That it drifts on snow is based of the changes in U18. All tanks behave differently depending on what ground type they are on, for example snow drifts more or streats give you a better max speed. They are all very minor differences...
Anyway its not worse than the Luchs or any other light tank. Main thing that changed in U18 that if you come over a bulde and turn you 180 the whole tank. Im sure that was a thing before U18, but maybe not that hard.
I get the changes and that they were going for more realism but you can't even drive down a road on Foy in anything other than 2nd gear if you don't want to flip around.
I drive tanks and it has been a big issue where you don't want to even use it, I volunteered be the spokesperson to write something here.
the update was WEIRD.
- recon tanks now feel like they get stuck on anything
- light tanks now do unexpected spins on lots of uneven terrain; it's not just the stuart, but the luchs has always been a slice of PITA to drive whereas stewie was sublime
- medium tanks drive buttery smooth and seem to be able to get out of any problems
- heavy tanks are generally ok, but the tiger in particular was done dirty for speed and turret traverse.
special shoutout to skateparkgrad, where tanks can launch a sudden big-air-reverse-tailgrab-720 on pretty much any object.
The Stuart does feel bugged though, it doesn't 'drift', it pulls to the left, and it nose dives then spins out when going in a straight line. Happens on roads, off road it seems to be okay
I can confirm there are issue like that, but those are not exclusive to the Stuart.
Your right, the sherman swing when you start is crazy
1st gear turning does feel weird at times... especially on the Sherman tanks.
So true, that's all I do is drive tanks and since the update they have gotten so quirky
