Hey all, HLL kickstarter supporter and ex moderator here from Black Matter's time. Excited to see the new HLL and keen to play it next year!
My question is on customization options and how they will be handled. One immersion breaking aspect of HLL that could be hard for me to get past was seeing winter coats and airborne jackets all in the same squad on an Omaha Beach push, for example. Obviously, this is less an issue in Vietnam as the climate is identical across different maps. One thing that still applies though, depending on how customization is implemented is seeing regular army infantry, mixed with marines or other unique customization options from various units.
Is it a consideration too eventually see more subfactions in HLLV, similiar to the difference between the British forces and the African Campaign British forces, where HLLV would see US army as one subfaction with future addition of marines etc. Additionally, if unit patches are considered for customization options, such as cavalry or airborne units, could this be a consideration that unit leaders could pick what type of division or branch theirs would be, and have unit patches apply to all unit members, to bring a sense of cohesion and immersion?
Customization is one of the things that make HLL great, among many other games, but I would love to see it's implementation be immersive and "historically accurate"... or authentic. I know many of these listed above may in all practicality be too complex to implement, but thought I would ask anyway
In short, can you provide any insight into if customization variation may be implemented in other ways, if any, to current HLL
Thanks all, and congratulations on announcement.
