subsequent updates having an increasing chance of messing something up with your phone
depends on how lazy these oems do things
So that what make the software or andoird version to be laggy and buggy right?
with most of the budget tier brand being "very fucking lazy"
there are more factors, the android ecosystem is very complex afterall
i just explain why he whine about this android version on this specific phone
i have listed the device in the blacklist pinned in this thread as well
i do have a lot of gripe with how lockdown newer android is becoming (fuck scoped storage) but as rian said, the version alone does not dedicate the quality of any device whatsoever
Thank you for explaination
np
performant android devices selection is like stepping on landmine
i dont mind telling others about it
Am I wrong for seeing like, the Manufacturer just lazy out on their software when there's an update
its more like they need to do the update out of obligation
to stick to the marketing stitck of "2 years of android update, 4 years of security update"
as consumer has practically been conditioned to believe that you NEED the absolutely latest software for their device to be at "their best"
while the core android update in reality no longer bring much to the table
dont believe me? here is the wikipedia section listing change between major version of android
this is android 9
and this is android 12, 13 and 14 on the same screen estate

The later versions' changes are more oriented to developers than users
which is practically curb stomp by oem pissing all over the core android with their garbage derivative
the whole battery management shenanigans has gone utterly crazy since android 10
with developer scratching their head just to keep their app running in the background
for any extended period of time
its a mess
but we live in a society
😔
but yea, with how much newer android version oriented toward developers mean more breaking change under all the oem-flavored system app that they have to patch to work properly
so obviously they just go "screw it"
make it run, go to sleep
thats how the situation is going right now (in my lens)
Yea you see Android 14 changes in that page having just one bullet
But the dev changes are a lot
Like, a lot a lot
On another note, if you are a fan of background videos or just like to play with background videos in general, Mali GPUs are buggy with them. They are not notorious, but if you have ADHD you may notice it (ref: https://github.com/osudroid/osu-droid/issues/318)
insert obligatory "LOL MALI GPU"
its simply a pain to work with if you stray anywhere away from the paved road
said every emulator dev
speaking of which, rog phone 7 received android 14 a week ago
and as expected, their forum is already in crisis mode
even though their flavor of android is much closer to stock than others
Can't do that because there are people using it, the fact that there is an issue (and the investigation was only possible because sora has a mali phone) speak for itself ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@sick knot Poco x4 gt worth the buy in ur opinion
for how much
could be a bit cheaper
but fair price
if you can stand miui
do note that the dimensity 8100 inside the thing trade peak power performance for efficiency
its efficiency is actually on par with snap 7 gen 2 and snap 8 gen 2
even though its peak performance is below snap 8 gen 1+ (which is the target in the used 200 usd section)
they dont seem to suffer from the same mainboard frying itself like the poco x3 either
due to lower powered soc
I'm here to give a perspective about Xiaomi 11T
- At first glance, This phone seems to be a good phone with no issues towards rhythm games (o!d) however, lately after Xiaomi has released the new HyperOS it has turned out to be one of the worst OS updates. Turns out the problem after updating the OS is Multi-touch issue / Ghost touch
But when I attemp to play with drag style everything is fine
I'm not sure if other HyperOS phones would have the same problem or not
conclusion: dont buy xiaomi phones
Have you try game booster?? (Me using redmi note 12, yea hyperOS too)
I also got that wacky stuck cursor
boom
Samsung Galaxy S23+ is recommended, gameplay is smooth.
Flagship or exflagship
probably rog 5 used
if you can find it for like 200 bucks that is
888 is shit
but, it is exactly the reason why you can buy it for cheap, otherwise its actually pretty okay
realme gt neo 5 is now around 260-280 range
sd8gen1+ and 144 hz
but dubious touch response
probably due to high sampling rate
the phone will break in half with a single touch bro
dont buy that shit
its so fragile
Maybe both
If there's a cheaper one
I mean
I did find
Redmi note 11t pro
Which is 144hz
its also 888
and it is xiaomi
with shitui now reskinned into turdos
so i wouldnt put much faith into them
oh wait
wrong phone
redmi 11t pro
not xiaomi 11t pro
caution on dimensity
but yea considering 888 is turd, its probably not half bad if going for 220-250 range
oh i found it for 170 here
actually good

6/128 though
200 for 8/256 seems like a better choice
@sick knot
A phone that has 120hz
Is useless
Realme 11x 5G
I only get 60fps
More proof
Do you not have per-app refresh rate setting?
Funtouch OS has that
I don't know if realme UI does
I think it doesn't have it
In my opinion
I already did that just now
And it's cucked
Is hyperos that bad, I know miui is already buggy but damn
well.
Do they force you to update to hyperos?
now technically hyperos have more change under the hood
but it is exactly why 3rd party application will have even a harder time dealing with its bullshit
with virtually 0 documentation on what they did on their "custom" linux kernel
i cant believe when i say this
but if you dont have too much worry about security
DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PHONE OS (if you buy any chinese brand phone)
I assume those problems will be fixed along the way but looking back when they were using miui I don't think they are gonna fix some bugs. Especially for a small community like us osu!droid players.
My phone is already abandoned, and I am not gonna get any os or android updates anytime soon
it's on miui 14 and android 12
the phone model (specifically k30 ultra) needed to update to miui 14 using a computer because if I just updated it to miui 14 normally the phone would just not work
It would just simply stop working, some people experienced boot looping, touch screen dead, the green line on screen or the phone just straight up dying

this thread has been going for quite a few months now lol
Redmi phones are designed in a way that you have to upgrade to a new phone every 2-3 year (if you:re lucky
). if you choose to buy a phone with less than 4gb of ram, dog water processor then you are screwed. my old phone (Redmi note 10T ) had a 90hz display but the processor COULDN'T handle it that it lags when I use 90hz.
because the question can never be answer
new phone out, old phone become crap
it happens
tbf my question is a bit pretentious because i already bought an ROG phone 7

Nice
haha sure
asuck with their non-existing RMA and update

well, i prefer them to not update rather than half-assing update and have me find out the hard way
and beneath the gaymer skin is a pretty stocked android

i have something to say
do NOT buy samsung s21 for o!droid, especially if your playstyle is drag
the phone itself is good but
something is wrong with touch
if you have exynos, mayhaps
yep exynos issues
also 240hz touch sampling rate only in games (with game booster on)
its there to save battery
i know
i was playing all this time with 120hz touch sampling rate

yeah and i set my first 800 with this shit
been perfect
very rarely do i ever get fps drops and ive basically never had touch issues
but there are probably better value devices on the market now
what phone are u using anyway
im surprised a chinese spy plane hasnt bombed my house yet
lol
I wanna get the mi 10t 5g
yeah those kinda suck
dac dongle is prob ur best bet then
hey
so i'm thinking about switching to a 12gb poco f5 (~380US$ for brand new w/ 1 year warranty, here)
are there better (snapdragon powered) alternatives in the 350 - 450 US$ range? i couldn't find like, a good one besides the poco x6 pro, but... mediatek
thx in advance
f5 sounds good
if it doesn't come with HyperOS out of the box
yeah forgot to mention that
thats holding me back on recommending it
once i check that the phone works fine and all
i'll slap a custom rom on it no doubt
might as well (semi)blacklist HyperOS devices
I haven't heard a single case of HyperOS working well with droid in terms of input
store says it comes with miui lesgoo
anyways i'll wait until f6 launch
maybe the price will be lower then
most sane chinese rom ever
Sanest chinese rom user
Late news
My BS4 officially ded
And already bought new phone
Feels very good for droid
how did it die
How did your bs4 ded?
And what's le new phone
even i don't play genshin
haha ik it's more like a performance test
damn how long have u been using it
like 2-3 years now?
if i remember
my bs4 battery started being stupid after 6 months of use i think
once the battery got down to 20% it dies in a minute lmao
Tabby's bs4's battery dying is completely normal
It's just normal battery degradation
By all means she got quite lucky with her unit
That's her case
so glad it's a good thing ig
I was concern about my mi10t pro's battery rn
drains quickly
yea
its already worth its value after 3 years of usage
stupid brand why am i so unlucky
I have the same phone and the battery is dying
It lasts only like, 4 to 5 hours
yeah
ximis degrade extremely fast
my redmi note 8 pro suffered charging port death
bruh i use 5g and it drains so much battery
what model
also my phone is overheating when it comes to play games with enabled 5g
mine doesnt drain battery
s21
ik its not new
s21 has snapdragon 888
ehehehhe....
in my case its exynos cuz its eu version
in terms of battery
performance different
yes
but i dont play games like genshin impact
maximum is pubg movile
can last the whole day no problem
and then buy s24 when it will be in store
hoo lee sheet
i like the size of my s21
its not that big
thats comfortable for me
and also its not that heavy
what the h-
hoo lee sheet
how tf is this even possible
wtf
48°C is already too much what the hell dawg
whats a good low price phone for osu droid?
oh also state your country and budget
since prices and availability will differ based on where you are
United States and like 200
@manic robin do you have any notable carrier contract option or trade in program?
we usually recommend user from asia/eu
us market is a bit unfamiliar
in any case, i think you can check the price of a galaxy s20
quite old, but it does the job
ok thank you
i dont
the US version guaranteed the snapdragon 865 which is plenty powerful
isnt dat like expensive
and even in asia they are available used for 200 bucks
oh
also android phone value depreciate really fast
unlike iphone
where an iphone 11 is still quite pricey
nero, for context he already has an iphone as his daily driver
you can check pinned
so he is just looking for an android phone to play the game
there is article on how fast android phone lose their monetary value
yeah i had a s8 sinceold osu droid den it broke
this is one of the rare case of "buying a phone just to game"
lol
200 bucks though
is the s20 like the s8 where sometimes my cursor glitch out
if he have 300 i might suggest him buy an used steam deck
no it doesnt
thank god
oh ok just making sure it wasnt just my phone thanks guys
oh yea its very hard to find if you are on mobile

tap the thread title up top
press setting > pinned message
if you're on mobile and iOS you must go to #1006369245577347082 and do the above
welp i dont have ios
I do
but tapping thread title works for me
actually how does that make sense isnt both running on roughly the same codebase?
moment
😭
follow this
ok
@lethal pivot tbf the us is easy mode
true
you have samsung, apple, motorola, pixel
and thats pretty much is for phone that operate in us network without any problem
How about a Galaxy S10?
These should have dropped their prices but it also depends on country
I am not sure about the refresh rate but I doubt it has that touch issue
Nvm its 60
does vivo v30e work?
I'm given no choice as of the moment by my parents since that's the only phone that seems okay with them (we can't get second hand phones cos of money issues) so they're taking out a product loan or something so we'll just have to pay monthly
also I've already asked them for Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (17k) since it's just 1k less than Vivo V30e (18k)
and it has a better processor (redmi)
if I do get that though, I plan to use it as my main phone and also for rhythm games since it probably can't run hsr and other games as good as my Huawei currently
i really hope your installment plan (product loan as you said) offer 0% interest
because otherwise you are wasting money on your already strained budget
17k of what currency?
Philippine peso
it is at 0% interest but idk why they're taking so much time rn
nvm they didn't get me the phone
btw can you check lg v60 price there?
there might be new old stock
I checked online and it's about 10.8k for 8/128
in shopee, but if I manage to find one at the local store in the next city, I'll also go check since me and mum will be going later after lunch
oh wait i realized that you are asking in this thread
please forget about it, its 60Hz

bought this last week
osu!droid runs really good, 120fps 480hz TSR, no touch issues or stutters, best experience I've ever had with this game so far (keep in mind that my previous device was a Redmi Note 9 Pro)
hyper os has been strangely good, no shenanigans so far
12/512 variant, global stock ROM (HyperOS 1.0.4.0.UNPMIXM)
here, a touch test
480hz????
touch rate or screen??
will the phone tell u to update after you turn it on?
you can switch to 60hz
switching to 90hz isn't possible without root
is there a delay in input time?
almost none
matter of fact, it's so snappy that I have to relearn how to aim in streams cuz previous device was laggy
im a drag player and that is scary
what about it
are there even any poco phones that are good for osudroid but doesnt automatically update the os if u turn it on
simply turn off automatically download updates
Get a custom firmware
Never give such workaround again thanks
oh lol i have poco f6 pro one haha
Why?
I thought it would solve these types of issues...?
Oh, maybe it could brick their device
I see now
something something
if you buy your phone and need to replace the os its already a redflag
something something
soo
aside from the phone imagineblaze unboxed in his livestream years ago
what phone is best for o!d?
If its like MIUI 14 on Poco phones?
People do enjoy the game in this case but not properly
I wouldn't do that in this case but if someone was addicted to osu!droid THAT MUCH they would
then avoid it or wait till the os become usable again
unless you cound downgrading counts as flashing custom os
Had no idea you could downgrade a Xiaomi
Or any other phone
I only know for Samsung
It's the firmware version that u can downgrade
If your bootloader has been unlocked
Oh okk
smarthertz
guys just get the samsung s21 phone
its like the optimal one
still good in games and costs not that much
Vivo v29 lite 5G It is also a good option, 120 hertz works in the game
is it 120fps?
ye
i come from poco x3 pro and I am dissatisfied bc it dies randomly, all people of here knows what about i talking
i just wanna change to better launcher or android
galaxy s20 (or s20 5g) snapdragon version
check price
+400 bucks
no this is some terrible value
+400 the samsung?
nah see the message i response to
yea
it comes with an sd695
and err
considering what i have just recommended is equipped with an sd865 for 200 euro
a friend has the s20+ 5g and feels pretty nice
which dwarf the sd695 as image
just make sure its the snapdragon (for us market) version
global use exynos 990
which is workable but not that good
one question, i have alternatives?
and i doubt reseller know the difference to price gouge that specific model
probably sony xperia 1 mark II
or old oneplus flagship
or the pixel 4 (pixel 4xl)
though there are reports of the 5 mark II screen having green stroke when it is overheating
whats happend
yes
please buy used
reason explained in pinned message
or im pretty sure new old stock can be have by relatively cheap as well
at this price point aiming for an 865 is very possible
where?
this message
old high end?
its more like explanation on why you would prefer these method
depend on your location you can approach smaller phone reselling store as well
they still do have the overhead of a physical store, but much less because of their small size and will present you with those old flagships that the bigger one will definitely not restock
raw power wise you are looking at double the 695 but almost tripple the power consumption
still better the s20+

just make sure its an sd865
and have a "no question asked" return policy
then you are golden
actually if you buy hand to fist there is no return
so just make sure you see minimal sign of wear and tear and wipe it clean after buying
it should be pretty good
sure ask away
s20+
s20 fe is the cheapo version of s20
sure it was released "later" but plasticy body and most definitely worse software update support is not really scream confidence here
though they do re-release the fe as late as 2022, so maybeee???
i would say dont bother tbh
but
its for the s20+
its one of my options
probably the redmi note 13 4g 1st hand cost more or less THE SAME than the s20+
well for the redmi note 13 4g you are looking at pretty subpar hardware with a really bad software (shitui)
there is a reason why i anti-xiaomi after only using their stuff once

I am dissatisfied with the crap of the poco x3 pro
if i find the photo i show you in what state is my poco
though if xiaomi then maybe a new old stock (not second-hand) f3 will also fit the bill
its, just a gray screen with a blue line in the middle of the screen
since the x3 pro is kinda like a freaky exception
hahahaha
they cram the soc that is too power hungry to a board with lack of quality control
which overheat and permanently damage the board
its also software too though
miui 12.5.8 introduce change that make touchscreen just sometimes unresponsive
which has been reported over and over
Well, that's it, I don't want to bother you anymore, I'll look at the Samsung to see how it is.
unironically the report died down in later year cuz all the poco x3 pro suffer hardware failure later on anyway

xd
That should be considered a scam, but oh well. what is dead is dead.
🤷♂️
just wanna add note
xperia 5 mk II and mk iii apparently can easily get green line
had a friend just bought xperia 5 iii recently not even 2 days later green line appears out of nowhere
s20+ is better but make sure you get the snapdragon version
if you wanna safest route just go with s20 fe 5g since its the only model that have snapdragon version
is this redmi? I just got the 5g version btw
note 13 pro 5g
sadly, it's just loaned out but it's still good
The cell phone is very cheap
are you on some kind of carrier plan?
because 400 bucks for that is pretty badly overpriced
Aah it's true that you are from another country, sorry
That mobile phone in Spain costs 300 euros
I'm really sorry
still pretty miffed price
Sorry
i guess for that price going to 144Hz is pretty hard (and not worth the headache of buying imported phone)
The one I said is 120
but you can very likely do better than a snapdragon 695
which is old
and underpowered
I understand
its like rm1,4 to 1,5k here
i guess its fine for what it is
with that price id better buy used s21
isnt s21 on 888?
wolfram 1500 myr to usd
better than 695

Yuzu emulator entering the chat
Sorry for my bad English
oh
I mean it still runs a pretty decent on dolphin emulator
on snap 865
@prime quartz thats like 1.5 generation older yea
wait fr
dolphin is emulator for gamecube and wii
after that you have the wii u
which is a proper generational leap
I don't play Wii games
and then the switch which is just a half step due to being a hybrid
yuzu is for the switch
also switch emulation is not fully matured
friendly reminder that the gamecube is already 20 years old
or 21
smth
so dolphin has a lot of time to optimize compared to yuzu (or ryujinx or strato)
and these have wayyyy more effort poured in compared to xbox or ps emu
due to nintendo allergic to pc platform
anyway off topic
lets just stick with droid
or if you dont mind ask away in #technology
people
idk if this version has snapdragon
it is not 2nd hand
is reconditioned
no
u gotta ask them
or dont buy if there are no detailed specifications
They don't have support chat
real

Also, my family does not agree F
ok ok
If I am understanding correctly, depending on the CPU, it will be an indicated mobile phone or not.
so
snapdragon 695 its better than snapdragon 685
exynos
the model is SM-G985F/DS
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G?
What
if its brand new its fine i guess
oneplus while mediocre nowaday is less offensive than majority of chinese oem
and other than the mediocre chip and UFS 2.2 storage its spec is nothing too bad
snapdragon 695 its better than snapdragon 685,right?
what about the software update tho
does it still have that?
as of now
sincerely, software update is just android propaganda
most (especially chinese oem) phone got worse after update if anything
sure its not intentional like applegate (probably)
but firmware dev is hard
and chinese oem really like to customize their android flavor to absurd point not even thought possible
which make incorporating android update upstream significantly harder for them
in addition to overpromising software "update" period while definitely not having a resource to properly do so (especially for budget phone with razor thin profit margin)
you got yourself a perfect recipe for hastily, under tested update that bring more grieve to user than protect them from some elaborate vunerability that only target people with actual money in their bank account
but in case you want to know latest update for us version of s20 is in june this year
pretty respectable for a 4 years old geezer
while e-wast... i mean budget phone will get at most 1-ish years of shitty feature update and 2-3 year of "security" update
how do u check the touch refresh rate on a phone and tablet
im thinking of switching from phone to tablet
fr?
while touch latency remain high
due to android overhead
i guess you can hook your phone up to a pc to log all touch event if you really want to know
@faint sequoia tried to do that back when
but the delta time is all over the place
this "overhead" is the fact that android may group touches together when it reports a touch event to the receiver
while you can access those grouped touch events individually, this is overlooked in droid, so touch sampling is a bluff specifically for the game
how
this behavior has its own section in android docs: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/MotionEvent#batching
I imagine that in the case of high touch sampling rate, the grouping happens more often
@calm torrent get android studio, make a dummy app with a handler onMotionEvent for android build it on your phone, log the MotionEvent object to console
what the
mhm
the point is you can make a high touch sampling rate screen, but android will "discard" most inputs that you do for "efficiency"
ok finally i got something
so here is the table of end to end touch latency for mobile devices
use a high speed camera to measure
its a bit old
but it will do the trick
as you can see latency is somewhere in the ballpark of 70-100ms
say if you have a generic phone with 120Hz touch sampling rate, the worst case scenario is that your touch will be 8-9ms more delayed
compared to top of the line gayming phone with 720Hz sample rate
you touch response will be at worst 1-2ms more delayed
you see how insignificant those number is to the general latency?
source for the autism
the way I see this is touch sampling rate will only cut a certain process within the input processing pipeline that isn't the major bottlenecking process to begin with
yep
this 8-9ms is just, let's say, the time that android takes to go "hey you touched the screen"
the rest of the process is unaffected by it, and that may be where most of the latency comes from
thats why on the same platform (android) having high touch sampling rate only provide marginally (or at worst just straight up placebo) benefit to the user
but marketing gonna marketing
as long as they cant get sue (cuz it "technically" not false advertising) you damn sure they will do it
this section sum it up nicely
oh I didn't open the site and now I know how nerdy this is to other people
I know that iOS has a different pipeline from android, but damn this really explains why I felt my ipad's response time feels so much better than my phone even though the former is at 60Hz and the latter is at 120Hz
but either way, this has been established and should be advised to other folks lurking around here
time to actually write that article on the osudroid-guide site
because there are people who were bought into high touch sampling rate phones like BS4
honestly i would be much more confident if there is some kind of a/b testing to disprove this once and for all
but yea the logic mostly checks out
disprove the belief that high touch sampling rate on android devices do something?
the logic behind it isn't so easy to consume for the average user I'm afraid, but with some visualizations I think it can be made easier
have you seen the audiophile community?

2 billion years later they still believe they can hear the difference with sampling rate above 44.1kHz
while due to shannon-nyquist theorem, to have the recreated signal not identical to the source the source need to have sound above 22kHz
which is beyond the fucking human hearing limit
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I think that's an entirely different thing, but in here we should at least warn people to not be bought into high touch sampling rate advertisement
because droid is something that sounds like it can benefit from that thing
so it is easy to be misled
the thing is that marketing is gonna marketing, just like premium audiophile product
its very hard to be persuasive with just word and logic
cold hard number much better
one of the more irksome point is that sure we know ios good latency and android bad latency, and having high hardware sampling rate is not gonna do jackshit to those gap
but why even in the android space that latency number is still all over the place
anywhere from 110-180
if it is turns out to be because of inadequate testing methodology then you can discard the whole chart and my logic
thats why im not 100% sure
this ^^^^
in bs4 gaming mode options
there is a button to "enable" 720hz touch sampling rate
but it made 0 difference
in input latency
literally a placebo
it does nothing
There are so many variables for Android devices
Hardware quality, software modifications (Android flavors), and so on
The testing methodology may be unified across all devices without taking these variables into account, even though some of them may be controllable
After all, using a unified testing methodology ensures that the testing is fair across all devices, so it sounds more like a device latency test rather than Android latency test
Even in iOS, this is present
iPad Pro has significantly better latency than cheaper Apple devices
i mean only the pencil response time is significantly lowered than the remaining ios device
everything else sit between 70-90ms
which is decently consistent
android? seem a bit too wild to me
maybe just me being paranoid
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah just like I said, many variables
I have more to say, but I think this is deviating a little bit from the thread, so I will stop
spec wise kinda mid
and they dont have a good reputation here
for the price point you have poco x6 pro (which use the dimensity 8300u instead)
and probably a bunch of snapdragon 8 gen 1+ devices
and there is the oneplus ace 3v with a snapdragon 7 gen 3+
what about the os tho
does it tell u to update the os the first time u unbox it?
infinix is not that much better than shitui
actually no, that wouldnt be comparable
shitui is more on the "over-engineer their garbage android flavor"
and infinix is more on the "lmao this guy actually use the phone outside of china"
pretty sure every phone do so
but its not good for osudroid u said
when u update it
i recommend to not update it
every phone will ask you to update though
so its an uphill battle
also to cover my ass here, if its your daily driver, i would at least recommend to do security update
(though considering poco x3 pro goes to shit after 12.5.8 of all version, that wouldnt help)
does poco x6 use android 14
and can update to 15?
yes
and obviously yes
poco x6 has 2k+ touch refresh rate
@sick knot how small are the bezels in the phone?
yes (and pro if same)
theyre that thin
standard bezel for the midranger
thin sides and top but big on the bottom
has anyone reviewed the phone on osudroid yet
ok so i figured it out
the x6 pro will have a 99% chance of having hyperos in store
and the best way to use the phone is by downgrading hyperos to miui
i just have to unlock bootloader, download a flash tool, download the right rom for the phone, put the phone in fastboot thing, connect it to a pc/laptop, use the flash tool with the custom rom for the phone, disconnect it and voila
not afraid, players literally have problem rigth after upgrading to hyperos
and due to the lack of developer resource, its 99% guaranteed that it will not be fixed from the game side
because its shit for osu droid players
was my solution right tho
overkill in my opinion
just be sure to play with the current version first before deciding what to do
and if it worth your time and (minor) security risk
Hi
I want to buy this for study. I wonder if this tablet can run osu droid 120 hz since the screen is already 120hz
i got deal for rm500
~$100
Are Huawei devices even supporting multitouch or nah?
I thought they did not but this one may do
buddy stop living in 2012

but anyway yea it works fine 120hz, the soc is plenty strong
100 bucks is too cheap for it so it may come with other problems
I literally thought a 2016 Huawei Device didnt
Well it did but there was someone who created a github issue about it
samsungs back then even so rarely supported multitouch
ok the 2012 is an exaggeration
but seriously
that is a 2021 model
its literally in the name
yes back then as in 2014
I don’t know if it’s wise to play the game on a paper-like screen
Just a hunch, but make sure to find out first
I’ve used the device physically, so I know how it feels
wait wut
11 inch is also pretty big, so it wouldn’t be the best experience to be exact
wdym paper like
Yea, the screen feels like a paper
you mean mat screen?
ehhh
yea i guess
tbh tablet size screen is generally better for rhythm game
not osu!droid though
If the purpose is for studying, I wouldn’t risk
Yea, lazer is miserable on my ipad
It’s also 11 inch
even lazer?
I meant the feel to physically aim at a way faster velocity than usual
It feels way more tiring
Maybe it’s just me
🤷♂️
tbh i havent have experience playing on mat screen
it could range anywhere from non-issue to actually physically hurt to play
So you are suggesting that the mutli touch works?
Of course dude
The system may place a finger restriction just like an S-pen though
I didn't test it
Oh that shucks
I've MIUI 13 and it's all ok
what's the crying about
i would like to demonstrate, but the phone mainboard also fried itself so ditto
How long have you been using the phone?
2 years before it die 15 months ago
actually no, less than 2 years, 22 months
bug report is in january
so 17-18 months into its life
For now no issues
I cant play osu droid caused it says my phone dont support multi touch i try using multi touch test it works fine but on osu droid it won't any fix on this im using huawei y6p
huawei
this is probably due to the phone not provide necessary flags to enable multi touch support in-game, unfortunately resolving this require having said device at hand and development effort current dev team cannot afford rn, maybe you may have better chance flashing custom rom to the phone
but recommended action is to not use the device
in other words
Don’t just buy phones only for droid
Find that is beneficial to yourself and to everyone
err thats not what i meant

Ok thanks
