#Axis AT is out of balance. Suggest a Lvl 10 Axis AT w/G434

Title says it all, but basically:

Suggestion:

Make a lvl 10 loadout for Axis AT with a G43 and Panzershreck rockets. (like normal rocket class, but a semi-auto rifle to better balance the M1)

Reasons:

  • Before AT changes, the M1 Garand made up for the weaker bazooka. (for example bazooka could only pen a P4 from the rear)

  • German rockets and pen zones were slightly OP, but ther trade was running a K98. Was a good trade.

  • Now, the Bazooka and Panzershreck are essentially the same.

  • Axis AT only gets the K98 resulting in a big imbalance for gunfights.

  • K98 is a great weapon, but it puts off newer players using the class—actually most players new or old.

  • Given the recent hit box, damage, and other tank changes (eg 2 shot for recon, from pen on a P4) Axis AT is now way out of a comfortable imbalance vs. Allied AT when combined with the K98 as only option.

  • Giving a G43 (or STG) as a lvl 10 is a reason to grind that class.

  • Plenty of more granular reasons to be made, but you get the idea.

A big no 👎 . The main reason should be obvious.

Also apart of that, don't forget there is also Soviet AT with boltAction rifle as well as the British who don't have anything else. RL specific adjustment(s) would be more feasible than adding a semi-auto loadout as the primary weapon.

I agree that something should be done to the AT class, but I think theres 2 ways they could go about this:

They could do what Ham suggested, but imo you need some counterbalance because rocket spam would be a very big issue (as if it isn't already) because literally everyone and their mom would be playing AT on both sides now, I think if you go down this route, you need to introduce some things to balance it out such as;

  • Mediums can no longer be killed from the front plate by AT rockets
  • To reduce rocket spam introduce a timer similar to the flare gun but shorter (2 mins?), BUT allow rockets to be instantly replenished by going within range of a munitions node or resupplying from an explosive ammo box, hopefully encouraging teamwork (give the us rifleman a kit with explo ammo pls) also making ammo count persistent across lives as to not allow people to cheese the system by shooting 2 rockets and redeploying, they should be forced to resupply or shoot all their rockets and wait for the cooldown to expire to get all 3 back.

The second option (and imo more reasonable option):

Give the US and USSR (Lvl 8 Bazooka Kit) a weaker primary weapon, as the rocket should be their “primary” weapon.

  • Remove the M1 Garand from the US AT and replace it with an M1 Carbine
  • Remove the PPSH from the Lvl 8 USSR AT loadout and replace it with one of the Mosins
  • Everything else remains the same as it is today

US Assault lvl 9 gets Grease gun
Axis Assault lvl 9 gets an STG

There's peace and love in the world and they don't need to all be 1:1.
Even less so just because you play it frequently

Yeah great idea, especially the cooldown. This is a more balanced take with tank gameplay in mind.

The point overall is that recent Tank/AT changes have negatively effected big parts of the gameplay for multiple classes. I can't find many positives. It feels like it needs some tuning, and hopefully it can be looked at closer.

The old meta was getting stale, so I'm all for reworking. Ironing this out would be worth spending time on @frail swift

Though as long as they keep the heavy ammo boxes only for Axis rifleman its fine.
As germany you have more and easier ways to get more rockets. If they give US rifle man a heavy ammo Box as well I would agree.

The fact that G43 wasn't the GER standard issue rifle. Kar98K was. Can we have G43 available? Yes, why not... especially when having 1944 maps. But not at a specialist class like AT.

And as Solid and HerrWilles mentioned, there are other factors that are balancing the GER AT out. And then those I mentioned earlier.

If we had custom loadout system where everything available would cost a price of some loadout points, having G43 could be possible...maybe. (but maybe even then I wouldn't allow it for a class like AT) If, then would be at the cost of having less/weaker AT equipment as a result (for instance, just AT mines and AT grenades or fewer rockets). But that's something I just suggested some time ago and probably will never get into HLL so our balancing is limited to the fixed loadouts. And allowing G43 is like a no way.

Or if fixed loadouts, we should get at least subfaction system where every subfaction would have its own loadouts.

I mean I don't want to be /that/ rude, but the post reads like "I play AT in comp, so I want it to have a better weapon whilst I play axis AT"
