I noticed the same on SMDM, seems to be more exclusive to PS players.
I’ve tried both Xbox and PS with quite a noticeable difference

I've tried recording some clips, but on those doesn't seem as bad as for a naked eye when you played yesterday and opened the game after the update

According to Ben, they have tested it on console and the issue wasn't present then – which is why they're now investigating the issue to make a hotfix ASAP.

Can't talk for all, but resolution/blurriness seems to be the same issue, especially in motion, and any distance

I just checked myself and it appears to be an LOD issue, they fade into the lower quality asset after 20-30 metres.
The character models on the Home Screen are also blurry. Seems like anything rendered by the game engine is affected - player characters and environment, but NOT UI / menus
The new icons are sharply defined, but everything around them is pixelated.

Yeah it’s just broken LODs. Console players have less experience with PC settings so it’s being described as a ‘resolution issue’. Its LODs
Yeah we have historically just got whatever we’re given, rarely does a console game have any LOD options.
I think these photos and clips don’t do really shows how bad the graphics really are.
Because for some reason if I take a picture the graphics look normal but if go back to the game it is so blurry

Yeah just did before, and it’s pretty low quality, so it’s LOD issues plus the blurry resolution in general. Gotta love that t17 quality 😏

It is possible that the dynamic resolution thresholds and AA method have also changed. Only the developers can confirm that, but it may explain why the image is also softer.

That looks like an incredibly low rendering resolution not just LODs, i am wondering if the dynamic resolution ranges were also changed - ie a reduction in the max resolution
The whole issue reeks of a performance update gone too far, too much culling of LODs and resolution

And also again, it's not about testing properly, it's about the issues simply not being there when testing. Then when you upload the builds to the platforms where players can download them, the issues show up. That can happen and that definitely is a thing with Unreal Engine 4.

i work as a software tester , i know bugs will go through in production pretty much always. the thing is here that you have an almost unplayable game after every update. that's why you either have PTR or you announce that you will always have issues if it's an unreal engine issue.
another problem here is (and i don't blame aa specific employee) that you have half of the console community having easy to spot visual bugs. Anyone on a ps5 pretty much can spt them. Why requesting for bug report and specifics , testing this in production just requires 1 ps5 with the game installed and 5 minutes to see what's going on.

that's what my boss would say to me if we had such a huge bug going into production. that i didn't test. so don't get mad on people saying t17's does not test.
I also suggested to Ben here that he should highlight the "the graphic issue on consoles did not appear to us when testing" so people learn about it. So far, he didn't react to it. 🤷♂️

testing is not a random procedure with only trial and error. it involves tools , regressions tests , smoke tests and a whole work automated and not before going to production. things not working on first sight is what you try to catch not weird bugs like flying tanks.

U18 was already too much to handle. Since that I have to rejoin every other game a couple of times due to disconnects.
Our comp games had 3-12 players dcing after map flip, tanks flying and all the stuff
So people myself included were already bit on edge. And it settled down a bit after the hotfixes.
Then we open the game today and it looks, you know, bit hard to play after the update again.
So you know. It’s just not the best timing

I’m not doubting you - but today for instance they are asking PS5 players to document and prove the issues… like surely they could just switch on their own PS5 running the live game and see what the issue is.
Is it normal for studios to ship an update and then NOT run the live game on all platforms to see if it’s performing well?

@trim fractal this is a clip to show the frame drop/stickiness this happens on pretty much all of the new maps that come out on console, it gets worse the more players are in an area I noticed.
Example middle cap battles can be unplayable if majority of the lobby all make it there. It becomes hard to shoot and aim at people.

Why would Ben lie? And they would fix it by gathering information from the players, so literally what they're doing right now.
If when they tested it before releasing the update and it didn’t show up, then whatever they do to resolve the issue they are working blind because they won’t be able to see it. Thats the logic im using…
Basically it looks good to them now, they do the fix, looks good still… so they won’t be able to know until after release just like today
Not if they're able to figure out what's wrong (code-wise), then they can specifically target the issue. That's the thing, you don't just blindly try to fix something, you have to understand first what's causing the issue. And then you fix it. Which is again what they need player feedback for.
Watch what will happen, they will do the hot fix and then ask, did that work? Send feedback here…
Again, that's not how fixing works. There's a chance that could happen if they're very unlucky, but again, they first have to figure out what is causing the issue before they can attempt any fixing attempt.

How could they have not seen The ps graphics issues if they tested? and if true then they won’t know if they have actually fixed them until the hotfix is live… so for their sake and ours i hope they find a way to actually see if what they are fixing has actually worked before the hitfix

Icons, hud, and map are generally clear but gameplay and lobby are not. This enemy must’ve had the same problem cause I killed him first after a few back and forth lmao
I play competitively on ps5. I log dozens of hours a week.
This update has made it unplayable. If this is not fixed I am going to move on from this game, and it’s my favorite I’ve ever played.

I don’t doubt it - but this is why I’m confused: we all access the game via the same downloaded files. I don’t suspect there’s a difference in configuration between PlayStations in the same gen (excluding pro for simplicity sake).
So how does one PlayStation produce a difference effect on the product from another if they are running the same game update? I can completely understand it operating differently between consoles, and I’ve seen reports on Reddit that some PlayStation players are fine… I just don’t understand how

I think this is the point, after U18 caused so many issues at a time people where leaving the game anyway for BF and Arc Raiders. It really hit the comp scene hard and arguably (IMO) the comp scene is keeping HLL alive at this point.
If there was any doubt that U19 would cause issues (if you look back at the history on updates in this game surely there was doubt),U19 should have been delayed, it feels like we where just starting to get some stability again and now this.

How are you so unaware of this problem, that so many of us are having, that you’re requesting us.. the players, to send you proof / example of the issue. T17 consistently taking 2 steps forward, 3 steps back.. and relying on the player base to help fix the problems or find workarounds.

On PS and having the same issues no matter which map. Mainly ran recon tonight and even scoped it is near impossible to see guys 250M+. No ping issues

I really don't know what the developers were thinking with the German skins. Especially the one with the vest. To me, that's a winter uniform, not a summer one. The other uniforms really do look good, especially the Soviet ones with the leaf camouflage. The swamp camouflage for the artillery looks good, but I would prefer to see this camouflage for the infantry.But yes, the performance is truly pathetic, unfortunately.Furthermore, I don't understand why the new SPAs were introduced, because they don't break the arty recon loop, but rather reinforce it.

My graphics have been 100 times better than that. My phone auto adjusted the sharpness. The tank is like a blur blob. Going back to the point of others here it’s hard to prove to T17 because it doesn’t show up. They need to test it themselves on console

Before it also was embarassing, but could be somewhat excused. If the hotfix would've fixed the criticised issue but introduced new issues, that also would've been excusable given how random UE4 can be. But releasing a hotfix that fails at literally its only purpose is actually embarassing, yes.

I'm pretty sure it still looks fine on Xbox graphics wise but they significantly decreased the distance at which pop in occurs. In the game where gunfights happen at long range - this is also a pretty big new issue 😄

They didnt test it that's for sure. I think they just test it on PC and thinks it'll work on console. Unless theres some settings we're not using in order to make it clearer. Just want the old graphics from BM back.

It’s becoming a real concern that console issues continue to go unanswered or overlooked. A huge part of the player base—especially those who play competitively—has been left dealing with four consecutive updates that simply haven’t hit the mark.
Here are the major issues we’re facing:
1. Severe rendering problems, with objects failing to load properly anywhere from 30 to 200 meters (videos attached).
2. Camera/hand shake that makes aiming and gameplay uncomfortable.
3. Grainy textures and downgraded visuals on every map, which is unacceptable for a game that previously looked far better.
4. Lag and stuttering, especially on the new map that was heavily promoted, making it nearly unplayable in competitive environments.
Not everyone can go out and buy a $4000 PC just to play Hell Let Loose. Console players deserve stability and performance, not constant setbacks from updates that break what was already working.
Please revert whatever was changed during the artillery update and bring console performance back to the standard it had before. The current state simply isn’t good enough.

If they realised a stable version for comps to run on every 6 months for a small subscription fee they would actually make money from the dedicated comp scene, instead they ignore the community keeping there game alive with full servers…

Its fine if you dont move and just zoom onto one pixel. Thats the weird part though is it does clear up in game, when aiming down the sights and not moving but outside of that still the same.

I’m just a player who paid for this game, two servers, and other things so I could play it competitively. Usually, updates bring good changes, fixes, improvements. But as most of us know, when it comes to T17, every update comes with problems — whether it’s the game itself, the servers, or the RCON. They can’t release a single update that’s fully prepared and trouble-free from start to finish.
How can you release a hotfix that fixes nothing, despite all the feedback from the community? So many reports, explanations of what’s happening — and all of it for nothing. It’s terrifying how they can neglect their own project, their consumers, and everyone around it. I can’t believe that T17 devs can’t afford to test the game on PC, Xbox, PS5 — yet it looks like nothing they release is tested. Unfortunately.
The entire HLL community was waiting for this hotfix, for clan matches, leagues, etc. Right now we have a game from the PS1 era in the year 2025. This isn’t funny anymore — it’s just sad. People spend money on the game, servers, and their own time organizing events, leagues, international matches. And what do we get in return? You can answer that yourselves.
Maybe T17 should ask Battlefield how they do it?

It looks like they dropped the resolution and used some awful switch style fsr upscaling to me. We've got jaggies and shimmering everywhere. And now the barracks/classes character screen looks like a 720p render.

Nothing to do with your Hardware, this is purly the code …. The game code is broken, always has been, there trying to build on a bad foundation again and again and wondering why they get the same results every time.

Perfect ! Hotfix didn’t fix anything on PS5. They broke my favorite game on PC and PS5 ! I will must go back on PC

I’m having the problem on first gen fat PS5, but I’ve had someone on a newer PS5 slim say they aren’t aware of issue.
Fake news, I’m on the PS5 pro and it’s just as bad unfortunately. The only fix for me is using my Xbox 😂

I want to say thank you for finally fixing this. I know there’s been a lot of complaint to a specific mod but rightly so half the console community have been disadvantaged and emotionally disconnected from the game.
I played a game today- a small bit laggy and my brightness levels reset (now I have to have them lower than I did before) but can say that the fix for me on the PS5 works pretty perfect and the game doesn’t give me a headache!
