#Adding Historical SPAs and Assault Tanks

Hello everyone, it's me yet again. The fact I have to make this post is quite frankly ridiculous but here we are, post Update 19.

In case anyone has been living under a rock, Team17 added "SPAs" in the latest update. However, due to their lack of proper research, they have mixed up the roles of an SPA and an Assault Tank.

I'd heavily recommend to Team17 that the roles are fixed and are implemented properly. I've heard rumours that the only reason Team17 didn't add the official SPA vehicles are that they were to be "too hard to balance and develop", which I for one find is utter nonsense.

Finding the cheapest and easiest way to implement something even when it is historically wrong is unacceptable, especially in a World War 2 title that has claimed to be "historically accurate" since the title was purchased from Black Matter. Even if that statement's questionable at times.

The whole purpose of Self-Propelled Artillery vehicles is to provide heavy ordinance support on the move. Therefore, if anyone was to complain about their "open-topness" and how easy it is to die while crewing one, then you'd be doing something wrong if enemy forces are harassing you enough to cause annoyance. Use something that isn't, like the Panzerwerfer for example if you’d have trouble with open tops.

I'd recommend making the current "fake SPAs" into their appropriate Assault Gun role, so that they can fit under a sub-category under the tank role. They can be infantry support tanks as they were in the real war, made for medium-close range support to kill enemy infantry and destroy emplacements.

Also, please make the regular Artillery roles use normal Infantry uniforms, because it looks ridiculous with tankers running around as Artillery guys.

Attached below are examples of which Tanks are counted as Self-Propelled Artillery and Assault Gun Tanks, with their appropriate name tags below it. Implement these as shown, and this time please do some research!

And yes, I've posted this twice, once in #1098158460463480842 and one here to make sure that the developers see this. Things need to change, the game is a mess since the recent update and I want to go back to loving Hell Let Loose again. This would be a big step towards that.

T17 developing a WW2 game is like expecting your hairdresser to do plumbing. They just don't understand the setting nor listen to people that do. Instead they spit out half baked content with zero QA and hope the ''new map, new dlc [please buy]' brings in more £ to help develop HLL:V and boost their bottom line.

Almost 6000 hours in this game since it released and I removed it from my installed games with U19

My theory is that the argument of "open top too complicated to balance" is made-up to cover the fact that those vehicules were probably already halfway done visually when BM sold the game. T17 is just making content out of any scrap they can find. If the historical error isn't enough, the fact that the aiming UI is just ported from the observer seat in tanks and that the sounds and actual feel of driving SPA are just copy pasted from other tanks (exemple : Sturmpanzer from the P4) make it really obvious.

Thank you. I’m glad someone said it

It’s true though, every point you had was valid. We have AP rounds in the SPAs but when you engage a tank the rounds shift mid air 😂
