Dear Developers,

First of all, thank you for the continued work and improvements on Hell Let Loose. We really appreciate the effort you put into evolving the game.

However, we would like to share some feedback regarding the recent Flare Gun rework.

While we understand the intention behind preventing players from abusing redeploy to bypass cooldown, the current system a fixed 5-minute cooldown per player that persists through death and role changes, feels too restrictive and negatively impacts teamplay.

Previously, flare usage was strongly tied to coordination and logistics, especially through the use of explosive ammo boxes. This encouraged:

  • Communication between squads
  • Resource management
  • Active support roles
  • Tactical planning for recon and artillery

With the new cooldown system, this dynamic is largely removed. It reduces the importance of teamwork and turns the flare into a limited, isolated ability rather than a coordinated tool.

Our main concerns:

  • It discourages team coordination and synergy
  • It removes the value of support roles and ammo logistics
  • It slows down gameplay, especially in competitive environments
  • It makes recon and artillery less impactful and flexible

Suggested alternatives:

  • Bring back the ability to resupply flares via explosive ammo boxes
  • Implement a hybrid system (cooldown + resupply option)
  • Tie cooldown reduction to nodes or logistics systems
  • Adjust cooldown duration rather than enforcing a strict lock

We believe the previous system, while not perfect, promoted much stronger teamplay and strategic depth... which is one of the core strengths of Hell Let Loose.

We’d love to see a solution that limits abuse without sacrificing coordination and teamwork.

Thank you for listening to community feedback.

Best regards,
[BxB] Jabali

Please change that. Also, when you try to reload the weapon, it doesn't reload and you lose the ammunition.

I agree with this post. I share with devs in balance the flare cooldown without redeploy, but I think that this is a hard nerf for the flare.

Keep the current cooldown plus flare reload with explotive ammo is a good balance, in my opinion.
The team has to work together and coordinated.

Better if the flare just acted like how artillery outposts do and decrease the random AOE of artillery rather than spotting people in a magical circle. Would also be nice if they went back through all the night maps and made them darker so we could use the flare as an actual flare

The only bad thing about the recent changes I see, is that it's not possible to use the ordnance ammo box for instant rearm. Nothing else.

All those other points that have been raise in the original post... very questionable if even valid at all. 👎 The old system allowed total spam so naturally there must be some kind of cooldown. And of course one can't switch roles to avoid the timer, that would be plain abuse... what kind of comment is that? 🤔

Imo. flares shouldn't exist as an UAV to begin with and be accessible only on the night maps. Doesn't make any sense using them during the bright day.

Artillery shouldn’t be flexible. They should not be able to place garrisons. You’d be amazed how many times I get into a match to shoot and I can’t because there’s a squad running around front door or attacking with it.

Indirect fire infantrymen should never be in the front line. In realistic sense and game logic. We are meant to be behind our friendlies covering their fronts.

And I’m a comp arty player. I’ve literally used my squad to support swap and build a redzone in comp matches. I shouldn’t be able to do that. It essentially becomes recon +2 infantry and the 3rd/4th flares. Wayyyy to overpowered for what the role is actually supposed to be

If you people need flares to tell where the enemy has to be on the map, you need to git gud
