I’d suggest taking some inspiration from classics like Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising and Battlefield Vietnam.
One of the standout features in Joint Operations was the remote-controlled satchel charge. It created some unforgettable moments—especially when a recon managed to sneak one into an enemy helicopter, whether deep behind enemy lines or just by sheer luck. Waiting for it to fill up, watching it take off… and then boom. Those were the days.
For Hell Let Loose, something along those lines could add a lot of emergent gameplay.
On the Battlefield Vietnam side, the limited availability of fighter jets made them incredibly valuable and exciting. HLL could introduce something similar—perhaps a pre-defined flight path system where a player takes on the role of pilot, but without full manual control. The focus could be on timing, coordination, and providing ground support rather than dogfighting mechanics.
It would:
Add cinematic moments to matches
Encourage team coordination (spotting, anti-air, etc.)
Create high-risk, high-reward gameplay (imagine the XP bonus for taking one down)
Even a semi-scripted system could bring a lot of intensity without breaking the core realism of HLL.
